Suggestions
Been a long ride .. and close to release StormFox out of beta.
I'll appreciate any suggestions, and read all comments you have posted.
But please read the lists below before making any suggestions others have posted as well.

Things that can't be added cause the limit of the engine: :\
  • Water reflection - Sadly the engine will get scared and spam a lot of red errors if I make map-materials reflective under rain.
  • Wind effects on trees/grass - env_wind can only interact with textures in source-versions for CS:GO and above.
  • Raindrops on weapons - Gmod can only handle 2GB of ram .. too limited.
  • Ice on water - I can't locate water on maps, unless I do some expensive and unreliable serverside tracers.
Things I won't add:
  • Weather disasters - I might add another addon that will expand StormFox. But this is only an "environment mod".
  • Pressure and humidity - This will be too advanced to add atm.
  • Bioms - Will be too much work to add bioms.
  • Player shadows - This will break 'leg' mods and some gamemodes.
Things I might add:
  • Body temperature and debufs
  • Snow footsteps
  • Hail
Things you guys have requested that I'll add later (Not in order):
  • Solar Eclipse
  • Aurora

Yes .. with listed suggestions and info from the 200+ posts, so people didn't had to read all the old posts. :D:

Better sky boxes. Does the source engine support 4k textures?

Source does support 4k ONLY if you have a NVIDIA graphics cards like GTX 970 and higher. It only seems to work on Half Life 2

I think you need to study a bit of weather in the real world before polishing the weather in your mod. Just for the realism and nice look.
Sunrises and sunsets, preferably with customizable colours, as sunrises/sunsets can be a multitude of red-based colours (such as purple, pink, orange, yellow, and red).

Smog/Poisonous fog.

Separate volume control for rain hitting objects, or weather in general.

In addition, different sounds for rain hitting different objects (like rain on a tin roof), although I am not sure if that's already in the mod or if it's too resource-intensive.

Real location presets for forecasts and timed weather? Example, "Desert" never has rain in a time forecast, while "Rainforest" has rain almost every day. "Boreal" mixes heavy snow and rain, and "Tropical" gives heavy rains and hot days.

A bit on the unrealistic side, starshower/meteor shower? Essentially more and larger shooting stars, to the point where a handful can be seen every now and then in the daytime, and occasionally a rain-size and -like meteor piece bounces harmlessly on the ground (with customizable rates of pieces/time).

A bit on the impossible side, heat waves/mirages or sun halos? Or perhaps some other indicator of temperature on a clear day.

Some sort of in-mod guide, readme or tutorial would be helpful.

Thanks for making the best weather-based mod I've seen for GMod.
The snow overlay textures don't work on the map gm_laubuild
