[0.21][Spoiler Free]A Beginner's Guide to Warframe
By Wyldbill
After one too many posts on the Warframe reddit asking the same questions not answered by a rather outdated guide, I've decided to put some time into making the ultimate guide, which I plan to keep updated throughout the games lifetime.

Quickstart
For new players who just want a bulleted list of things to keep in mind.

  • Use your starter platinum to buy slots (1 Warframe slot, 2 sets of Weapon slots)
  • The weapons you skip during the tutorial can be bought from the market for around 15k credits.
  • All Frames, weapons, companions, landing crafts, Archwings, and Mods can be obtained in the game without spending money.
  • The foundry can hold as many built items as you can make, the only negative being you cannot build more than one of the same item unless you redeem the first one.
  • While tempting early on, do NOT spend platinum on resources. The hardest part about obtaining them is merely playing the planet they drop on comfortably.
-----New Players Start Here-----
Foreward
Warframe has had constant updates for the three years it has been released, because of this there is a lot to go over.

Please don't feel like you need to read the entire thing in one go, in fact I highly suggest staying above the "Done with Vor's Prize" section until you've actually completed the quest (Already started when you first begin playing). Afterwards, I suggest scanning the names of the sections just to familiarize yourself with at least a basic idea of some of the features.

Finally, I've tried to organize the guide in a fashion I believe new players should concern themselves with. If you don't have anything in mind, I suggest reading the guide in this order:

  1. New Players Start Here - While downloading the Game
  2. The Basics - Before or During Vor's Prize.
  3. Starting Out - Before or During Vor's Prize
  4. Done with Vor's Prize - After finishing the Tutorial (Vor's Prize)
  5. Warframe Encyclopedia - After "Done with Vor's Prize"
How "F2P" Really is this Game?
Everything that changes how the game plays (Weapons, different Warframes, Companions, Mods, etc.) is available within the game, albeit occasionally not currently available.

Why is Platinum (Premium Currency) even in the game then?

Digital Extremes wouldn't be making the game if they didn't get some money out of it, Platinum is used to buy 95% of the aesthetics in the game and if a players chooses to (But I highly recommend against it) Prebuilt weapons and Warframes.

What's the Catch

While not a pipe dream, Warframe has very little consequences for not spending cash. F2P users will have to craft all their items with resources and a timer. Crafting is very open ended however and you can keep building as long as you have the resources for it.
The Only Catch (AKA Slots)
While I tried to make it clear everything that affects the game is obtainable through the game, there is one thing that can only really be obtained by using Platinum and that is slots

The Nature of Slots

As of writing this guide, there is 344 different weapons, 31 unique (Not including Primed) Warframes, 25 Sentinels and Sentinel Weapons, 5 Kubrows, 2 Kavats, 5 Archwings, and 14 Arch-Weapons

That's certainly no small amount, and while more weapons is actually better for other aspects of the game there is pressure to keep your favorites as the only way to re-obtain them is by going through the same process it took to obtain it in the first place.

Why Play the Game Then?

Even though you need platinum to obtain slots, players can trade platinum to other players for mods, items, and various unique weapons and parts. Eventually players can get to a point where they can obtain valuable items and start trading for Platinum bought by other players to be spent on whatever they want.

For more information, please read "Trading"

Obtaining Slots

There are two ways to earn slots.

Players can buy slots generally one at a time by using the "Inventory" menu located in the ESC menu (Equipment > Inventory). Select the category of item you want to buy slots for using the tabs at the top and select the "Buy Slots" button in the top left corner. Prices vary and when buying Weapon, Arch-Weapons, or Sentinel slots, players will recieve two instead of one.

Note: If players try to retrieve an item from their Forge and they are out of slots, they will be prompted to buy slots on the spot.

Players technically recieve a slot whenever they earn a weapon as part of an event. While players can sell this weapon (But for the love of god, get it to max rank first) it's generally suggested against as re-obtaining it will be difficult / impossible.

If a player accidently sells something they want to keep, one can try to contact support within a week or so and they may get it back.
Priorities as a New Player
As you start playing Warframe, you may feel rushed to progress to end game content. I cannot stress this enough but take your time! The end game content is not going to go anywhere and you'll have to play the game just to build up a stock of common resources. Take your time learning all the features of the game as there is many of them and just get lost in the setting and mystery.

If you are worried about the choices you make at the start of the game, there is only one possible decision that you will regret later involving how you spend your starter platinum. Other then that, pick whichever Warframe appeals to you (Short descriptions are included below) and spend your time memorizing controls.

The ONLY thing you will regret doing

When you start playing Warframe, you are given 50 platinum. Platinum is the premium currency in Warframe and while you do not need it to unlock anything that changes the game, there is stupid buys in the market which everyone will regret getting.

  • Do NOT spend your platinum on resources
  • Do NOT spend your platinum on rushing crafting items
  • Do NOT buy premade weapons or frames
  • Do NOT spend your starter platinum on aesthetics
  • Buying Orokin Reactor's and Catalysts are generally not a bad investment, but definetely not a priority early on.

Generally, the best use of your starter platinum is on some mix of weapon and warframe slots. My personal suggestion would be to buy: One Warframe Slot and Two Sets of Weapon Slots (Weapon slots come in packs of two so you'll end up with four more).

