Availability for people without VR
Will this be a possibility because i only see the developers limiting their market as a lot of VR systems are stupidly expensive, unless you have so much dissoposable income you can just throw it at voice saying "gimmie". The fact is that, although comercially available, its notpractical for everyone to go out and purchase VR, especially vive that would cost me around £780. I dont want to have to take out a loan to buy these things, or ill have to remorgage my bl##dy house.

You see, that's how it's supposed to be. For VR market to evolve it needs to have products designed specifically for it. More VR products will attract more people. For platfrom to succeed it has to have a lot of content from third-party developers because manufacturers cant upbring it to a massive scale that this market needs. VR is expensive at this moment, no doubt. But if we let it die now because we're not ready, industry will never be interested enough to make it more accessible, money- and technology-wise.

tl;dr: more content -> bigger market -> more accessible prices and technology through competition.

I see your point, but what if hardly anyone buys into it. Tell me where that lands developers of these games and the VR systems themselves (Probably ending up as a waist of resources on something that could be scrapped)

It won't. It will change the world. 99% of the population doesn't even know it is about to be released.

That tells me that 99% of the population wont know its gonna be released, so it could flop and nobody will know it even existed, it'll change the world when everything is available for the majority of the population

There are more than enough non VR games on the market, enjoy these if you don't want to invest in VR right now.

These games need to be designed and build from the ground up for VR and Stresslevel Zero are pioneers in a new emerging industrie that will probably grow as big as smartphones in the future.

It just would not work on a monitor without motion controllers and it would not be fun either, go play Battlefield or something if you want a competetive shooter that works well without VR.

Im sure it would work, and battlefield isnt this game is it, so why would i want that... I think you are missing the point. But im just trying to give another perspective and as long as you can see what im saying and understand, thats that matters

This game wouldn't really be worth playing outside of VR or even really be playable at all. It's playing it in VR that makes it so fun.

I see what you're saying as far as limiting their market, but my response is "so?". There are all kinds of obscure self sustaining markets and more importantly, there are devs that want to make the product THEY want to exist (in this case an awesome VR game) and aren't as concerned with getting the maximum sales possible.

Regardless, the devs for this one have said it's VR only and will always only be VR only, so sorry, if that doesn't apply to you then you'll just be missing out.

Its not like a lot of people will have a choice if the miss out or not and can someone explain why the VR is so important to the gameplay

VR is meant to move around in this game, i.e. take cover, lean forward etc. I suggest you actually search it up on YouTube and check their update blogs.

This game is specifically made for VR and will not work without it.

Also, if you're asking for something, don't repeal it and be so cocky about it. Accept the facts and move on.

I'm sorry if you could be a little more polite instead of being aggressive about it then maybe i could see if i have said something wrong and rectify it, i understand now why VR is rather essential but in my opinion its nothing that there isnt much of a work around for, yes it probably would take away something from the game. And what exactly did i reapeal, and can someone tell me how exactly im being cocky, because im just giving another perspective. And can it be presented in a civil and polite manor?

1st. Im really glad this is VR only. a mouse would be OP vs VR controlers.
2nd. Theres already a game just like this for keyboard and mouse. Its called Guns of Icarus. which i have extra steam keys for...

It's not your fault dude, you're just EXTREMELY ignorant.

Same logic can be applied to every single games. Why not port the game to PS2? because as far as I know, it still has largest market base.

Think it from logic point of view -

this game required you to dodge bullet in nearly free style(based on position of current HMD solution, be it Vive or Oculus Rift in the future), it's not just track your X-Y axis movement, it required X-Y-Z position and normal in 3D (in plain english: which direction you face)
required you to swing your gun and aim at nearly free style (remember you got 2 arms - which applied to X-Y-Z position and normal as well). So basically, you got 3 different component (head, 2 arm) need to map to in-game control

You would have a hard time to map even a single component (let's say, your head position+direction) with Keyboard + Mouse configuration, not to mention you got a total 3 components need to be mapped.

I know in theory we can use a single Keyboard to control one component - yeah, take Descent as an example, while control a single component using a single keyboard is possible, it can be very chunky and unnetural (I know one of my friend can play descent great while I played like a rock and crash my starfighter almost everywhere back in 1995), and most people may find it even more difficulty to move it quick enough to dodge bullet (not really :p)

Save up and buy another full tracking VR HMD in the future, or just miss it and know you may be able to play something much better, much cheaper in a couple years from now on... or, in 1 or 2 or 3 decades, just like many of us do :)
