Christmas Demo Update is now live!

Hey everyone,

We hope December has been treating you well 😊

Tis the season for eggnog, a warm wooly blanket, and cozying up in front of a relaxing game, so we thought we could celebrate with a brand new update to the demo!

We had so much fun making new assets and features, there's a chance we went a little overboard 😅

Here are the new features you’ll find in the demo:
🎄 Everything’s covered in Snow!
🎄 Specific Xmas/Winter-themed items and buildings like Rudolf the Reindeer, candy canes and ginger bread decorations, Ice Rinks and even a Ski Lift!
🎄 UI overhaul
🎄 12 new train engines and wagons
🎄 24 new and exclusive Christmas assets

Some thoughts on the demo.

- The tutorial really doesn't have to be as restrictive as it is. Intuitively, I wanted to rotate things, but because it hadn't "explained" it yet, that option was locked, which is pretty frustrating. I'd like it better if it just "checked off" the things you intuitively do. - We need some more variety especially in rail pieces. A simple up and down ramp or an "8"-piece etc. because right now, it's quite restrictive in the shapes you get to make (or how small you want to make them). - I'd suggest adding ...

Hey everyone,

We hope you’re well and have been enjoying the extended demo since our last update 😊

This is just a really quick post to let you know we are participating in the Planes, Trains and Automobiles fest starting today. We haven’t been able to update the demo (we’ve been hard at work on those exciting things we posted about last time), but we hope the event puts our little passion project in front of more people.

If you have just arrived because of the event, hello we’re Akos & Fabian, and we are so humbled you decided to stop and have a look at Islands and Trains.

We’d love to hear what you think, so please do give the demo a go and let us know either in the Steam forums or social media.

New and improved demo now live!

Hey everyone,

Since we last posted, we’ve been hard at work on the main game and improving the demo you previously played. We listened to all your feedback, came up with some new ideas of our own, and are now ready to show you what we’ve been cooking up :)

Available right now, the demo features:

🗺️ A larger 50x50 square map
📖 Improved tutorial
🏪 New Buildings Inc. a Townhall, bakery, swimming pool and an alpine cabin
🎨 Colour customisation for buildings and trains
🚂 Talking of trains, there are new trains to bring your island to life
🐄 New animals. And yes, you can pet them!

We’d love to hear what you think, so please do give the new version a go and let us know!

But that’s not all. We’ve also been planning out new things we want to add to the game. We’re not going to spoil everything right away, so we’ll be covering these in more detail in upcoming posts but here is a little teaser...

IDEAS!

So after playing the demo, I can say that I like the way this game is moving forward. I just wanted to share some thoughts on some things that I think would be great to have in game. 1. Train Bells and Whistles: Maybe a little whistle and/or bell icon that when clicked makes sounds while operating the train. 2. Multiple Trains: As the title says Islands and Trains, I am hoping that in the future we can operate more then one train at a time. 3 trains I think would be ideal. 3. Decor: Would be great to s...
