Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077

My hopes for Cyberpunk: Orion
1: More cosmetic options. Not just clothes, but also cosmetic appearances for cyberware such as arms, legs, skin, head/body resculpts such as Exotics or more Borg-conversion style stuff.

2: More varieties of practical and gameplay influencing cyberware. Stuff that can facilitate or expand dual-wielding weapons (Both melee and ranged), enable alternative movement styles (skating, sliding, wall-running, etc.), and options for a Virtual Handler/Companion so we don't have to feel alone even while solo.

3: More weapon types overall. Tech, Smart, and Power weapons are all neat, but some of those categories have very few weapons within them of certain archetypes. Just two Smart Shotguns, two Smart Pistols, 3 Smart SMGs and 1 Smart AR. Then we've got a SINGLE Tech SMG and no Tech AR, one Tech Revolver, one Tech Shotgun. Even with Power Weapons we've got an abundance of pistols, most of which are less useful than the specific iconic pistols available and many don't have iconic variants available, several different ARs and SMGs (Again, with few, if any, Iconic variants). I feel like expanding upon the weapons would also be helped with a more robust weaponsmithing system tied to engineering, potentially swapping out components of the weapons to tailor your weapons to the task you want them for.

4: More factions/gangs/groups to interact with, antagonize, and build reputations with. Reputations can have an impact on prices for specific merchandise at associated vendors and unlock exclusive inventory such as weapon components, cyberware, daemons and ICE, etc.

5: Expand on Netrunning and the playstyle around it. Give high-end Netrunners the ability to assemble customized daemons and ICE for their own use, to give to allies, or sell to others. Potentially even have the ability to spike credchips and shards with hidden malware to facilitate easier infiltration or combat if you want to soften them up or get caught when trying to be stealthy. A spiked credchip one gangoon picks up off a countertop causing any goon that sees you infiltrating to suffer Reboot Optics before he can fully spot you could add some neat additional prep you can do before committing to a gig.

I just want the same we got in 2077 but a better engine, 3rd person, and more gameplay mechanics. That's it.

I get what you mean, and I feel like some good ideas about specific gameplay mechanics (And ways to make them mesh well with the world, IE via cyberware, netrunning, etc.) need to be aired out. Just throwing "More is better" at the wall tends to cause problems in big projects.

I personally want more romance options and more things to do with romance partner(s), such as going to bars/restaurants, sightseeing, activities/events with romance partners, etc.

I doubt they would sell much with the same things all over again!

(I know you probably didn't mean the exact same story and missions and such, but couldn't resist :lunar2019grinningpig:)

It will be interesting to see, whatever they come up with! They have made some good games so far. And they will use UE5 engine, if I've understood it correctly, which sounds good.

Here's hoping that the release version of the game can stand on its own.

Okay...I'll play this game. My expectation for Cyberpunk Orion is that it will resemble Phantom Liberty in terms of look and gameplay...the main new content will be to the story and characters. My 'wants' for Orion are mainly in those areas.

1. If Lifepaths are used (I think they will be) I want to see them give us a different experience of the game in each one. Unique fixers, unique side jobs, unique relationships, unique prizes and loot drops, unique clothing, unique enemies, etc. They don't have to be really extensive, but they should be enough to make replaying the game a very worthwhile thing to do. CDPR did a little of this in the current game (hi there, Kirk!), but I want more.

2. Less repetitive soundtrack and voice acting for background and secondary NPCs. After playing through the game many times, I'm _really_ tired of enemy NPCs using the same catch-phrases (I AM the chupacabra! My favourite colour is BLOOD RED). I'm really tired of hearing Regina Jones' voice all over the place. Mix it up, change it up please, CDPR. Giving each gang a combat musical theme is okay, but again, it could be better.

3. Better timing between parts of side quests. I've learned to ignore the major NPCs that call you up in a panic and say 'don't make me wait', when in fact you can take as much time as you want in nearly every case, Also, there are 'text messages' where a character initiates a convo basically describing what they've done for the last week....except you saw them just a few minutes ago. I'm not one who whines about 'breaking immersion' a lot...but it's really kind of sloppy work. Some side quests have definite triggers, maybe some of these little things could have triggers that space them out. I'm particularly annoyed by the Happy Together quest (the cops, Barry, Andrew) that starts at the beginning of Act 2 before V (ie. the player) has any idea what a columbarium is or has even made it out of Watson.

4. Also... While I don't want to play this game in 3rd person, I would REALLY appreciate more chances to see the character we create and clothe. There are plenty of places (at least in the current game) where V just sits and talks to somebody. Why not give us a 3rd person view of those moments? If they can do that for motorcycle riding, why not for standing/sitting talking?

I want to see the city from the Net. I want to run through the pathways between the huge corporate dataforts in all their neon splendour, the massed blocks of the residential systems, the mind bending shapes of the businesses & factories, with the military systems sitting as tiny shapes way up in the stratosphere. I want to jump the comms links to hide my path. I want to search for the way to hack the forts. I want to see the ICE and take it down with the right intrusion programs. I want to watch the viruses expand into giant shards that pierce the dataforts and leave the way open for me to ransack the corpo data. I want to feel the fear as the black ICE backtracks me.

I just want to see netrunning the way William Gibson describes it in Count Zero.

Honestly, I'm waiting for games to reach this level of fidelity:

Granted these are currently gameplay videos that's been reimagined by the AI, but I'm hoping that soon at least one game will be able to match this level of fidelity. Visually, this is what I'd like to see from Cyberpunk Orion.

Outside of that, if CDPR add more interactivity and side activities to Cyberpunk Orion, then that'll be good enough for me. Take what Cyberpunk 2077 did well and add to it, imo. I'm not concerned about the story, since that's not exactly a issue for CDPR, however it's the rest of the game that I'm going to be concerned about.

I could see them even expanding on Lifepaths by making each "Lifepath" a different character to play as. For example, using V as an example, Streetkid would go by V, Corpo would identify as Vince, and Nomad would be Viper. Same voice actor, but some notable differences in attitude and tone for each "different" character.

As far as repetitive vocalization for background NPCs, that'd necessitate more VAs as well as more lines. An expensive ask, but not outside the realm of probability.

As far as the timing of game continuity, I would appreciate more consistent continuity that would both reflect and impact player agency and downtime. This could even lead into making romance a more long-term and organic part of how the player interacts with NPCs and the world, especially if more activities could be done with romance partners (And not just as a payoff for romance, but as a means of building up romance relationships).
It runs right.
I hope they make it more "cyberpunk," I like cyberpunk 2077 but it's a little cleaner and less cyberpunk'esc than I'd prefer. I want more visual body augments, more dirt, grim, metal and rockers, and more than anything I want more anarchy.
My biggest hope is they take the......."it will release when its ready" strategy.
And being able to switch between 1st and 3rd person whenever, so that i can ogle my character, lol.
Also, exactly what the person above me said.
I want more obvious cyberweaponry.

Not several flavours of arm blades. I mean implanted guns.
*ahem* Sir John Fallustiff II
Less celebrity and more player story, i do think they involve so much that to a point that alter how they plan out the story...
Like at phantom liberty, one thing i really hated is they ignored all player choice at 2077 and force their story to you...
