XBox Controller Issue

Hi, I can't play with my xbox controller and there's no option to select it in the game menu. I also checked with the steam settings but there's nothing wrong with it, am I missing something?

yet another otherwise perfect game, until...

You guessed it, the first ANNOYING PUZZLE comes when the red chest is up too high and you have to place an item on the red button, and yet the block rises up, and is still to high for you to reach it. The robot says he can help, but he does nothing to help me with this puzzle at this point. If I have to rack my head over a stupid puzzle, the game is already PISSING ME OFF!