Starting out on Warframe isn't always the easiest but hang in there, the game is well fleshed out but even DE acknowledges early game is rather daunting to newer players and is currently looking at improving the experience. In the meanwhile feel free to comment on this guide if you have any questions, regardless of how long you've played this game, and I'll answer them as well as I can.
-----Starting Out-----
Warframe
"After centuries of sleep you are awake. Your Warframe armor is weak. Your skills all but forgotten. A Grineer General, Vor, stands over you. "You are mine, Tenno!""
--Vor's Prize Quest Description

Welcome to Warframe, you start out getting to pick your first Warframe (Think of it as your character). Whoever you pick determines your stats and abilities, don't fret over missing out on content as you can later build the other two warframes. I will however discuss your abilities and rate each one on easiest to hardest (That being said, picking the hardest frame doesn't mean you will have a major disadvantage, only that to reach your full potential you'll have to play the game a bit).

Before I get into each of the starter frames, here's a breakdown of what each stat means.

  • Health
This stat displays how much damage you can take before you are forced into the Downed state
  • Shield
This stat is used up before your health, it refills naturally if you avoid damage for a short time. If depleted, you start taking damage to your health but will come back eventually out of combat.
  • Armor
This stat (After a calculation) is used to reduce the percentage of damage dealt to your health. Let's just say higher is better and get on with this
  • Energy
This stat shows your energy capacity which controls how often you can use your abilities.

    Excalibur

    Health (Max)
    Shield (Max)
    Armor
    Energy (Max)
    Overall Rating
    100 (300)
    100 (300)
    225
    100 (150)
    7/10

    Starter Frame

Excalibur is generally the best all around starter frame in the game. That being said, he is still a solid choice for later in the game and has both CC potential and pretty powerful abilities.

    Slash Dash
Excaliburs' first ability, it launches him towards enemies in front of him, slicing enemies with an ethereal blade once and then moving on to the next.

    Radial Blind
Excaliburs' second ability, raising his ethereal sword high Excalibur blinds surrounding enemies causing them to rely on sound to attack

TIP: When blinded, enemies will attack in the direction of sounds. Firing your gun will cause them to attack towards you. Using your melee weapon silently dispatches enemies allowing you to stay relatively safe.

    Radial Javelin
Striking his ethereal blade into the ground, Excalibur impales all enemies surrounding him.

TIP: This ability requires Line of Sight (LOS), this means enemies behind walls and in cover will not be affected.

    Exalted Blade
Channeling his energy, Excalibur equips his ethereal blade to attack enemies

TIP: This abillity is very powerful but will drain your energy early on in the game. Eventually you'll be practically living in this ability.

In Closing, Excalibur is the "Easiest" frame to start with. He comes with a reasonable amount of health and his abilities make him useful into late game.

    Mag

    Health (Max)
    Shield (Max)
    Armor
    Energy (Max)
    Overall Rating

    5/10

    Starter Frame

Mag is supposed to fill the role of Support amongst the beginner frames but later fills a very specialized role. She was recently reworked and I don't use her often but here's her abilities and I'll try to supplement with usage.

    Pull
Mag grabs enemies in her LoS and yanks them towards her, more often then not they fly past you but this ability is excellent for keeping enemies from firing at you.

    Magnetize
Mag causes an enemy to be surrounded by a magnetic bubble, redirecting fire coming from both friend and foe back into the targeted enemy.

    Polarize
Mag creates a wave that expands from herself, damaging both enemy shields and armor. Armor becomes fractured and will fall onto the ground, using Magnetize around these shards causes them to fly into the target and deal extra damage.

    Crush
Mag's ultimate ability, she lifts up all foes around her crushing their bones and slamming them into the ground. Enemies lose part of their armor stat and are forced into the ground, requiring them to stand back up before fighting.

NOTE: The casting animation for Crush is abysmal, leaving Mag wide open to damage from any enemies not afflicted.

Mag is probably the worst choice for beginners, especially if you are going to play solo. That being said, she does have some interesting game mechanics and destroying armor is a very useful ability especially later on.

    Volt

    Health (Max)
    Shield (Max)
    Armor
    Energy (Max)
    Overall Rating
    100 (300)
    150 (450)

    100 (150)
    6/10

    Starter Frame

Volt is a Utility frame, His abilities are useful for defending objectives and in general supplement his allies damage.

    Shock
Volt fires an electric bolt at the target location, bouncing between nearby enemies and stunning them, forcing them to be stunned.

NOTE: This ability can be used without interrupting actions like reloading your gun.

    Speed
Volt increases the melee attack speed and movement speed of allies and himself in an area.

NOTE: This ability can be a little cumbersome, especially at higher power stats.

    Electric Shield
Volt creates an electrified wall in front of him, blocking all enemy projectiles. Firing through the shield will cause each shot to recieve an added electric damage bonus. The shield can be picked up and moved however it drains energy constantly at an increased rate depending on how fast you move.

    Discharge
Volt releases a wave of energy which turns enemies into Tesla Coils. Enemies afflicted will immediately get stunned and electrocute enemies around them, dealing damage in an area.

Volt is a good choice for players planning on playing in a group, his Electric Shield enables him to play well in objective based missions like Defense and Mobile Defense.
Movement in Warframe
Warframe has a rather typical movement system for the most part, that is until you go into parkour.

Basic Movement

*Assuming default keys*

  • W - Forward
  • A - Strafe Left
  • S - Back
  • D - Strafe Right
  • Left Shift - Run
  • Space Bar - Jump
  • Left Ctrl - Crouch

Parkour

These are more advanced movements for navigating around in the world, generally requiring the player to be near a certain feature in the world for them to happen.

