Coming from a gamer thats hardcore gamed since 1996, Mortal online is probably one of the most in depth, beautiful games i have ever played. There is no other game i have played that is like it. Think, skyrims open world, with trades and skills that make every character unique. You want to be a mage? sure. you want to be a knight? sure. you want to uphold the peace? fill your boots. Or you could be a simple fisherman or woodcutter, blacksmith or alchemist. All with skillsets to sell your hard earned wares on a player driven market place. You can dominate as a master potion maker with real players flocking from miles around for your mastery. I became famous in game as a master Chef. Players would throw money at my feet for my dishes that i had created. all in all, a difficult game to master with a steep learning curve but very gratifying when things come together. the grind is tough but matched with dopamine rewards.

That been said....

The game has one major flaw that imo has, and will ruin this game completely.
While a fan of open world PvP full loot mmos, this game is plagued with gankers.
Not the usual, oh ♥♥♥♥, i should have been paying more attention kind. we are talking full discord groups of game spoiling sociopathic players that exploit the games pvp. Full gangs of end game geared players just killing new and experienced players because thats how they think the game should be played. guilds paying in game gold to others to just kill fresh players. Its rife with hackers that can pretty much do anything they want with no retribution. And before you think im salty about being killed repeatedly, iv not had it too bad, iv just seen and heard enough from other players for me to no longer subscribe to a game that had so much potential but is being spoiled by a few.
Why would anyone pay a sub to grind for literally hours on end for then some gang of 6 endgamers that no longer enjoy the best aspects or just bored of the game to kill you and steal your gear? and thats 5 hours you wont get back. Add that to weeks of playing and you are pretty much paying to waste your life. You would be better off spending that sub money on cigarettes and beer. At least you would be enjoying yourself to some degree whilst wasting your life.

in conlusion, it had the potential to be a masterpiece but the gankers are forcing the new players out with griefing. To such a point that at the time of writing this review, it had 1500+ active players 2 months ago and currently has around 800.
i have put 300+ hours into this game and enjoyed the most if it, its just a crying shame its going the way it is.

Its a fantastic game, and very unique, huge seamless open world, full loot anytime anywhere.
The feeling of everything being an adventure and the adrenaline you get while playing this game is one of a kind.
I believe that this is what Elder Scrolls online, or a Conan game should be like (ok maybe with a little bit of more lore).
I believe some things could be tweaked to be better but overal the devs have done a great job.
Yes there are quite a few toxic people playing the game, but thats the case with all hardcore pvp games.

Its a shame theres a sub cos i have friends that would play without a sub,with that said im not entirely against sub, i just wish it was smth bit less, like 10eu / month, would make things easier.
