Big Picture Preferred Display
A feature was added to big picture recently for Windows to set a preferred display to open Big Picture, and subsequently all games opened with big picture on. For some reason this feature is absent for linux distributions? I'd like to know why since its far easier to switch preferred displays on linux, just a call to xrandr. I can do that myself but it makes open big picture with a controller pointless. If you goons won't add it then just send me the source code and I'll do it myself, thanks.

Usually the default display is used. At least in my experience, when I want to switch the display BPM opens in, I switch the default display. Sure not the best of solutions, and certainly a setting within Steam would be better to force the display.

Yea I could write a script that changes the primary, then opens steam, but no real way to just exit big picture mode and revert the primary back. I'd also have to bind that script to controller input. Switching primary monitors in general seems a lot less hassle on linux in general so I'm confused as to why this feature exists there and not here.

My guess would be twofold: Usually Linux users tend to solve things on their own, and ecosystem, sheer number of users.

Sure these QoL features would be welcome, and probably hold a lower priority for Valve than other things, like Proton and game compatibility. Then there is the whole issue of display techs and drivers.
