Racial mod idea\Request
Prior to the Aurora update I had decided to try my hand at modifying the racial and gov't files. Since I did not have the skills to create a race from scratch I decided to modify the Mortalen.
I favorite the good ole domination game, take no prisoners, so I wanted to make them just brutal self centered conquerors.

I set the game up so that other races would not include any other Mortalen but had no way to make sure there were no independents of Mortalen. Although I had not run into any prior to the great Aurora reset.

I altered them to use hive mind gov't., no diplomacy and a singularly self sufficient economy by setting them to do no trade, no resort income. I lowered all other racial tolerances to negative standings. The only race that could possibly be of acceptable likeness in mind was the Boskara, but bugs must just be crushed in the Mortalen eyes. I boosted tax revenue since currency value is in the eye of the controller. The challenging aspect of this race was that all construction was solely based on the materials and resources their own economy could provide. I had to pay close attention to the key resources I needed and whether or not I had access to that resource. Early mining decisions were critical to get key resources started before running out of my initial stockpile.
Corruption reduction was utmost priority since my income was from taxes from my own empire.

I boosted the war weariness reduction a bit based upon hive mind and the fact that their whole philosophy was never to be diplomatic. Other races were to be exterminated when conquered. Declaring a war just to get access to a critical resource in another races territory was sometimes necessary.

I played them as being able to negotiate endings to wars. (unfortunately economic inadequacies sometimes dictate such necessities) and I may have allowed them to interact with pirates ( just in case to prevent an impassable wall should I run out of a specific resource ) I would have loved to have a racial tech that could transmute materials or create materials from energy (our scientists call it a replicator) even if it was incredibly inefficient just so I could cut the pirates out completely.

Unfortunately, the Aurora update reset all the race files and I did not make a backup of my changes. I only saved the original file in case I mucked it up (duh). I may attempt to recreate the changes but thought I would pass on the idea to much better modders out there or even the developers for a future addon for this type of game play.

I was really having a blast playing them this way before being reset.

I have 2 mega mods I am working on and I do backups daily which I keep for 3 months..... that way if an update replaces my work I can go back to the day before the update happened and retrieve my work.