  • Shift x2 = Roll
  • Running along or at a wall + Space (Repeatedly) = Wall hopping*
  • While running forward + Left Control = Slide
  • While in the air, Space = Double Jump
  • While in the air, Hold Right Mouse = Glide
  • While in the air next to a wall, Hold Right Mouse = Wall Grab
  • Jumping up to a ledge + Space = Mantle
  • Left Control + Space = Bullet Jump**

* Wall hopping occurs when you rub up against a wall and press space repeatedly, depending on whether you are running perpendicularly or parallel to a wall changes which direction you go.

** Bullet Jumping is a very useful technique to navigate mainly vertically in the game world. The direction you go is based off of where the camera is pointed, looking straight down will instead launch you high into the air as if you looked up first
Weapons
You now have your choice of Warframe, but we aren't done. Throughout the first mission you get your choice of two Primaries, two Sidearms, and two Melees.

Primary

MK1-Braton
A full auto rifle, practically bottom of the barrel but better than punching things.

MK1-Paris
A bow, has better damage than the MK1-Braton but falls short on crowds.

Verdict
I would chose the MK1-Braton as a starter here, the bow does do more damage but you'll run into crowds far more often than high health enemies. The bow IS silent but we address that with sidearms.

Sidearm

Lato
The Lato is a starter weapon so you don't expect much, it really puts the entire "Sidearm" category to shame with just how pitiful it is. Still, it's something you use in a pinch and early on it'll keep you warm while you are on the ground.

MK1-Kunai
Throwing knives, projectiles fly slowly and in an arch but is completely silent and deals better damage than the Lato. Stealth kills also award extra Affinity (think of it as experience) and after a few mods enables you to really rack up the points.

Verdict
I would pick the MK1-Kunai, besides the fact that having a silent weapon with you is convenient it is in general better than the Lato after some practice.

Melee

Skana
A sword weapon, very average with a relatively short attack range.

MK1-Bo
A staff weapon, this quarterstaff features a longer range and higher damage than the Skana but is slower.

Verdict
I would chose the Bo, range is very nice when it comes to melee weapons and you are always better off killing an enemy in one go when it comes to close combat.

At this point, enjoy the setting and as much of the story of Warframe that is divulged throughout "Vor's Prize". In closing, here's some suggestions provided by The Lotus on completion of the quest to keep in mind.

"...You have a new mission, one of your own making. Know that I am only your guide, you are your own warrior, you decide what battles to fight. Allow me to suggest a course of action:

Seek out like-minded fighters, Tenno are more effective in groups.

Execute missions and alerts on the Star Chart to open new paths of exploration.

Use the credits you earned in battle to buy blueprints in the Market, then hunt down resources and craft those items in your Foundry.

Customize your weapons and Warframes using the Mod bench. Different enemies are vulnerable to different combinations of mods, experiment to discover the most effective loadouts.

Finally, stay alert. The Grineer and Corpus are tireless and you are the only thing standing between them and total domination of the Origin System.

I am counting on you, Tenno."
--The Lotus
-----The Basics-----
The HUD
HUD stands for "Heads-up Display", in video games everything you see that isn't part of the game world (Health, Energy, Minimap, and Ammo counter) is part of your HUD. As in all games, being able to read this information on the fly is important, this section will discuss the key points.

Player Status (Top-Right A)

In the top right corner, you have the players Shields and Health. Occasionally if you are inflicted with a Buff or Debuff, you'll see Blue and Red icons to the left of it.

Companion Status (Right A)

Under your health, you have the Health bar of your Companion (Read "Introduction to Companions") as well as the health bar of your allies (I believe if you press z, the health bars will show up). Fellow Tenno will display buffs applied by you next to their name.

Ammo Counter (RIght B)
The numbers here shows the current amount of ammo you have in your gun and how much ammo you have in reserve. Beneath that you have the name of your gun, the level, and an experience bar (Not shown here).

Powers and Energy (Below B)
All tenno have acces to their own set of powers, the icons all signify a different power. the blue icon is your currently selected power. Beneath the icons is both a bar and a number, The bar is a visual representation of how much energy you have left while the number is your exact count.

Loot Feed (Below D)
Whenever you pick up a resource or credits, for a short time you can see what you picked up and how much at the bottom of the screen.

Objective counters (Left C)
Depending on whatever mission you play, this feature changes. I took this screenshot on a Rescue mission which involves freeing an NPC from a prison and escorting them to Evac.

Minimap (Above C)
Your friend, the minimap. Look at it often to figure out where to go on missions and for important information on the area around you.

Consoles will only show up on your minimap in two situations, the map has to either be Alerted (Enemies sounded an alarm and are aware of the player) or when the map is on Lockdown (Enemies sealed the player into a room in an attempt to stop them). The icon is White when the map is alerted and Yellow when the map is on lockdown.

Normally, you won't see Enemies or Loot on the minimap without using certain Mods (Covered in the "Basics of Farming" section), they show up as Red arrows and small box icons respectively.

Mod Details (Not Shown)
Whenever you pick up a mod, a window will appear on the mid right section of the screen. This gives you a quick idea of what mod you just got and disappears after three seconds or so.

Transmissions (Not Shown)
Whenever the player recieves instruction from the Lotus or taunts from an enemy, Windows will appear on the Mid-Left and Mid-Right sides of the screen, come with subtitles, and can be muted in options.

Escape Menu
Whenever you press the ESC key on your keyboard, a menu will open. While there's no real reason to do this during missions, there is three different locations out of battle which change the contents.

