What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Collective has already been in a closed alpha for a while, and the community has given a lot of incredibly valuable feedback during development. We always consult with players when designing a new feature, so Early Access has already been helpful.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“A year, at least.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We just released our updated roguelite mode, Sentinels of Wanderstar. Once that mode is stable and we've added the ability for players to create their own sentinels campaigns, the game will leave early access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Multiplayer, Story and Campaign modes are all playable right now. The Card Editor is usable in your browser as well as your game client.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The Starlight Pendant (the all cards pass) may increase in price after leaving Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“It's the Community Created Card Game. New cards are all made by the community and voted on via the subreddit and in game. Additionally, players talk in our Discord or subreddit about balance, meta, and new features. We stay very active on Discord and if you want to ask us a question just send a message to @nick.”

About This Game

Collective is the first competitive strategy card game where players have direct control over the effect, appearance, and balance of all the cards in the game. Craft any card you can imagine using the Card Creator. Once you're happy with it, post the card to our Subreddit. Each week the top 10 posts are added to the game permanently, for everyone to play with.

Features

  • Create the Game You Want To Play. Players create all the cards and control the game's balance.
  • No Packs, No Lootboxes. Collective is free-to-play. If you choose to spend money, you'll always know exactly what you're getting.
  • Play as a Hero. Build your deck around a Hero and reap unique benefits throughout each game. Inspired by popular MOBAS, Heroes gain experience throughout each match and grant a powerful effect each time they level up.
  • Vote In Game. After each game or using Voting Tickets, you can vote on a card in the running to be added at the end of the week.
  • Card Blueprints. Unlock a card blueprint once, and you have access to unlimited copies of the card forever. No more fretting over which cards to dust!
  • Simultaneous Turns. Out-think and out-plan your opponent on your way to victory, and players spend less time waiting around!
  • Sentinels of Wanderstar. A singleplayer roguelite mode where you build your deck as you go along. You'll even get to play with cards that aren't in the game yet!
