You can hit his hands while he's sucking up your magic for the big nuke ball. It can save some time.
- Phase 1: Work towards completing this phase with minimal to no damage.
- Phase 2: Work towards completing this phase as quickly as possible.
- Phase 3: Work towards completing this phase with minimal to no damage.
--Phase 2--:
For Phase 2, try and save Boost for when directly attacking Galbalan. The extra damage output will reduce the time it takes to get through Phase 2. Also, Phase 2 always ends when Galbalan has 1000 HP. If Galbalan is below 1000 HP at the end of Phase 2, that HP will be regenerated. This means using Boost is not needed if Galbalan is already close to 1000 HP. The Boost can then be saved for emergencies in Phase 3.
--Phase 3--:
For Phase 3 Vacuum, attacking counteracts the Vacuum. As such, stand near the middle of the arena. When Galbalan tries to grab Adol, run forward while doing attacks to escape the grab. But not continuous attacks as there is a brief cooldown at the end of the attack combo. Getting locked into the cooldown may cause the white energy sphere to hit Adol.
For Phase 3 Projectiles, standing farther away from Galbalan can be advantageous. It might be necessary to abandon hitting the white energy sphere to avoid the purple projectiles, depending on where the purple projectiles spawn. When close to Galbalan, there is no time to move out of the way of the white energy sphere.
If there was no need to stop attacking the white energy sphere, move closer to Galbalan when the purple projectiles stop firing. This will allow the pace of hitting the sphere to pick up. Keeping the pace slow may allow another set of purple projectiles to spawn in.
Lastly, the first few frames of Boost are invulnerability frames (i-frames). After the i-frames, Adol will only take 1/2 damage while in Boost Mode. If in a bad spot, activate Boost.
--Phase 3 Practice--:
One thing you might consider is to practice Phase 3 on Normal Time Attack or Hard Time Attack. On Nightmare and Inferno, it is difficult to get to Phase 3, so getting some practice in using Normal or Hard can be useful.
Phase 3 is basically identical across all difficulties. The only major difference being the amount of damage each attack can dish out.
What this means is that a "no damage" Phase 3 run will be the same on every difficulty.
--Level Up--:
As always, the option to Level Up is available. Please note that Lvl. 50 is Time Attack conditions.
And for reference, I was lv50 exactly.
