@scientist: You probably have some kind of texture pack or effects pack installed that changes how the flames look. All the effects here were built with the standard textures in mind.

Laserbeams should be fixed now. The issue only happened with the Emitter tool while the Advanced Particle Controller was fine so it took a bit to track down.

There used to be a tool for that, but it disappeared recently.

@killdog9876: Uh, do you mean you want to repack this addon for your own tool release? No. Collections and addon requirements on the workshop effectively do the same thing without the problems that come from repacks.

greetings, i got a problem here. For some reason, now, after long time of using this, i got a red net/grid flashing around my emitters when i use specific emitters, like shotgun muzzle effect. So what should be done with it or how it can be fixed ?

If you want to use the code in this addon as an example for you own, you can use .GMA tools to unpack it and see how it did things. You can find the addon under steamapps\workshop\content\4000\329174479.

hi once again.
i have tried what you suggested and it worked. though there's more of issues than usual. i believe it's due to adding a specific code to LUA autorun files. henceforth i suck at understanding lua language for source. i think i believe it's best you handle the custom pcf load for the emitter tool while i continue the particle converting part from sfm to gmod.
i would like to add you on steam so we can discuss this. to keep in touch about it, cuz i think at last we'll see new particles.

i honestly don't know anything about lua, and i thought maybe asking you would be a good approach, since we get to have more particles than using the same old hl2 particles over and over and over again.

i tried to look at the code but i don't understand a single thing. as, my concern too would be what if the scale and delay wouldn't work.

will it load what's inside the .pcf ?
or do i have to write specific lines to load each individual particle from one .pcf file?

@E7ajamy: You're probably best off using a LUA autorun file. You have to tell it to load your particles through PrecacheParticleSystem ( "yourparticlehere" ), otherwise it won't appear in-game.

This only applies to PCF particle systems. Particle systems made through GMod LUA don't need that line.

hi there. i am looking for someone who's expert or know how to add custom particles to gmod. i've recently learned to convert sfm's particles to gmod and i want to test them out. adding it to the manifest doesn't seem to appear in gmod at all. i thought of you.

Hi there, i want to ask a question: can you please either add these new effects to a wiremod FX Emitter tool, or make this one wire-compatible? That would be very cool, i wanted to use effects for custom muzzleflash, but there is no wired version of these cool effects anywhere. Is it possible for you to make it wire-comatible?

for some reason a couple of effects (like simple explosion) has a red grid around it and ashes doesnt appear anyone know why this happens?

I can't get the AR2 muzzle flash to show up either. I've got all the HL2 things mounted and I can't even get it from the Particle Controller addon.

The second isn't true, because it's worked before, this is a recent problem caused by uninstalling and reinstalling. The first didn't work. So, I'll try the third, it seems reasonable.

@[ACA] The JukeBox Pyro: Can you use the Advanced Particle Controller to spawn the effects from this addon? The link to it can be found in the addon description. I've found it to be more reliable than Gmod's emitter tool.

It's also possible you are trying to spawn an effect from a game you don't have mounted. The addon is meant to check what games you have mounted and adjust the selection of effects accordingly, but it's possible something went wrong here. Please check multiple effects to be sure.

Outside of that, all I can recommend is to unsubscribe and resubscribe to the addon since Steam could have corrupted the addon during download.

i'm on windows ten. i put an emitter from the mod down, through the normal emitters menu, and the emitter object shows up, but the effect the emitter is supposed to display shows up. the emitter isn't off, i made sure to turn it on.

Also, are you using a Windows OS or Mac/Linux? I've seen reports of addons not functioning under non-Windows OS's.
