It's effectively a powerful EW platform and very good at crowd control, especially when dealing with enemy drones or Okkar Swarm fighters. Instead of picking a target and moving in for the kill, you dive into a crowd with boost and fire off your devices as fast as you can, then in the chaos, pick a few off real fast. With the right setup, usually with at least a Static Discharger of some kind, you essentially become a flying Bug Zapper. Combine this brawler style gear with a long range weapon like the Shock Rifle, and you can pop enemies at range when it's safe, then melt a crowd in close. In doing this, you save on consumable resources, which can then be put to use manufacturing missiles appropriate for taking out corvettes.