If an option in the ESC menu is followed by ***, clicking it will open another menu.

On Your Ship
In between missions, Tenno are returned to their Orbiter. Pressing the ESC key here will open the screenshot you see above, with some clicking you can access everything in your ship from this menu. However, as of now everything of interest is close enough together players are much better off walking to everything unless they have memorized where the buttons are.

Navigation
Selecting this menu will take you directly to the Galaxy Map (Located at the front of your Orbiter)

Equipment
  • Arsenal - Takes you to your loadout screen (Down the ramp and straight ahead)
  • Foundry - Takes you to your crafting station (Down the ramp, directly right)
  • Inventory - Opens up your inventory screen, this is the only way to get to it
  • Mods - Takes you to your mod collection (Down the ramp, directly left)
  • Abilities - Takes you to a menu that shows you your abilities stats
  • Landing Craft*** - Opens another menu which gives you access to customizing the outside of your Liset, and the inside of your Orbiter

Market
Takes your character to the Market window (The desk on the right when going up the ramp).

Communication
  • Friends
  • Clan
  • Inbox

Quests
Takes you to the codex desk (Up the ramp and directly left) and opens the Quests tab.

Profile
  • Codex - Takes you to the codex desk (Desk on the left when going up the ramp)
  • My Profile - Opens a summary of your profile (There is an easier way to get here)
  • Syndicates - Takes you to the Syndicate console (Unlocks at MR3, Behind Codex Desk)
  • Leaderboards - Opens a weekly leaderboard menu for clans
  • Profile Icon - Allows you to change your profile icon to any previously purchased one.
  • Logout - Takes you to the login screen (Useful for picking up your daily login)

Options
Opens the options window. I'll talk about more personal customizations in the options menu later, for now if your game runs poorly turn settings down, if not pick them up.
Galaxy Map and Mission Tab
Accessed from the front of your ship, it is important for players to be able to read the information within.

  • A - Top left corner of the screen you'll see the menu button, game privacy settings, and the Party UI.
  • B - Mission Tab
  • B1 - Alerts
  • B2 - Invasions
  • B3 - Syndicate Alerts
  • B4 - Void Fissures
  • B5 - Sortie
  • C - Extractor

Details

Mission Privacy and Party

Rather straightforward, clicking the matchmaking window will open a drop down menu containing the following options: Public, Friends Only, Invite Only, and Solo. Public wil try to pair your party with other players, Friends Only blocks players from joining your game except for people on your Friends list, Invites Only blocks everyone from joining unless the host sends out an invite, and Solo blocks all players from joining your game and heavily cuts down on bandwidth usage.

Each icon in the top left signifies a player in your party, you'll always see at least one (which is your icon). Players can be invited to the party by either clicking the + button next to your player icon or by using the command /invite [Name].

Tip
If you really don't plan on playing with anyone, playing Solo enables the player to pause the game by pressing ESC during a mission.

Mission Tab

Acolytes - While not always available, Acolytes hide on certain nodes until discovered by the player base, once there players will have to search the map for the Acolyte and defeat them for a chance at some of the more unique mods.

Alerts - Time limited events, Alerts change the reward and mission on a random node somewhere in the galaxy. Players that complete the alert are rewarded whatever is listed in this screen.

Note
Players can only receive the reward once, and are unable to queue up the mission after completion. However, they can still choose to help other players during the mission if they receive an invite.

Invasions

Occasionally the three main factions vie for control over nodes throughout the galaxy. The winners of the node (at least used to) take over the location until the next Invasion. Players are given a choice of which faction to support with each one offering a unique reward for playing so many missions on their side. At the end of the invasion, regardless of which faction wins, the player is given their reward through their inbox.

Syndicate Alerts

Only available after players become a high enough rank within a Syndicate, playing these missions rewards the player with a large amount of standing which does not count towards the daily cap. Hidden throughout these missions are Medallions which can be collected and traded in on Relays to gain an extra amount of Standing.

Void Fissures

Occasoinally you may find relics as rewards, to open these players will have to play a Void Fissure map from the same Era the relic is. Selecting one of these missions brings up a menu showing you your relics and allowing you to see what rewards a relic has a chance to give you on completion.

During the mission, the objective will not change however clumps of enemies will cause tears to appear throughout the map. These tears power up enemies but also gives them a chance to drop Reactants (Small orange orbs) on death, picking up 10 opens the relic and gives the player a reward from the drop table shown before the mission.

Sorties

Three high level missions, Sorties give access randomly to one unique reward a day. Each level features a unique modifier to make it harder like extra Eximus Enemies (Eximus Stronghold) or causng all damage to have a chance to inflict Radiation on the player.

Note
If you look at the reward pool for a Sortie, you may have noticed a some of them have dashes and others have boxes. The ones with boxes can only be obtained once a season while the ones with dashes are always an applicable reward. If the player obtains one of these rewards, instead of making the drop table less saturated the game will technically keep it as a potential drop. If the player manages to land on it again they are instead given either a x25 or x50 R5 Fusion Core reward.

Extractors

Once the player fully completes a planet (Played all the nodes) they are able to deploy automated extractors to gather resources for them while offline. Extractors take 4 or 8 hours to finish gathering, at that point players will have to recover the Extractor before it can collect more resources. Extractors take damage while active (But not once they finish harvesting), it's generally prudent to keep one or two extra extractors to rotate through to allow them to recover (Inactive Extractors recover health over time). Blueprints for extractors are obtained from the Market.

