We are pleased to announce the Utsunomiya Line DLC, which will finally go on sale on Tuesday, August 27.

Points of Appeal

The longest distance of “JR East Train Simulator” series, 163.3km between Kuroiso and Tōkyō, is recorded!
The timetable as of 2002 is adopted, and the rapid “Rabbit” departing from Kuroiso Station can be operated!
For the first time in the “JR East Train Simulator,” the 10-car and 15-car train schedules can be selected!

About the Route

Utsunomiya Line is the nickname for trains operating on the 163.3 km long section of the Tōhoku Main Line (between Tōkyō Station and Morioka Station) between Tōkyō and Kuroiso Station.The Utsunomiya Line nickname has been in use since March 10, 1990, at the suggestion of the municipalities along the railway line. In the past, many limited express and sleeper trains to Tōhoku and Hokkaidō used to run, but now Local and rapid trains dominate the timetable.
The current operation system is separated at Utsunomiya Station. South of Utsunomiya, the Ueno Tōkyō Line and Shōnan Shinjuku Line provide commuter and school transportation in the Tōkyō metropolitan area. On the section north of Utsunomiya (some early mornings are between Oyama/Koganei and Utsunomiya), one-man operation is used to provide interregional transportation within Tochigi Prefecture.
After leaving Kuroiso Station, the train heads to Ueno Station, the northern gateway to Tōkyō, and Tōkyō Station, the center of Tōkyō, via Nasu-Shiobara Station, the gateway to Nasu, Utsunomiya Station, known as the city of dumplings, and Omiya Station, the largest terminal in Saitama Prefecture.
We hope you will enjoy the Utsunomiya Line DLC as you travel through the Kantō Plain, experiencing the changing landscape from Tochigi Prefecture to Tōkyō, including sprawling rural landscapes, suburban residential areas, and buildings in the city center.

JR-EAST has released a video on its official YouTube channel “TRAInBLAZER” in which drivers of the Hachinohe Crew Supervisory Center, who are actually in charge of Hachinohe Line operations, drive the entire Hachinohe Line using the crew training simulator!

Zuiki Mascon issue

Something happened with my Zuiki Mascon. It was working fine and then the settings went bad. Basically, moving the one-handle controller has no effect except for emergency break. I have reset everything using the instructions from JR East multiple times and occasionally it works but I have not figured out how to make it work. The controller works fine with other games e.g. Train Crew. I can also use it with ConToJREtc but not the native JR East support....

TLDR: Only buy it if you truly only want to control a train, nothing else, and be prepared to spend extra money if you want to drive for more than 1 hr.

After 3 or 4 rides it gets repetitive, stopping at station, waiting, continue to next station, waiting etc. You cannot control the camera, you can't look around whats however.

Then, you have 3 lines with 3-5 stops and one line with 42 stops. Why can't there be something in the middle, 20 stops, break it down, let us choose from which station on the line to which we want to do.

Oh and DLC pricing: WTF? You can buy all seperate routes for about 130% the price of the main game, which is ridiculous.
And what was mentioned in 2 comments as well, the pricing difference between in my case EUR and YPN. The base game and all DLC's have a difference of 39%, which is just insane.
