But if you've got a hankering for anchoring yourself at range and flinging some spells, Dark Souls 2 does have a solution for you that none of the other games do: Binoculars.
Unlike the rest of the series, Binoculars here are legally a weapon that you can put in a weapon slot. If you put one in the hand opposite your casting tool, you can hold the attack button to aim with your binoculars and start casting away at the same time to get some sniping action!
Getting close enough to lock onto Kalameet with my Sorcerer build was also a pain because "Oh gee willickers! I sure don't know how to focus onto the giant f*ck@ss dragon until I get a teensy-bit closer!"
