You are not being penalized for anything out of the normal here, the math literally adds up buddy.

9605 + 6806 = 16,411

I know the math adds up but why do I get a 10% penalty on a Rank 7 Plane when the F-15A clearly states that it's research efficency is Rank 7 and 8?

Predatory wording I suppose.

"10% penalty" is still considered within the realms of efficiency, when compared to a 95% penalty. Im not saying its fair, thats just how its always been when using a higher tiered aircraft to research a lower tiered. That link I provided shows a table that explains the penalty for each rank difference.

When researching one rank ahead, there is no penalty, but when researching one rank below, its a flat 10% reduction from the total RP earned and rapidly gets worse from there. I believe the only way to mitigate this is by using a premium aircraft.

Yeah I guess that's the reason why I never realized that the Stat-Card is misleading because I totally did not use the F-4S for the majority of the grind...

Meh War thunder feels like a scam by default since like... 2014 ?