Note
Hovering your mouse over the extractor button allows the player to see which resources are available on the planet. While this is useful for when determining where to plant an Extractor, these same resources will also appear as drops from enemies killed by the player during missions.
Mission Summary Screen
At the end of every mission, you are greeted with the following screen:

The two tabs at the top, Progress & Rewards and Syndicate Standings open up two seperate windows. Syndicate Standings unlocks at MR2 and is just four windows that shows an increase or decrease in points.

The six windows below the tabs represent all of your equipped gear. Maxed level gear will be missing the experience gauge and exp counters. Look at Titania, the Dark Blue experience bar denotes previously accrued exp, the light blue experience bar shows the exp earned during the mission, and the gold experience is the bonus for completing the mission.

Below those windows, you have from left to right: Item Rewards, Mod Rewards, and stats. While self explanatory, I will say you can scroll through the loot in case you end up with more items than your screen can show.
Obtaining Platinum
Platinum is the premium currency in Warframe. While you can pay for it with money, I only suggest doing so in certain cases. More commonly, players trade other players items for platinum.

Buying Platinum
  • Rarely while logging in, players can receive a 48 hour platinum discount. It's suggested to wait for the 75% discount and then buying (At minimum) the twenty dollar pack, now discounted to 5. Anything less and you won't be able to make much use of your new platinum.
  • The mods offered for buying large packs of platinum are also available to players in-game, once again after farming. For the most part, they are not worth anything extra so don't feel compelled to buy the larger packs purely for these mods.

Trading for Platinum

Please read the "Trading" section of the guide.
-----Done with Vor's Prize, Now What?-----
Etiquette
As per the Lotus's suggestion, set your game to public (in the galaxy map, select the drop down menu in the top left corner of the screen and you'll have your pick of Public, Friends only, Invite Only, and Solo) and start playing missions. However there is a bit of a code of honor that is generally understood between the players so before you go out there and stumble upon them read this section.

  • Don't use the timer right when you queue up a mission, it's better for everyone if the team is prepared.

  • Whenever you come upon an elevator in a mission, if it's the only way to continue through the map (You'll learn which ones are like this eventually), it is frowned on leaving people behind. Elevators are already annoying and no one wants to double that time because the door got slammed on them. That being said, if you know someone is busy exploring the map for one reason or another you can make a case to leave them behind. As a rule of thumb though, if you are a new player and somehow manage to beat people to an elevator, wait for everyone to catch up.

  • Endless missions (Missions that in theory can go on forever) have a silently understood duration. Due to the nature of their rewards, Survival missions tend to last 20 minutes in a group, Defense missions tend to go for 20 waves, Interception missions usually go for 4 rounds and Excavation has a very odd reward scheme of 3+4n (First opportunity to leave is 3 and then every four drills afterwards). That being said, if you explain to people at the start of these missions that you would like to leave early or explain to people a few minutes before you actually plan on leaving people may understand and leave the mission at that time with you.

  • "Don't be a Hallway Hero" - This is a term reserved for players who stray from the group intentionally. More recently DE added a counter that appears by your health in missions to signify players still in Affinity range, if you end up out of this range because you stray away from the group, try to get in range of allies again. Note that this mostly applies to "Endless" missions, in things like Exterminate and Capture, players tend to be rather indifferent.

Using the Chat
Now that you are out of the Tutorial you are free to play practically every mission in a group. To find one you'll have to either use the various chats available to you from your ship or luck into another player playing on a node publically. Most of the chats are rather self explanatory but I'll cover it anyways.

Realize that the chat window can be moved using the tab bar at the top of it and resized by click and holding the bottom right or top right of it (Realize that I mean the Chat window, not the player list located next to it on the right when it is expanded).

Chat Tabs

Clan Chat

Becomes visible when joining a Clan, this chat consists of all online clan members.

Alliance Chat

Becomes visible when you are a part of a Clan that is part of an Alliance, contains the combination of all the clan members part of your alliance.

Region Chat

This chat contains all online users part of your region currently on their ship. Two notes, you can change your region in the options, which also changes who you talk to in Trading and Recruitment chat, as well as completely disable Region chat.

Recruitment Chat

This is where you'll be spending most of your time while actually playing missions, chat here is restricted to people trying to set up groups for missions and for clans to advertise for new members. Commonly used phrases:

  • LF - Looking For
  • H> or H - Hosting

Trade Chat

Chat here is restricted to players trying to buy, sell, or trade items. Prices are determined by the players and tend to fluctuate with every update that changes any drop tables. Commonly used Phrases:

  • WTB - Willing to Buy
  • WTS - Willing to Sell
  • WTT - Willing to Trade
  • LF - Looking for
  • p - Platinum

Trade chat has a 3 minute restriction on how often you can message people through it. Because of this, if you want to contact someone for their item, whisper them by either finding their name in the player list, left click it and select talk, or use the /w command (Explained Below)

Chat Commands

There is a variety of commands players can use through the chat, while they vary in usefulness there is a few that should be memorized. They are listed in the order I believe they should be memorized in.

Realize that if you see part of the command surrounded by <> you do not type the <>, it is only there to signify a unique input.

  1. /unstuck - Used during missions, if you ever manage to break out of a map or get stuck in walls, this command will teleport you back to the last known "Safe" position. Quitting your game after using this command will send an error report.
  2. /invite <user> - Used on your ship and in missions, this command sends a game invite to the listed player.
  3. /w <User> <Message> - Whispers to the specified player, these messages can only be seen by you and the receiver
  4. /profile <user> - Opens up the profile page of the listed user, tends to just be faster than finding their name and left clicking

There is many more commands, however I wouldn't bother memorizing them unless you become a chat pro.

