Guide: Advanced features
Some Loading Screen Mod features are not available in the mod options dialog. This page shows how to use them.

Activate the mod for the Editors

By default, LSM is not active when you start Asset Editor, Map Editor, or Theme Editor. To activate the mod, keep the LEFT CONTROL key pressed when you start loading the editor: See the picture.

Enable used assets

Enabling and disabling assets in Content Manager is tedious and Content Manager does not always work well. You can enable the assets that appear in your city and disable all others by loading with LSM: See the picture. After loading, the assets will be enabled and disabled accordingly in Content Manager.

Exclude date from report file names

Because the reports created by LSM contain date in the file name, a new report is created every time. You can reuse the file by excluding the date.

Just open your LoadingScreenMod.xml file in a text editor and edit it to contain the following setting:

<useReportDate>false</useReportDate>

To use dates again, set it back:

<useReportDate>true</useReportDate>

LoadingScreenMod.xml is in the Steam\steamapps\common\Cities_Skylines folder.
Editing is safe because you can just delete the file if something goes wrong.
The file is then recreated when you change something in the mod options dialog.

One thing I've wanted for years (LSM in Map Editor) and another thing I didn't know I wanted!
