Grappling Whips

描述
Ever wanted to swing from your whip like Indiana Jones? Now you can!

Enhances default whip behaviour so they can grapple onto any light source and swing.
Regular attack and any alt abilities are unaffected.

Non-Steam Version[community.playstarbound.com]

Original "grapple+swing" code by Chucklefish's metadept
"any light source grappling" code by LoPhatKao

Most likely incompatible with other mods that change the "whipcrack" attack/ability.
Any modded whip that does not change whipcrack should work, and use this by default.

Confirmed compatible whip mods:
Whipcraft
Saryx E-Type Whip

Known Issues:
holding left or right slowly stretches whip
with strangely shaped lights, whip may anchor in thin air

How do I..?
  • aim cursor near a light
  • click and hold attack
  • swing and release

<+metadept> there's the script for my modified version of the whip primary fire
<+metadept> might or might not work with the current version but it did at one point if anyone wants to make a mod for it

I like it but I found it very clunky to use. When the whip anchors to the light, you cannot walk left or right, or jump, or shorten the length of the whip, which makes swinging very difficult, if not near impossible.

if possible it'd be so nice to see hit detection for the grapple somehow improve. i've no clue how that sort of thing works, but it'd be great to see swinging become easier.

im pretty sure this already happens
i was using the arachne race mod and i could already do this with the web whip im not sure if its just that whip or its already in game but im pretty sure this already happens
