The Basics
I never finished this guide. Also the devs pulled the plug of the servers for this game so this guide is going to have [zero] use. But I found this thing and it gave me nostalgia of one of the games i've had the most fun (and one of the few I could play with my "non-gamer gf" without stressing her) so I'm uploading this in case I can give some of y'all a bit of nostalgia too.
------------------------
  • About
Zoey may be young, but she already has a great deal of power. Wielding the unpredictable Chaos Tome, Zoey's spells can come from any school of magic. Unfortunately,
she is sometimes unable to pick which one.

  • Info
    Hit Points: 450
    Mana: 285
    Primary attack: Ranged, Elemental (mixed)
Trap affinity: +25% damage on Overload Trap
Cost in Store: 1,500 gold or 12,000 skulls
Abilities

CHAOS TOME:
Her basic attack.
Zoey shoots small particles with some spread, similar to Gabriella.
Her attack, by itself, is a bit weak - she has a slow attack speed and doesn't do high damage, so, don't forget to abuse her skills (the right way).

The important part: using her skills BOOK CLUB, CHAOS BLAST and TRIAL AND ERROR changes her School of Magic (changing her basic attack randomly to one of the following - fire, ice, arcane, lightning). By doing that, she also gains a 4.0 sec buff on her attack speed (and that's what you're trying to maintain the whole match).

BOOK CLUB:
.
  • cooldown: 10 seconds
  • cost: 40 mana
Zoey swings her book to the right, dealing physical damage and knocking her enemies (big minions only get knocked a bit and bosses/mercenaries wont get knocked at all). If she hits something (minions, bosses, mercs, staffs, unstable rifts) with this skill, she changes randomly her school of magic.

This skill is great to deal with kobolds (if you get the timing) and to throw lots of smaller minions off edges, into your traps or away from your rift.

CHAOS BLAST:

.
  • cooldown: 10 seconds
  • cost: 45 mana
Zoey quickly fires a blast dealing damage to all enemies in a radius in front of her. Using this skill changes her school of magic (even if she doesn't hit anything).

This skill is the greatest thing about her. It's casted instantly, changes your school of magic (giving a bonus on DPS for a while) and deals damage to a large area of minions (the best thing to get rid of these kobolds).
Oh, it's also useful for when you just need to change your school of magic because your current one won't damage enemies (e.g. you're doing fire damage against fire minions)

FEEBEE'S WRATH:

.
  • cooldown: 90 seconds
  • cost: 90 mana
Zoey enters her book (making her invulnerable during this skill). When she does that, her firebat starts doing damage inside the marked area. It deals damage from every school of magic (fire, lightning, arcane, ice), giving fire DPS, lightning chaining, arcane bonus and freezing.

Good news, everyone: it kills lots of stuff and can bring minions together at level 10; bad news, everyone: it has a terrible cooldown. Use it wisely (a.k.a use it at crowds, but don't leave your 'E' in the dust). You can solo a lane easily with it.

P.S: check your minimap before using this skill - it can't be cancelled. So, if you use this skill and some other lane needs help while Feebee is still doing his berserk thing, you just can't stop it. Minions are going to pass your rift and you can't move while using it. *sob*

TRIAL AND ERROR:
[nothing to show]
Zoey searches and casts a random buff/debuff upon herself. Using this skill changes her School of magic.
The chances are:
  • HP Regen
  • Mana Regen
  • Damage Buff
  • Shield
  • Movement speed buff
  • debuff Stun

This skill is... okay, I guess. The good part:
-you have a 5/6 chance to get a buff
-HP and Mana Regen might be useful for when you can't run and recover
-damage buff plus the attack speed buff from changing school of magic is great
-movement speed buff might save your life
The not-so-good part:
-Unlike BOOK CLUB and CHAOS BLAST, this skill isn't instant cast. While you're casting (I think it is a 1 second delay), you can't attack - obviously decreasing your DPS (unless you're lucky compensating it by getting Damage Buff, but again: it's all on luck).
-Shield won't be that useful. It doesn't last that much to actually tank something and, well, it's not wise to cast a spell that might stun you close to an enemy, right?
-Obviously, the 1/6 chance of getting stunned. It decreases your DPS, can put your life in risk and, worst, your rift in risk.
I usually just use this skill for when I need to quickly change my school of magic (e.g dealing fire damage on fire minions) and/or I'm too far from my enemies to use BOOK CLUB.
But, well, if you play safe and can count on your teammates (lol i wish), you can put SHIFT on your "spam list".

(passive) FEEBEE THE FIREBAT

Her passive is, huh, having a pet. He's a Firebat. His name is Feebee. Not much to say, I guess.
Oh, Feebee fires at enemies using Zoey's current School of magic. He deals a decent amount of damage and, guess what? You don't need to AIM or even be firing at someone for him to attack.
let's just throw our gaming mice away
Also as said before you gain an attack speed buff when you change your School of magic.

I circled on the last pic the different ways you can see your current School of magic. I've seen people that couldn't tell when a Zoey was shooting lightning or ice...
Feebee changes his skin tone for the current school of magic (red=fire, purple=arcane, light-blue=ice, dark-blue=lightning), your Chaos tome also changes its aura and you can see shown above your HP a symbol of the current School of magic.
Upgrades

These are your options. What to choose? I'm giving a short and a longer answer (for my most committed Zoeys).
Short answer: B, G, B, T/B

Longer answer:
At level 2
you're usually going for B (Chapter 3). Higher attack speed buff = less need to use skills/spend mana.
The thing is: if you don't play safe and you're betting this match is going to last until you're at least level 7 (and you're not dealing with REALLY HIGH HP minions), you can have fun choosing T (Chapter 1). This way, every time you change your magic school, you get a little HP. You can tank a bit with that.

At level 4
the obvious option is G (Chapter 5). Feebee's going to DOUBLE his DPS.
T (Chapter 4) could be ok, but you're not going to need so much Mana at level 7. B (Chapter 6) is just meh. Only useful if you did a full BOOK CLUB build (and that can be fun - yet weak).

At level 7
things get neat. Get B (Chapter 9) and don't even ask me why.
Ok, I'm telling why: you don't need to spend Mana and spells at smaller groups of enemies just to get att. speed buff. Also you start bursting almost like 4 different spell types at once. You get chaining for lightning, fire DPS on everyone you hit, chill/freeze and arcane bonus (for that friendly Gabriella, Oziel, Stinkeye of dragon's lance). Your usefulness is taken to another level.
The other options are kind of lazy. More damage on BOOK CLUB only if you're doing that weak melee build and more TRIAL AND ERROR buff duration if you missclicked.

At level 10
the only actual option you have: I usually go for B (Appendix) when I'm playing against masses of enemies, because it can pull lots of minions into your killbox (well, IF they survive your FEEBEE'S WRATH)...
or can do T (Chapter 10), when I'm playing with high HP minions that wont get killed that easily and are going far into my rift. Remember level 4 and Chapter 5? With that, not only Feebee is going to do 2x damage, but also he's going to slow a bunch of enemies. Win/win.
