The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie

The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie

Can i skip this?
I just really want to jump straight to trails through daybreak right now, will i miss anything if i skip trails into reverie and get back to it later?

The events of this game are referenced to in Daybreak multiple times. Also, you will miss a lot of worldbuilding, and several arcs for characters from older games continue in Reverie and are further developed in Daybreak. Some Daybreak characters even start off in Reverie.

Still, you shouldn't play a game that you really don't want to play, no matter how important it is for the continuity. Ultimately, playing games is about having fun, not about doing it 'right', so make the choice that makes you happy and don't worry too much about what others say. ;-)

Honestly Reverie is one of the better games in the franchise imo... Ended up liking it much more than Daybreak. And it's meant to be an epilogue to both the Crossbell and Erebonia arcs and finish off the story of most of the characters those arcs built up. Though now they're bringing a lot of them back in the newest game lol.
Thank you for the input, i took a break from work because i still have some pto left. I guess i really want to see the new region hahaha :elliotpure:
Whenever you get to reverie be sure to complete the post game stuff and you will see why they changed regions
Tip: get crimson sin after. The cle port plays fine and since you like that region a lot - you'll definitely have fun

Like that region a lot? He simply said he wanted to see the new region. At this point he doesn't know if he likes it or not as he hasn't seen anything about it. And recommending Daybreak 2 is kind of an odd recommendation considering he hasn't played Daybreak 1 yet... and Daybreak 2 is the lowest rated game in the franchise and did very poorly in sales in Japan. Besides why play CLE's port of it with machine translation when the official English release will be out by the time he's finished up the games before it.

Tip as in to play after his playthrough in daybreak 1. In his topic he said he'd rather play daybreak and since he said it above already I recommended him to play 2 since CLE already has it released and it works properly since he seems to enjoy that setting. If you do not agree there's no need to ramble on so much on why you don't like the CLE port. Some posts on this forum state it's better to wait and I disagree with that so just making a fan aware that he doesn't have to wait so there's no need to start with drama seeking responses. Thanks. Note* my tip literally stated "after" read first next time will you.

Please don't put words in my mouth.

There's no reason to become so condescending either for simply questioning your suggestion. At no point did I ramble or seek after your drama filled response. My bad for assuming you could respond without getting emotional about being questioned.

Nor did I say anything about not liking CLE's port. I simply stated the likely fact that by the time they played multiple hundred plus hour games, the next game would likely be out.

I will admit I didn't see the word "after" in "get crimson sin after." So that's my bad for misreading and thinking you were suggesting to play Daybreak 2 without Daybreak 1 initially.

Then just let other people recommend something to the OP and let that person decide if it's a good idea or not. Also work on your messages if you don't want it to come across as criticizing.
At no point did I try to stop anyone from recommending anything. Last I checked this is a place for discussions. Didn't realize you'd get so emotional because I asked a few questions of you. You're more than welcome to simply not respond if you had a problem rather than chose to be condescending about it and act like I did something I did not.

I'm actually one of the insane people who played Daybreak 2 BEFORE Daybreak 1 (playing DB1 now)

Why? Well, DB2 had just gone on a massive sale, and I knew DB1 would be getting its official localisation in a few months, so there was no point in getting the Japanese version instead of waiting. I bought DB2 while on its sale and got impatient at the Trails game in my library which I couldn't yet play (and I thought I was burnt out on Trails).

I'd heard that it was a very standalpne game, so, with a combination of cheap prices, childish impatience and this information. I played DB2 first.

There was a cutscene right at the beginning which I could see was recapping the previous game and I quickly skipped it as soon as I saw what it was doing. But after that... pretty much nothing specific about the first game was revealed. Even after playing the sequel, I'm still playing DB1 80% blind.

I don't recommend anyone else do what I did of course. I just did the irrational action of someone who couldn't wait. But it was definitely different. Especially as I played all the games in order from Sky FC to CS4.