Tip

You can remove the chat censoring through the options.

Note

While I don't believe I have to point this out, chat generally follows your standard rules of conduct, and anything you say in chat can be tracked to your account so be nice.
Mastery Rank (MR)
The most general way to describe Mastery is as your Account Level, while we know ultimately the game will have a max Mastery Rank of 30 the current max is rank 22.

Mastery points are earned by leveling up unique weapons and frames from 0 to 30. Each weapon maxed out gives you 3000 points and every Warframe maxed out nets 6000 points.

How to tell when you'll unlock the next Mastery Exam

When you are in your ship, go into the Escape menu and hover your mouse over your name. You'll see a blue bar which gives a very general idea of how far along you are to your next mastery exam. However, if you click Show Profile you'll see the picture below.

The first window in the top right tells you your current rank, How much mastery you have earned, and how much more mastery you need to unlock the rankup exam.

Clan shows the name and the size of the clan the player is part of, as well as the clan emblem (Mine is still on the default emblem)

Marked for Death tells other players who you are currently being targeted by, for farming reasons. For new players, do not worry about death marks or anything like that.

"I just sold a weapon before getting it to 30, what do I do?"

Don't fret, with few very rare cases, all weapons are reobtainable albeit with a bit of a grind. The weapons you recieve from the Tutorial can be bought from the market for around 15k credits. If you sell something that is unobtainable by normal means, i.e an event item, players can contact Warframe support within about a week and they may redeem it to your account. If you choose to do this however stay friendly.

Benefits of Increasing your Mastery Rank

Many features of the game is restricted by your Mastery Rank. In the table below, I've listed the more notable Mastery Locked features and when they become unlocked.

Mastery Level
Unlock
Mastery 2
Rhino (Warframe), Trade System, The Archwing (Quest)
Mastery 3

Miscellaneous Unlocks:
  • Increased Void Trace Cap: (MR*50)+100
  • Increased Daily Syndicate Standing Cap: (MR+1)*1000
  • Additional Resource Drones per five rank ups, caps at three.
  • Higher starting mod capacity on all items, based on your MR

If this game is all farming, where's the fun?

The main draw of Warframe is the extensive modding system which allows you to entirely change how a weapon acts and works. I won't lie and say it's not a grind game but with a mostly unfettered power cap you can easily be drawn in just to see how powerful you can make your character as well as discovering unusual uses for abilities in the game, especially after a major update, to be even more powerful.

Getting started, Easy to obtain weapons for fast farming
Those weapons you had to choose during the tutorial can be bought from the market with credits (Please read Introduction to the Market before buying) and all of the weapons currently available to you in the Market can be bought in Blueprint form and crafted on your ship. Once you hit rank 30 with a weapon, it's generally suggested that you immediately sell it (In the escape menu, Equipment < Inventory, go to the Weapons tab, click on a weapon and hit sell in the bottom right corner) and move on to a new gun. If you like a gun however, that's what the extra weapon slots are for, keep it and pull out your freshly made gun from the Foundry or buy one with credits on the market.

The Market
Even though I believe "Vor's Prize" talked about how to use the market, it doesn't do a good job explaining the exact nature of it. This section will talk about how to effectively utilize the market and minimize the amount of wasted Platinum spent, and touch on how players can earn Platinum without spending any money.

The Market and You

When you first look at the market, you'll be seeing the "Featured Items" page. Whenever new items are released (Skins, weapons, Prime Warframes) they will be displayed here.

At the bottom on the right you'll see two filter buttons "Hide Owned" and "Blueprints Only". "Hide Owned" will remove items from the market that you have already bought and are currently in your inventory. "Blueprints Only" will only show you weapons and warframes that have Blueprints you can buy. Please note that even when you select Blueprints only, you can still accidently buy an item with Platinum. It only filters out things that don't have Blueprints, it doesn't block out the Buy with Platinum button.

Prime Access

Practically at any point when you look at the market you'll be seeing "------- Prime Access Pack". In Warframe, occasionally there are large content updates introducing newer versions of current Warframes and Weapons. Lore wise these are the "Proto-type" Warframes from back when the Orokin Empire was thriving. Even though you could spend $50 to buy the new Primed Items immediately, they are also instantly available within the game, albeit by farming Relics for parts to build the new primed warframe and weapons. The only unique thing to Prime Access is whatever aesthetic is packaged with it at the time.

Weapons and Warframes

In the market, you can buy prebuilt Weapons and Warframes. Buying prebuilt weapons will also come with a slot and a preinstalled Orokin Reactor or Orokin Catalyst (Reactors are for Warframes, Catalysts are for Weapons). Realize buying them in this way has an egregious upcharge in platinum overall and is never really worth it, what is far more reasonable is to pay for the Blueprint of an item.

In the picture on the left, you can see one of the few weapons that can be bought fully built with Credits, buying these weapons will not give you a slot or an Orokin Catalyst, but then you don't have to wait to build it and didn't spend any real cash.

In the picture on the right you'll see a weapon that can be bought with platinum and a button buying the blueprint with credits. Clicking the blueprint button will switch the tab to show you what resources you need to build it and will require one more click to buy the blueprint.

Market Exclusive Items

The only things you can only obtain through the market is Aesthetics, Slots, Most of the Color Palettes, and most of the skins. That being said there are options for F2P Tenno to get certain aesthetics, it's just they are not always available.

