Nearest jobs
Hi!

So I have been playing now for a bit, but I'm having trouble finding the nearest jobs on the freight market. This usually happens when the location I delivered to doesn't have any jobs themselves.

When I pull up the market view(on the map) it shows me a few that are closeby, but when I drive to the nearest logistics company they have many more jobs for me than the market says.
Is this common that the physical location offer more jobs than the one linked to the map?

Any answer to help me understand it, would be greatly appreciated :)

Jobs become available randomly. It may be that they only went live between you selecting a job and arriving at the depot. You don't have to take the job you've travelled there for if you don't want to.

Each job has it's own remaining time (game time) before dismissed. It might be possible they are no longer available if your driving time to the provided company longer than their remaining time. In that case, a new job or sometimes few new jobs will be added in exchange.

In case you're not aware yet, in the job list select any nearby city in the map to filtering out available jobs only on that city and surrounding areas.

like he says you can select the city you're in and it shows only jobs in that city.

For example, I just delivered to RT Log in Innsbruck and closed the debriefing log. I'm back to main menu and open Freight Market, select Innsbruck and there are 13 jobs of which only 3 are from RT Log. I then click on Drive and go to the green icon to check jobs there and there are the same 3 jobs, no more no less.

If by chance you select External Contracts when at the icon it may show you more (and different) jobs. Or as suggested above, if takes some time to reach the company, some jobs may have expired or more spawned new.

Thank you so much guys for all of the information!

I guess it's a bit confusing if you haven't played these games before :)

I guess that's when I press the map and the grey circle for where the city is? I've had some problems there when it gives me the surrounding area as well. So, picking up a new contract can sometimes take 1.5h(Ingame time), where I usually like to just get the ones very closeby

Clicking on the city on the map will show all jobs linked to that city. However sometimes some industries, like farms or lumber mills, are not in the city centre but out in the countryside close by the city - they are considered 'owned by' the city because that's the closest city to them, but they can be a few hours' drive time out yes.

But clicking on the city will still narrow the search down considerably from showing loads all across the map, so it's still worth doing. Then you can look at all the jobs on offer there - they state their expiration time on them. So you can check that, and look at your map navigation to see approx how long it would take you to drive there. Then you can tell roughly if you can make it in time, or if it may expire before you arrive. And if there are any that are a few hours' driving away, you can just skip those and look for the ones that are in the city itself.
