good game but never pay it full price, its a total rip off, at least 50%

Just as a disclaimer, this was one of my most promising games coming into 2022 and I was so hyped for it to finally come out that I struggled with the initial bugs and gameplay patches. That left a bad first impression although it didn't completely make me lose hope in the studio as I went back to it months later with a somewhat better experience. So, what was it like?

Basically, this is a roguelite that mixes a Souls-like world and combat with Klotski, the Polish puzzle game where you have to slide pieces to the right place in order to not get them stuck. As such, the idea of having you control both your character and the platform you stand on in this way is so novel that the trailer certainly hooks you in with the possibilities and the heights it could reach, more so as with a roguelite you'd have weapon upgrades along the way, meters to check on and hard bottles to overcome.

Unfortunately in execution you'll most probably find yourself doing the same pattern movements over and over again after unlocking certain weapons as some levels can overstate their welcome. In its current state they are certainly shorter than when they came out and some would last half an hour or more but the logic side fails to reinvent itself on occasions while trying to balance the introduction of new and harsher enemies. It may or may not be a dealbreaker to have this setback but at the very least completing a run isn't the end as there is optional stuff to unlock and to do with a side hard mode. Furthermore, what stays consistently great is the somber atmosphere provided by both the folk tracks and the pixel art not only for the bosses but the water effects on the river. Great hook to watch a gameplay video.

In any case, this is probably not a game that I'd recommend to everyone although if you're into this genre you might have a blast either playing or watching someone else doing so.