Earning Platinum In-game

Players can trade items and mods to each other in exchange for Platinum. Please read the "Trading" section of this guide for more information.
Foundry
While introduced in the tutorial players aren't given very much information on the finer details of the Foundry. Fortunately there isn't very many secret features and no "hidden fees" that may snooker players into either spending platinum or accidently build things.

  • A - Various Filters for all your Blueprints
  • B - Search Bar and Sort By (To the far right)
  • C - A Blueprint, shown within is the Name, how many owned, the material cost, credit cost to build (Bottom left), and time to build (Bottom left).
  • D - Arcanes (Obtained from Raids, discussed later), Components - Opens a window that displays all of your resources, and Tutorial.

Notes:
  • You can have as many blueprints as you want in the foundry, this picture shown above is only missing 20 of the blueprints in the game
  • There is no limit to how many resources you can collect, the counter stops at 999,999 when viewed from the foundry, but you still collect resources
  • You can have as many blueprints building as you want.
  • You can let items sit in the foundry built for as long as you want, you just can't build more of that item till you redeem the first.

Tips
  • It is suggested to keep as many unique items built in the foundry as possible. That way, when you max out one weapon or Warframe you can swap to something new without waiting on build times.
Junctions
Junctions can be found on (Almost) all planets, to open them you'll have to complete a set ot challenges that are listed when hovering your mouse over the junction in the galaxy map

Tip
It can be hard to see the challenges in the galaxy map, you can enter the Junction and see what the challenges are by walking up to a console in the mission.

After completing all the challenges for a Junction, access the junction and use the console in front of you. This will open up the larger room in front and trigger a fight with a Spectre.

Lore
Junctions are actually Solar Rails used to enable almost instantaneous travel between the planets in the galaxy. While clans (Used to) deploy solar rails to enable access to a valuable Dark Sector node and charge taxes, the junctions seem to be neutral beteween the factions. For whatever reason the spectres guard the Junctions, it certainly isn't to help any of the current factions and remains a mystery.
Archwings
Archwings are personal life support systems attached to wing shaped engines, they allow the Tenno to fight and maneuver through space in areas where the Liset cannot follow. Archwings have their own set of powers and I don't believe your choice of Warframe affects the stats, due to being weightless in space various unique weapons are available to players.

How to Unlock

There are three requirements to unlock your Archwing:
  1. Reach Mastery Level 2
  2. Complete the Mars Junction (Located on Earth)
  3. Complete the quest "The Archwing"

Note that the mastery requirement and completing the Mars junction can be completed in any order.

Obtaining more Archwings / Arch-Weapons

There is two methods of obtaining different Archwings, the most common of which is buying all the blueprints from the Tenno Lab in a dojo however players also unlock an Archwing through mission rewards. Arch-Weapons used to be obtained in parts scattered throughout different Archwing missions, however recently they've been moved to Syndicate Offerings. If they are unavailable from missions, players will have to resort to trading for them in Trade Chat.

Customizing your Archwing Loadout

Located in a small button on the bottom right of your Arsenal Screen, you'll find "Select Mode" of the three options, one of them is "Archwing". Modding and painting your Archwing works exactly the same way as modding your normal loadout.

The stats window in the bottom right functions exactly like the one for your Warframe and weapons, it displays the last item you hovered over with your mouse.
Easily Obtainable Warframes
"Warframe exo-armor uses unique combative technology to create the ultimate weaponry. The Warframes hold many mysterious powers and mastering one requires dedicated use."
---Warframe Official Website

As I am writing this there are currently 31 unique Warframes, not including the Prime variants. There is effectively three methods to obtaining any Warframe, but the process generally stays the same. There is always three parts, Chassis, Systems, and Neuroptics (Previously known as Helmet) which are earned one at a time and a Blueprint which is obtained in various ways. In this section I will be writing on the three easiest to obtain Warframes (assuming you don't have a clan) as well as the potential cost and usefulness.

Rhino is a very solid frame (And better be considering that's his motiff). His abilities in general use brute force to decimate foes and enable him to be very tanky. To obtain him, fight the boss on Venus - Fossa

Rhino Charge
Rhino charges forward, sending any enemies in his way flying. Using this ability in quick succession increases the damage done. Can be used to cross gaps in mid air.

Iron Skin
Whenever anyone thinks Rhino, they think Iron Skin. This ability blocks a set amount of damage and prevents knockdowns as long as it stays active. For a few seconds after activating, Iron Skin is invulnerable and takes all damage dealt and converts it to strengthen Iron Skin.

Roar
An very underused ability, Roar increases the damage output of both allies and himself. At max level, he provides a 50% damage boost that applies to both powers and weapons.

Rhino Stomp
Rhino stomps heavily on the ground, causing cracks in the earth and tossing enemies into the air. Instead of instantly coming back to earth, enemies are frozen in the air for a duration.

Rating 7/10
I give Rhino a 7/10 rating as even though his four acts as a mild CC, there are much better options available to the player. Iron skin falls off in End Game (100-120) unless you manage to use the ability and take massive damage during the grace period but in Late Game (~40) makes him very tanky. Rhino Charge never gets super powerful, however is always fun to toss enemies. His saving grace is Roar, if a player builds specifically for this ability any Rhino is welcome as the damage boost stacks with other often used powers.

Now I may be biased on this because Frost is my favorite frame, but due to the nature of his kit he is VERY useful in objective scenarios.

