how do i get my code to stream to my steam deck?

ive been trying to do remote play from my pc to steamdeck and when i click Pair Steam Link it asks for a 4 digit code showing on the other device but nothing pops up and i tried setting a security pin and restarting both devices but it still asks " enter the 4 digit authorization code" so can anybody help me find this code

try making sure both machines are on the same version of the steam client. If one is beta, try it with them both set to beta. Or stable. Whatever.

That got me past this issue. Your mileage may vary.

In the settings, you have to set up your PIN that you want to use.

They aren’t talking about the pin to unlock Steam Deck. They are talking about adding the remote play device.

OP, you need to be on the same network as your PC you want to stream from and have Steam open and running on the desktop PC. Then try to pair on your Steam deck and you should get a prompt in Steam on your PC with a PIN code.

That's after you get the other PIN from the Device. Then you have to confirm with your Custom PIN if you set one. It doesn't skip the first time set up code.

to OP: I just got my deck a few days ago and this kinda confused me too. You might already be connected and not notice thats why the box dont pop up anymore. on your deck go to a game you want to stream from PC and check next to the Install/Play button for the arrow and see if you can see your PC from there. It should ask you for a set PIN then.
