Qvadriga Modding Guide
By Chief
Qvadriga can be hard. Here's a little help for save edit. You can change skills, chariots, horses, names, province, victories, money BUT Qvadriga remains relatively fair with the save edit, because the game is programmed that the AI is quite similar to your auriga skills & equipment. Nevertheless, it helps because you have the best of the best aurigas & equipment and can thereby also achieve the best in a race. It depends on the experience.

IMPORTANT: make a backup from campaign_(your campaign name)

Open campaign_(your campaign name) with Notepad++
C:/Programme(x86)/SteamApps/common/Qvadriga/campaign_(your campaign name)

There are 1 or 2 lines at the beginning and later a few lines more because city travel. Scroll carefully to the right until you see something like this. It's pretty much at the beginning and your Aurigas are always the first.

e:2¬c:2¬m:2¬r:2¬f:2¬g:2¬A:3¬C1:1¬VE:2¬VI:4¬PE:0¬NO:(your Auriga Name)¬NA:Hispanic¬TR:3|

Each of your aurigas has these codes. The size depends on the auriga skill & equipment.
NOTE: You need at least one symbol (star, heart, hammer, blood etc...) for a visible coding.
That means you have to buy equipment that has at least one symbol. Then you can change it from 1 to 2. First comes auriga skills, chariot, horses. Then comes the auriga name, province and victories (for better explanation see below).

e:2Â
> Auriga Skills (2 Stars)
c:2Â
> Auriga Constitution (2 Heart)
m:2Â
> Chariot Size (2 Hammer)
r:2Â
> Chariot Quality (2 Lightning)
f:2Â
> Horse Speed (2 Arrows)
g:2Â
> Horse Endurance (2 Blood Drops)
NO:
> Auriga Name (XYZ)
NA:
> Auriga Province (Hispanic)
TR:3
> Auriga Victorys (3 Victory)

Cheat Money
That's easy. You just have to buy cheap aurigas and equipment and then use save edit to maximize skill & equipment. After this just sell it.

Rename Aurigas
It's a little bit complicated because the coding. The code may be different than the name.
You can do the following:
> Start a campaign and write your 3 names. Leave the game and open campaign_(your campaign name) with Notepad++
> Copy the coding of your 3 names, for example at a word document and change (if your auriga died) the vanilla named aurigas exactly in this notation. You can repeat that if you want more names.

Circus Maximus
It's hard for a beginner. Traveling to the circus maximus requires many victories. Especially in the epic campaign you get less fame and money. In the epic campaign, you must still have to be the auriga with the most victories. If you are just unlucky you can easy change your victories via save edit and you climb directly in the local and global rankings.

I could change auriga names midgame by simple renaming them in the campaign file without the code copy/paste method. Existing aurigas that are on the top list might be mentioned twice in the file.

There is also a last section that keeps track of auriga names, my guess this is there to prevent you from getting the same names over and over again. I didn´t change anything there.

At some point I wished Qvadriga was moddable somehow. I think I'm gonna try this next time I decide to start a campaign. In fact, I think this could actually make some situations a bit more fair since more than once during late game I ran into entire grids of "perfect" aurigas with all the possible upgrades meanwhile I always lacked at least one.

@King Crimson
.....do you mean if one of my current aurigas gets killed, I can hire a new one with one of my created named auriga?

Yeah, this one. If your original auriga was killed in action, easy buy a new nwamed vanilla one and change the name again to your original auriga name

I'm a little confused about changing auriga's names. I created three new charioteers with names. I copied the code for all three names, then what do I do with that code? There are several other differently named aurigas listed under my codes, are they the vanilla aurigas you mentioned? And what does changing auriga's names do anyway...do you mean if one of my current aurigas gets killed, I can hire a new one with one of my created named auriga?
