All ETM gamers will be stuck with each other in A1, creating never-before seen gameplay.
Creating also a weird bump for new players to get over, I'm coining a new term here: "The A1 Hell".
New t-shirt reward idea: "Welcome to A1 Hell".
I had to look it up,:
"A substitution for 'hell' in the early English dubs of Dragon Ball Z. Stands for Home for Infinite Losers."
You sir, are a scholar and a gentleman. I want to believe that if I had known anything about the dubbed version I would have come up with that. But now we'll never know. As it stands, I award you the highest accolade:
And with no further ado:
New t-shirt reward idea: "A1 HFIL" ogre shirts.
Suuuureee, you can argue that the ranking system (which is what fixed this problem) introduced multiple new problems... but that would make you a Negative Nancy and it also did some good things for the game... it's a mixed bag, is what I'm saying.
SYSTEM ERROR
...
This just in: ETM gamers are actually getting out of A1,
The calculations were wrong! They are making it at least as high as S4. This jeopardizes everybody's ranks. I had no idea. To make matters worse, the level 0 AFKer ended up in his spawn pixel as one of the 3 who survived and won. New hypothesis: they just keep playing and keep getting carried and slowly but surely they can get to at least S4. This is from console:

Can you get those medals just by getting carried? I just don't know enough. I guess you could do the bare minimum as a checklist and then cave-hide to make sure you survive? New meta?? Wow, that would be so weird. You figure out how to do the bare minimum quickly and that's it, you hide the rest of the time? Knowing that the others will play their heart out and risk their lives to win it for the whole team and even if the raider wins you are parked right by the ETM.
I guess that means ranks are just like levels: it just measures playing time (at least up until Z3 or something I imagine).
Alternate hypothesis: there are two types of ETM gamers, constant and circumstantial. That makes sense. Just like AFKers don't AFK all the time. This ranking system is a lot more complex than anyone thought it would be. Also, I see more Z5s already than they probably thought there would be. It's too complex an issue, it has a life of its own. Regardless, A1 HFIL should still be coming, it's just that not all ETM gamers will be there.
Mandatory shoutout to Ironcane for his gonzo investigative journalism.
Bronce = 5 Poins, Silver = 10 Points, Gold = 15 Points, Platin = 20 Points
ETM gives Gold (15 Points), 4x Bronce gives 20 Points
That would be 35 Points.
A1 need 51+, A2 need 54+, A3 need 57+, A4 need 60+ and A5 need 63+ Points
Let's say you open some Chest, save some Civs, find one or two DBs and hide the rest of the game. That would be easy 1-3 Gold medals (each 15 points). Maybe revive a mate. Never engage, never fight.
Distance Travel Silver (10 Points)
For example:
That would be Gold ETM (15), + Gold Chest (15) + Gold Civs (15) + Distance (10) and 1 random bronce (5) = 56 Points
So yeah, ETM and hiding easily can carry you to A3/4 and if your teammates beat the raider or start up the STM it's platin and give +5 points to 61
There we go, that's great. The specimen in the example is S4 and the game says he did enough to get 3 gold + 2 plat = 85 points. How high in rank will an average of let's say 80 points get him in the long run? You say A5 needs 63 to break even. If the increments are linear, it would be 75 needed to sustain S4. ... which would mean that guy is still ranking up! All the way to Z1 if these calculations are correct!
That can't be the kind of player they imagined would be wearing the Z1 prizes. He reacted to being called out, which means he's there. The key beacon was right next to him and he did nothing. This is no fluke, but the way this kind of player plays. Any player I know, even if they were on the phone, would say "I'm at the edge of the world, there is nothing going on here, let me get that key real quick so that this area does not attract the raider, if for no other reason". The players I know, if they had an emergency, would not be at the computer ready to react if somebody calls them out. Also, that doesn't seem like a place where they would hide in an emergency, that looks like a lookout place that you can flee from with cover when what you see looks dangerous.
Huh, well, thanks for the data.
Which would mean that Z5 will be super packed with people, as it is only 4 ranks higher than this guy. So Z5, if this is all true, will have ok players, pretty good players, great players, and amazing players. Why is that the ceiling??
This is the match:

Here you can see the full list for points needed / extracted at the start of a match.
https://dbas.bn-ent.net/en/information/?p=535
A5 = -63 for each match started.
S5 = -68
ETM: +15 Points
STM/Raider beaten: 20 Points
Let's say shenlong wish: guaraanted platin +20
Broce is minimum (+5)
So the round is 15/20 + x + x + x + 20
That alone is 50/55 points
Some chest, some civs, a rescue, distance travel all silver
15/20 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 20 = 65/70
Just for your team carrying you
As far as I am aware the medals are the way ranks worked, so as long as you do a little bit and stay on the spot you can just idle out of the match
The ETM is a gold medal, looting around the waiting spot is usually a silver and if your forced to relocate then you get more rewards. It's honestly better to not fight for the STM and wait for an ETM to appear with SOS. It is way faster and better to secure the gold then it is trying and dying for the platinum
So honestly I would advise waiting near an ETM near the end if your not doing too well. Don't go near others and the raider will likely not get you. You will likely escape early if he kills 4 people but if he takes away 3 zones a full SOS can usually escape a raider finishing an STM
As for all the above, I don't get why people are mad at a system that punishes players going for the better way to finish. The ETM is the best win in the game, STM happens so little
People wanted this and now we have a try hard meta, a meta so boring with no fun allowed. I try to just stay away and let people do their thing. It always works out and usually over time you get the results you want
At Z5 you need 5 gold medals to keep the bar where it is, anything plat beyond that adds a little
