despite being completely against piracy and feeling loss of something authentic I had, I tried to do the same and download a cracked version since there's no DRM-free copies anywhere, but then the pirated copy did not work, and 2nd time I tried it was malware (crack was by someone known as Empress), so I just gave up and decided that I'll never play AC3.
My advice, it's not really worth it. Even the community gave up on the game and no one modded it to bypass the server verification process. Although, if all that license verification was bypassed it'd be a great hit and a huge ♥♥♥♥ you to Ubisoft.
As a fan of this magnitude, i feel it's well within my ethics and belief in consumer rights to ask where you found this crack of the game or any other 100% safe cracks are found so i know to ABSOLUTELY avoid them! I would oh so dearly hate to replay this objectively better game that is no longer available along with it's paid and unlockable content! (
You could argue that since I, a legal owner of a key to the original ACIII, would not need to pirate a copy of the game, but under copyright law I am allowed to emulate or recreate a copy of a game for archival use so any ubisoft or steam staff or ai algorithm will know nothing is suspicious, since I am looking for content no longer available in it's original format)
Ubisoft, you're the worst. Thank you for coming to my TEDtalk
