Sword Mod 1.0

Description
Adds sword, like spear but better.

NOTE: THIS ITEM DOES NOT SPAWN NATURALLY! If you want to be able to obtain swords in your playthrough, use the spawn settings in the config menu for this mod, or spawn it in sandbox.

(Update 0.0.2: Added an Extras tab in the config menu that makes things like Hollow-Knight-esque pogos possible (Enable Omnidirectional Swings and set Vertical Pushback to 1.5 or so).)

If you couldn't guess by now, this is a bit of a joke mod; but that didn't stop me from wanting to make it decent quality. The sword is an absurdly effective weapon against any creature, but it's not unbeatable. Have fun slicing up every creature in sight, though!

Sword Mechanics:
* Press throw to attack using the sword (this technically throws the sword, holds it in front of your slugcat, then returns it to your hand if it is still empty).
* Swinging the sword in mid-air will give you a boost in the direction of your swing, allowing for some fun movement.
* Swords can deflect thrown weapons and parry other swords, allowing for some PvP combat.
* Dual-wielding is not intended, but it's funny. Dual-wielding swords can be disabled in the config menu.
* Using the sword factors in your input directions:
- Swinging upward will flip many creatures over.
- Slicing downward will stun creatures for much longer.
- Stabbing forward has the longest reach and transfers your momentum.
* Most arbitrary numbers in my code are modifiable in the config menu. If you want to use the sword for PvP, I highly recommend severely reducing the sword damage and stun multipliers, and a larger parry window can't hurt.

If any modder wants to use this item for anything, it's ID is "SwordMod_Sword".

KNOWN ISSUES:
* The sword frequently doesn't appear in shelters when first loading a save. This can be fixed by immediately exiting to menu and re-entering that slugcat's save.

balancing suggestion to stop people from just spamming the sword on an enemy that's backed into a corner(really large scope, i don't blame you if you don't wanna do this):
- using the sword costs stamina. running low on stamina makes the swings shorter, drastically reduces the damage and stun time, and can even stun the user.
- parrying spears or other swords instantly refreshes your stamina.
- i have no idea how this would work with gourmand.

oh i didn't realize it stabs forward and swings upward, that's actually cool

@riley_ I agree that the HK mechanic of prioritizing up/down would be convenient in some situations (especially for pogos), but that would remove the upswings I originally envisioned in the mod. I want to be able to run towards a lizard and slice upwards AND forwards in order to flip it over. Maybe an additional setting could be added "Prioritize vertical over horizontal" but I personally doubt that anyone but you would actually turn it on.

alright i played around with the sword some and honestly the lack of aim anywhere compat doesn't make it feel bad to use at all.
my only suggestion to improve the controls of it is make it prioritize swinging vertically over horizontally, like the hollow knight nail. currently if both up and left are held, the sword will slash to the left but it'd be much nicer if it slashed up.

nah those are all guns that dont really fit the theme of the game, a flintlock using cherry bombs would be pretty sick, the mace does NOT look balanced.

SICK THANKS

@chemically inept You'll find a dozen weapon mods made by SuperDino on the Steam workshop. I haven't tried any of them, but I know he added a mace item. However, I think most of the items are not as carefully balanced as this sword is...
