It is theoretically slightly faster due to some code cleanups and refactoring. However, any speedup is entirely dependent on your particular system and how much you're loading, and may or may not be noticeable.

For me this is significantly slower. I am getting around 6 minutes of load time with this mod compared to the 2-3 minutes I got from the original LSM mod.

That's not the experience of most users. Try resetting your mod load order, and if the issue persists, post output logs using this mod and the Airports fix using the exact same configuration.

As the developer himself said, it depends on your system. On me, it cuts half the previous needed time (from 6-8 mins to 3-4 mins) on my PC. So in my case it's definitely faster.

around 2020. the game crashes when loading editor or an asset. without using -NoWorkshop on the launch options

I don't know what you mean by "around 2020", but if the game crashes when going into an editor, it usually means that you're using a mod that's incompatible with the editor.

Never, ever, load into an editor with any mods that aren't 100% required for what you need to do and which aren't confirmed as being incompatible with the editor (many mods are). This mod is compatible with the editor, but as a safety measure won't activate when loading into an editor without the hotkey being held down.

If you do need to use a mod or two in the editor for whatever reason, use the Load Order Mod to create editor profiles to streamline your process.

Any chance someone can share the file download for non steam users?

Once things are confirmed stable and any issues resolved, then a release will be made available for non-Steam users.
