Primary Pistols and Primary Melee Weapons

Update: Now features dedcated animations for primary swords, primary pistols and primary autopistols.
This includes tactical animations, armory animations, starting screen, skyranger drop and photobooth poses.

Requires War of the Chosen Expansion and the WotC Community Highlander.

Please don't use this together with my "Primary Pistols" mod. The mods collide with each other.

This mod generates primary variants of all pistols and melee weapons in the game (except ripjacks and shard gauntlets).

They are unlocked together with their secondary counterpart.

It supports all DLC and XPack weapons and every melee weapon or pistol of any mod,
since the the primary weapons are generated at game initializtion from whatever you have installed.

Additionally this mod incorporates the Pistol Upgrades mod which means it adds
visual attachments for the vanilla pistols (primary and secondary).

Primary Pistols have a clip size of 6
and they provide +1 mobility and -20% detection radius and +1 damage and a slightly better range table than secondary pistols(can be disabled or modified in XComPrimarySecondaries.ini).

Also adds a "Empty secondary" item that grants a 15% mobility bonus.

Specialist, Grenadier and PsiOperative are enabled to use primary melee weapons, primary pistols and templar sidearms.
Sharpshooter can use primary melee weapons and Rangers Primary Pistols/Sidearms.
This is not fully tested and could be buggy for abilities like supression or certain passive abilities dont apply correctly like Blademaster e.g. I dont full support the vanilla classes because these classes are not meant to be used with PS.
There are mod classes that are meant to be used with PS and their abilities are optimized to work with them.
Also you can't use ranged abilities with swords of course.

Incompatibilities:
Reduce Armory Clutter causes this mod not to work properly.
Some mod added weapons have no fireing sound. Please ask the mod author of these mods to put the sound in the weapon animation.

Whenever I equip someone with a primary pistol, it multiplies at the end of the battle.

I know people are saying to use the true primary secondaries mod and to ignore the dependencies of other mods for this one, but my main issue is that do those mods work with true primary secondaries? as like many others have said it has been years since a lot of the mods have been updated.

I am using the true primary and secondary, but several others mods appear to not "see" the new version, like Dual Wield Melee, Balistic Shields, Infiltrator and Samurai classes. And other several classes that need these mods.

USE TRUE PRIMARY SECONDARIES [BETA]

Keeping the above message for new ppl coming here, as I stupidly missed it when downloading, and now i have duplicates. Does anyone know how to remove the duplicate secondary/primaries that were created? Otherwise Guess I'll jsut have to live with duplicates existing

Edit: It sorted itself out with downloading this :> I am blessed. But be aware that if you equip any duplicated pistols and when you make the swap, you may just str8 up lose the pistols with attachments on them! Happened to me! My Phalanx class soldier was infiltrating a mission and when the mission started they had no pistol! That mission wooped my ass...

USE TRUE PRIMARY SECONDARIES [BETA]

Ignore the the dependencies that say to use this mod. I've noticed that most mods havent been updated in a few years hence probably why dependencies say to use this one :>

Snipers that have been around since the early days of my campaign however are unaffected and can still select all kinds of gear for their secondary slot. I also checked the class ini files, all things there are unchanged.

Important question: I recently cannot equip pistols on new Snipers, the entire secondary weapon slot is empty with no choosable option. All sidearm options say: "max 1 unknown weapon category per soldier". However, it still says then when the ONLY gear the sniper has is the default armour and default sniper. I have 0 mods that change class behaviour, but I legit cannot find ANYTHING on that error message via google and therefore also have a hard time figuring out which mod is even responsible for it showing. If ANYONE knows anything, please do share! It is impacting my very advanced career.

Ask for how? If it's AML's dependencies you're talking about those are built from the mod's Workshop page and need the author to update them. A lot of authors don't create mods for XCOM 2 anymore.
