I've just finished the game and wanted to leave some of my impressions here while they're fresh and my memories not too blurred from the passage of time.

First of all: I did really enjoy this game - more than I actually thought possible after the long wait.

In general: it's beautiful - the storytelling, the characters and the whole artistic vision were put together nicely to make you feel like you were part of a future that feels familiar in some ways and so foreign in others. All the while tackling very human, very contemporary issues that sometimes hit harder to home than I felt comfortable with. I don't really want to spoil too much as the story is pretty much what makes this game great.

Let me just share this one thing that I really liked about all the dialogue choices and conversations with characters: Things were rarely black or white. Most of the time MBU offers a very "gray" perspective to the world - even the ending is no exception to that. What is right? What is wrong? How do we determine that? For us and for others? MBU further emphasizes that fact by giving us a whole bunch of loose ends that do not ever lead to a satisfying conclusion. Whether this is intentional or not - of course - can be put to debate, but in general, it felt right to me that the game - rather than explaining every tiny little detail to me - ended up leaving me in the dark. Which made "finding the right choice" even more of an obscure thing to achieve. Sure, there are certain philosophies and thoughts presented to us that do come up more often than once, but never did I feel like those were pushed onto me as "the right beliefs". As a lot of those things come up in conversations with others, it just felt "ok" for people to have certain opinions and principals they live by - and them sharing and defending them vehemently is something most people, I think, should be able to easily relate to.

The gameplay itself is minimalistic which I didn't mind at all, but for anyone going into this game: It's more of a visual novel than an action adventure or anything. I'd dare say that point-and-click-adventures offer more interactivity than this game. To me this is not a bad thing, to some others it might turn "Minds Beneath Us" into a very boring and tedious endeavour though. Just be warned. If you yourself have little issue with reading in videogames, I'd say: Go for it!

I hope you have as much fun with the game as I did. It's well worth the money, imho.

The art and the story/writing for this game are both amazing.

The story kept me hooked the whole time, and there are a lot of good and interesting characters that you interact with throughout. Some small decisions but also some big decisions have to be made, and there's quite a few tough ones where you have to really sit with the consequences of your decisions.

The world is so interesting and the game does a good job of introducing you to its setting, bit by bit. Definitely interested if there will be some sort of sequel/more stories in the same setting.

Just finished and WOW. This may be one of my favorite story driven games ever.
Gonna let it sit for a bit and then play the other routs.

Writing, art, music are all amazing.
Anyone who like citizen sleeper will love this.

I really hope to see more stuff from this studio in the future. This is great and I want to support it.
