I have to highly recommend this as a horror adventure, but it's almost like a visual novel. The music is wonderful. The characters and plot are decent and will keep you motivated to keep moving the story along. The world feels very fleshed out. On top of all that, the music is enjoyable if not a touch generic. The sounds and music play add a lot to this game.

I used to work in radio, and so this game brought back some memories. I only wish there were more simulation/realistic radio elements. They get a lot right, and simplify some things. It seems like they got a tour of a radio station when they made this, but there's a lot of stuff that would have added to the game.

For example, even if this was set in the 80s, audio boards still had cue/preview settings. There would be a very obvious way to play something on air vs. off air. Hell, even back then they had the technology to stop the playback of a record player if you faded it out. Cross-fading was a thing too, and while wholly irrelevant to the functionality or plot of the game, I think people would have enjoyed a little a little more "simulation" or realism.

The feel of the radio station is good too. it feels real and right, though the banks of equipment usually have a little more of a purpose than looking neat and being blinking lights. Again, I'm not asking for a ton of extra realism, but just a few more things to play with would have really made my day. Still, taking calls, playing music and hanging out with your producer really sent me on a nostalgic trip to the good-old days of radio...

Back to the game: Decent story with a twist that doesn't feel too crazy given it's a small town. My only major gripe is that there are several situations where character are clearly calling in on cell phones, which wouldn't have been a thing in a small town in 1987. It's so hard baked into our mindset that someone could make a call while running, hiding in a car or even just standing on a street that it's hard to write around.

The horror elements are really light. There's a few jump-scares, but you're not going to see any mutilated corpses or have a centipede crawl up your nose. All the murder and mayhem is happening on the other end of a hotline while you listen, helplessly. It's actually sort of refreshing to have a horror game rely on horror through the unknown, or the imagined, rather than trying to shock the player with obscene visuals at every turn.

All in all, I'd highly recommend this, and wouldn't mind some further adventures of Forrest Nash. Hopefully with some more radio technology.

I hate horror games and LOVED Killer Frequency. Fun story with interesting characters and the conversational puzzles really sucked me into the game and had me excited for how the ending would play out. If you're not a big fan of jumpscares, I experienced only 1 or 2.
