If a player dies do they revive in the next act?
I have searched the rulebook for this information but couldn't find it or maybe skipped over it.

From the looks of it you heal after a boss fight at the end of each act so if you die at the boss but other players survive and win you gain hitpoints and win.

As stated above, if 1 player dies, the game is over and the players lose

the rulebook does have a conflicting rule. generally, 1 death is game over. HOWEVER in the rulebook on the death section there is a note about BOSS battles specifically from the rulebook. here are the two rules:

pg 2 winning or losing:
Death - When a player’s HP is reduced to 0,
they are dead and the party loses the game.

pg. 13 very bottom:
When a player dies in a boss fight, continue fighting. Enemies in a row with a dead player target
the nearest row with a player below them. If there are no players below them, they target the
nearest row with a player above them.

there is no clarification however on what the second rule means for the next act. This is actually likely a proofing error from when the rules changed at some point. hopefully there will be more clarity in the future.

For now... go with what you feel. if you die during a non boss fight, thats unequivocally the end of a run. however if someone dies in a boss, the rules are vague on if you actually lose or not. If you go the non lose route, assume everyone revives in the next act.

As beta-testers said in the discord, the rule about diyng in the boss fight and revive after this is not relevant, at will be removed when the game fully releases. So, it means that no mater where and how you died, the game will end, and the only thing that allowed is to kill the boss by others just for themselves and some sort of an achievent, but then the game will end as lose.

what about act 3/4? does the game count as a win if you beat act 3/4 despite a player dying?

1 year and moreo on the optional rules has the Boss continuation rule, but also says you DO NOT move onto the next act nor revive any dead players, once the boss is dead, the run ends if there was any deaths in the party.
