This "debuff" is totally broken and the fix is a mod like this.
@nocturna76
I had a hardened raider recruited with not a single negative trait but dammit if he wasn't gonna take lack of tables in the freezer sitting down....uh standing up. He flipped...not the table, that he didn't have.
you are bleeding from all holes, you are sick, your lover died, your dog died, your friend died, you ate a person.
but what was the last straw?
'ate wthout a table'
and i have realized that
eating without a table should not cause depression.
I now understand this mod.
Glad we both agree with the idea though :)
From looking through the code, it seems that the +3 buff is written somewhere in the C# code, which I don't have much experience in. I do intend on coming back at a later date, when I finish my C# courses, to make a separate mod to work in this fashion.
Rather than gain a -3 debuff for eating without a table, one should instead gain a +3 buff for eating with a table.
Nobody should feel mad about eating on the floor, rather they should feel good when they dont have to. Do you feel that change would be unbalanced or unrealistic?
How can you NOT play RIMWORLD without EATING WITHOUT A TABLE and BEING SAD ABOUT IT
If you delete the def, it will throw an error any time you consume a meal. The same happens if you set the duration to zero. Currently it's actually set to 0.0001 days, as that's the shortest time that it made a noticable difference.
If the problem is that you need it to last more than zero, maybe you should try with 0.0001 or something like that xD
I considered doing that, but I know RimWorld often throws errors if you give a value that lasts lest than a tick.
But I checked, by putting it to said value, just to make sure, and as expected, it threw this [imgur.com] error. I appreciate the suggestion, though.
If my knowledge of C# programming expands, I'll possibly be able to completely remove the thought from appearing in the future.
Also it just makes no sense on this as a debuff that can Break a pawn, mood bonus makes more sense.
Worst case you just use a mod like this one, and no debuff at all. Cause the table brings them to the fine dining room to eat.
This is a story driven game am I right?
Said proposed mod shouldn't effect you, in that case.
Honestly, I don't even use this mod, but that does sound like the kind I'd use :p
