The Minigames Patch

Greetings, dear immortals!

We're going on a much-needed vacation, but we've got a patch for you before we get our not-so-eternal rest.

Minigames Overhaul

We've added better tutorialization to our minigames, so now it should be easy to jump in and start biting some necks or having some deep thoughts.

And if you're after a more relaxed experience with no minigames at all, you can just skip them and get right to the therapizing.

Respectful Flirting

We got some frequent feedback that our club goths were coming on a little strong. Vampire sexuality is a playful running joke in Vampire Therapist (consent is important!), but it was misread in this case, so we had our friendly bartender cut in a little early.

Odd and ends

A couple more fixes just for your enjoyment.

* Club sound propagation is corrected in one location
* Character positioning improved during dance scene

I'm about halfway through the game and I think the trailer offered more than I've got. The therapy sessions sure must be really educational (I guess), but outside of therapy, nothing happens in the game: same two rooms, same 3 or 4 NPCs who do nothing and you can only smalltalk to them without any point; the main character's cowboy-talk and cowboy-manner sounds annoying and artificial (I never liked westerns), and the boss therapist is an unquestionable unfallible authority, which is a bit old-fashioned attitude now in the 21st century (who believes every word of a person without a doubt? what makes anyone to be such an authority?)

I tried to enjoy at least the therapy sessions, but I struggle with boredom, most likely will uninstall without completing.

This was a really interesting story. I can't speak to the accuracy of the therapy, but I've heard that the terms used are accurate and that it's developed in consultation with real therapists, so I assume it's legit. I personally found the stories and characters fascinating and compelling. I also really enjoyed the interspersed vampire jokes acting as comic relief for often quite heavy subject matter.

I started playing this with my partner but she quickly got bored and I continued alone, so it's not for everyone, but I found the details of cognitive distortions very interesting.

Note that this is a VN, it's not really a game; there's interactivity in that you occasionally steer the conversations with choices, and you're invited to identify the cognitive distortions being displayed by the vampires as you talk to them, but that's about the limit of the gameplay.

I'd recommend this if you're interested in stories about vampire psychology.

I absolutely adore this game.

Everything about it falls right in-line with my likes--the humor is well executed and balanced with the serious topics and traumas that the characters have--all of which are likable! There's not a single character that I genuinely dislike (as a character!)
I have my own mental health troubles and all of the 'cognitive distortions' I've seen or experienced myself in one way or another. I have been using my own coping methods without professional insights and I find Sam and his own personal discovery really relatable. And I am taking some advice this game has to heart in my own way. (plus you learn some history!)
Going back to the characters, they're written very well and have realistic responses and opinions, and I feel much empathy for them and their troubles. It feels good to help them. I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love Sam--we share the same braincell sometimes.
I have not finished the game yet, but I look forward to continuing.

How does the "Slow Learner" Achievement function?

I read in the update history that the unlock conditions for the achievement were changed to unlock after finishing all second client sessions. I just started my third session with one of the clients without using any later cognitive distortions beyond the ones you're forced to use up to this point, but I never got the achievement. Is there a way to avoid using the later cognitive distortions that are forced on you (specifically the Core Distortions and the tutorials in Sam's therapy sessions)? Is there s...

How to get through Meditation section?

Hello! I'm really enjoying this game so far! However, I'm having a bit of a hard time getting through the meditating minigame. I repeatedly do the 'breath in and out' prompt while avoiding the floating words for several minutes but nothing seems to happen. I then try reloading the game and doing the same thing only this time hovering over all of the thoughts, but still nothing happens. Is there something I'm missing? (Also I don't know if this matters but I did make a save in the dialogue box right before ...

Game freezes

I just started the game and before bite rainhard/maxi, my game just freezes, already tried limit the fps, verify game files, nothing works... Just after reinhard says "me, me, me" nothing happens. just get stuck.
