British Gasometers

Description
The great steel giants of the industrial age are here at long last! Like my last piece of infrastructure, these are also a dying breed, with the knell on the verge of sounding for many of the few still standing. These were used to store coal gas, or "town gas", which was used in the same way that we use natural gas today; to power cookers, boilers etc. At this time it was also used for gas lamps on streets. Thousands of these were constructed across Britain and were a vital part of power infrastructure in the 19th and 20th centuries; as well as storing gas produced by the gasworks, they would also regulate the flow of the gas in the pipes.

This mod features:
- 3 different models with LODs
- 3 color schemes for each
- 2 hour cycle animation option
- "Poseable" tanks which can be either empy, 1/3, 2/3 or full
- Scaling

Variant 1 is based on Bradford Road, Manchester
Variant 2 is based on the smaller one at Kensal, Kensington, London
Variant 3 is based on South Shields, Tyneside (Newcastle)

Used to be some by the motorway where I live, they were taken down about 15 years ago now but they were always a treat to see when coming home. Thank you.

now if only you could combine these with the fuel refineries in the game for storage. Just a by-the-way: They had a couple tanks like these at Valby Gasværk (coal to gas plant) in Copenhagen, until the plant blew up in 1964. The explosion was unrelated to the tanks, but they're visible in some of the post-explosion photos
