The game is in an unplayable state and needs tweaking or modding in order for it to be played. Can't save the game, even if I skip to the second save station in the game after you get the Plasma Gun. I applied all fixes to the game, including Widescreen Fixer, Mouse Input Fixer, FOV and Shaders. Also, I tried saving with and without V-Sync activated. I managed to save the first time with these fixes, then my save file was deleted for no reason and since then, everytime I play I can't save. Any solutions?...

Yes controller is possible. However I found muting the mf'er that talks during the objective improves performance by 60%. Have in and out game sensitivity to about 50%. Aim mostly at the middle, use both triggers on bigger or groups in short burst, and its okay to miss one from the bigger rocks. I was about to give up until this recent breakthrough...
