Had a good amount of fun with this mod and the maps are pretty good, but a few issues really plagued my enjoyment:

1. No flashlight or melee weapon. For the former, I appreciate the dark atmosphere because of this decision, but it makes it really hard to see sometimes, and the latter is frustrating because at two points I was completely out of ammo and no way of fighting enemies.

2. This mod is really frustrating at points, especially in the second half. You lose health very quickly and are usually at 5-35 health most of the time, the amount of enemies thrown at you is really bad at points and downright unfair in the finale, making it feel impossible to make any progress in a fight because they either throw a dozen Vortigaunts + floating enemies at you all at once or they just keep respawning constantly (AND I WAS ON MEDIUM DIFFICULTY); and the lack of checkpoints meant I had to quicksave about every 2-3 minutes. For about the first third, I didn't and I had to redo parts every now and then.

3. I had a hard time figuring out where I was supposed to go and what to do at points. I had to consult a walkthrough about three times.

Again, it's fun. Just be aware you'll have to quicksave A LOT. And I mean a lot.
