Step into the robes of Basim Ibn Ishaq as he grows from amateur thief to master Assassin.

A shorter, more narrative-driven game than recent entries in the series, Assassin's Creed Mirage takes place 20 years before the events of Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

Built as an homage to the first Assassin's Creed games, Mirage pays tribute to the series' roots, as players join the proto-Assassin order known as the Hidden Ones and grow to become a master assassin. Baghdad in the ninth century was a bustling metropolis, and it serves as the perfect dense, urban hunting ground as Basim stalks his prey using the series' largest assortment of tools to date.

While they haven't quite adopted the name "Assassins" at this point in history, make no mistake: The Hidden Ones are a powerful and established order, with resources and the all-important creed to guide them. As Basim explores Baghdad, he'll be able to get contracts and upgrades from a network of Hidden One bureaus throughout the city, collect clues on his targets, and take them down with swift assassinations.

Do I need a Ubisoft Connect account to play the game?

Yes, you will need a Ubisoft Connect account to play the game. If you don't already have one, you will be able to create your account on the first launch of the game. After linking your Steam and your Ubisoft Connect accounts, you won't need to log in to your Ubisoft Connect account anymore on the next game launch. Having a Ubisoft Connect account will let you keep your saves and progression on all platforms, and you will also earn extra rewards by completing additional challenges.

Do I need to download and install Ubisoft Connect separately?

No, the Steam installation includes a lightweight version of Ubisoft Connect. No additional installation necessary.

Are Steam Achievements available in the game?

Yes, the same achievements, as seen on other platforms and consoles, are available on Steam.

Am I able to play Assassin’s Creed Mirage on my Steam Deck?

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is playable on Steam Deck. While it is currently displayed in the “Unknown category”, the “Playable” Steam Deck label will be coming in the next few weeks through a new update.
This next update will allow to launch the game on Steam Deck with low settings by default to best optimize the experience.
Note that applying higher settings may impact the experience and lead to instability when playing on Steam Deck.

(I originally played the game on Ubisoft Connect so the hours are not accurate)

This game has me conflicted. AC Mirage is a game that tries to go back to the more traditional style of AC but everything doesn't entirely click. I think the parkour here is the best since Syndicate, which doesn't say much considering it was dumbed down in the RPG games.

When it comes to stealth it's probably the best it has been in the series (outside of social stealth). The combat is basically non existent, which makes sense since they want you to focus more on stealth.

The city of Baghdad is fantastic and I have no real criticism here. The level design of the city is made for parkour. The game is beautiful both in graphics and music, but the facial animations are what you'd expect from a Ubisoft game, they're ♥♥♥♥. Most disappointing aspect of the game is the story which I did expect more from but sadly I was left disappointed.

Overall I did really like the game but also wanted more out of it. It's a step in the right direction, even though Ubisoft will entirely ignore this and continue with their RPGs games.

What is "A Ubisoft Original" anyway?

When they put that line on the Ghost Recon game a few years after release I thought it sounded kind of dumb, now years later I still think it sounds kind of dumb. Surely they could have come up with a better slogan, right?
