Decent game with alright amount of content.
The major drawback for me is the repetitive nature of recruiting new members for your villages. You literally need to pray for RNG to spawn refugees near you. If you aren't lucky, the only alternative is running around the map for 20+ minutes to be able to find some or sleeping to progress to the next season for zone refreshes.
The resource management is a pain in the butt and the UI was completely bastardized to allow for console gameplay. It's very obvious that they changed the UI to let this game be played on console, without regard to how much this impairs a PC players ability to look at what your village is generating and consuming. The needs are balanced decently, but the bad resource management makes it difficult to understand what you need to build next or change production to.
The production system is basically a matter of selecting different recipes for your assigned worker to craft for you, which is great in theory but fails to be good in reality. The process of choosing a recipe is a mess because you can't see what your village is actively producing and consuming on other crafting jobs.
The processing is done all in a single batch at the end of the day, so you don't get incremental resource dropped into storage throughout the day. This means you'll end up having production of 100+ logs but no logs to build with for the day because the workers haven't deposited yet. This is another hurdle for managing the economy because there's a lot of guesswork needed to plan what resources you need vs what you already have.
There are massive performance issues related to changing seasons and work processing at the end of the day. There are framerate issues within a city with a lot of player buildigns and npcs. This game does not scale up very well, but that may be my own hardware limitation. I don't have a top of the line PC but that's no excuse for framerate drops and freezing with all low settings.

Overall, I give this game a headache / 10.

The game is a giant mess, you need to finish the game to play the game, basic recipes are not unlocked till you are basically done liberating all the regions, so instead of building a functioning village, you are left with a village that cannot produce even the most basic of things such as food ... yes food ... till dynasty level 14, and leather again till much later in the game, you cant mine copper till you liberate one region, and you cant produce copper items till you liberate a 2nd region, and you cannot mine the tin to make bronce till you liberate a fourth regian, everything is locked behind the most nonsensical walls that make the game annoying to play, instead of a great survival builder like Medieval Dynasty, you have to jump through a million stupid hoops just to assign a villager to make food, game is just rubbish.

Sengoku Dynasty - Promising, But Not Ready Yet

I’ve put in about 25 hours into Sengoku Dynasty, and while the game starts off with some promise, I can’t recommend it in its current state. It’s technically out of Early Access, but honestly, it feels like it’s still in development — especially when it comes to multiplayer.

Multiplayer is Rough:
The multiplayer experience is extremely laggy, and that’s being generous. I’m running a high-end PC (RTX 4090, Ryzen 3900X, 128GB RAM), and the performance is still awful. The game constantly struggles to keep up, and enemies often just wander around aimlessly without attacking. You can hit them like they’re ragdolls, and it feels more like you’re testing a broken demo than playing an actual game.

FPS Issues:
Once you start raiding the Ronin camps, the FPS drops to unplayable levels (2-8 FPS). It’s hard to focus on combat when the game is struggling to even render the action. Enemies are nearly impossible to hit, and the lag makes it all frustrating rather than fun.

City Building is the Highlight:
The city-building mechanics are decent and the most polished part of the game. You can create and manage a village, and it’s enjoyable as long as you can look past the other issues. But unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.

Final Thoughts:
Sengoku Dynasty has a lot of potential, but it feels unfinished and unpolished right now. If you’re hoping for a stable multiplayer experience or smooth gameplay, you’ll be disappointed. SINGLE PLAYER IS FINE THOUGH! The city-building is solid, but the game needs a lot of work to make it enjoyable overall. I’d recommend waiting at least 2-3 years for updates, assuming the devs continue to improve it. Hopefully by then, it’ll be worth playing.