Freeze
The absolute weakest part of his kit, Freeze is just a quick and easy ability to hit an enemy while reloading or if you are for some reason sans gun. Freeze leaves a small patch of ice on impact, slowing enemies that run over it. Hitting Snowglobe with freeze will cause it to explode, dealing damage and tossing enemies in and around the globe.

Ice Wave
Not the most damaging of abilities, Ice Wave makes up for it by having a wide range and applying Frost to any afflicted enemies. That being said, it can be modded to be VERY effective at slowing all enemies in a large area for a reasonable amount of time.

Snow Globe
If anyone ever asks for a Frost, it's because of this ability. Frost places a giant globe of ice, blocking any projectiles from entering, but not exiting (Note that this applies to friendlies as well). On use, enemies are tossed out of your range, occasionally frozen, and if they hit a wall hard enough they will be killed. Recasting Snow Globe on the same spot causes it to be replaced with the new one, but the remaining health is added to the new globe. Four globes can be scattered around the map. Snow Globe stays active until its health runs out.

Avalanche
A powerful ability that wipes out all enemies around Frost (Or freezes them if it doesn't kill). Enemies frozen by this ability have their armor reduced by a percentage for the duration. Hitting an enemy frozen by Avalanche with Freeze extends the duration.

Rating 9/10
Now I have acknowledged that I may be biased on this frame, but I am not kidding when I say how useful he is. If you play Frost, you don't have to worry about any Defense Mission, Mobile Defense, Excavation, or even Assassination. Snow Globe is a very useful ability and augments enable him to be very effective at slowing practically entire rooms of enemies. He functions all the way to end-game without much change to his mod set and is just an overall welcome addition to any game.

TIP: Try not to leave too many Snow Globes scattered around a map, especially in Survival. It can be very frustrating to other players if they end up trying to kill enemies on the other side of one and you aren't around to use Freeze to destroy it.

Starter Frame

At this point, you are more familiar with the enemies of Warframe. Originally Mag would absolutely dominate the Corpus by using Shield Polarize (Later changed to merely Polarize) to destroy all shields in a large radius through walls and replenish the Shields of allies. That being said, mixing Magnetize and Polarize is supposed to be a very effective combo and while Crush is still a little bit of a nuisance with the casting time, it is easy to either mod for or around it.

Pull
Mag grabs enemies in her LoS and yanks them towards her, more often then not they fly past you but this ability is excellent for keeping enemies from firing at you. Enemies that are on the ground can be stabbed with your melee (Default E) to deal large damage that punctures Armor.

Magnetize
Mag causes an enemy to be surrounded by a magnetic bubble, redirecting fire coming from both friend and foe back into the targeted enemy. Magnetize has always been an interesting ability and with a wide range a single mag can make most fights a breeze by causing all projectiles to be redirected.

Polarize
Mag creates a wave that expands from herself, damaging both shields and enemy armor. Armor becomes fractured and will fall onto the ground, using Magnetize around these shards cause them to fly into the target and deal extra damage.

Crush
Mag's ultimate ability, she lifts up all foes around her crushing their bones and slamming them into the ground. Enemies lose part of their armor stat and are forced into the ground, requiring them to stand back up before fighting.

Rating 6/10
You may have noticed the rating improved between now and the beginner section. With more mod variety, Mag becomes slightly more effective as the player should now be able to manage energy more effeciently.
Easily Obtainable Weapons
When starting out, you don't have access to every weapon in the game from the market. Don't fret this is a good thing, the weapons available to you are also the easiest to build ones and therfore easy Mastery. For the most part, feel free to rummage through the market and pick the Blueprint of whichever weapon you choose.

Important Consumables and Slots
In Warframe, there is a few items that are single use but very important and can really up your game when used right. The most common way to obtain these items is using platinum and buying from the market, however there is a way for F2P players to obtain these items without spending any Platinum

Orokin Reactor and Catalysts

Pictured on the right, from top to bottom is the Orokin Reactor and the Orokin Catalyst. More commonly Reactors and Catalysts are referred to as Gold and Blue Potatoes.

These items are used to double the mod capacity of a single Warframe or Weapon respectively. To apply either to an item, find the item you want to apply them to, go to the Upgrade page, hit "Actions" in the bottom right corner of the screen, and select "Apply Reactor/Catalyst"

These items can be obtained for free from special events and after regularly scheduled DevStreams[www.twitch.tv] via special "Gift of the Lotus" alerts. Otherwise, they can both be bought for 20 platinum from the market

Effective Use:
I suggest only using Reactors on Primed Warframes. Not all Warframes have a primed varient but they are released constantly so be patient. Weapons become much more opinionated, while I suggest you wait to apply Catalysts to weapons you know you'll like it's always safe to apply them to any of the Top Tier gear[docs.google.com] (Tier List made by Redditor /u/I_wanna_b_the_guy).

Once again though, I highly suggest avoiding using Tier lists to rush to certain weapons. Realize that once you get a weapon that you don't want to sell, you effectively lose a slot originally used to shuffle through your mastery fodder.

Exilus Adapters

Exilus Adapters have rarely been referred to as Tomatoes.

Exilus Adapters are used to unlock the "Exilus" or Utility slot on Warframes (To the right of the Aura slot). While unlocking an extra slot mod slot is very valuable, the Exilus slot is restricted to a certain set of mods. Exilus mods themselves can be used on any slot on a Warframe.

Adapters can be obtained in Blueprint form from Conclave Offerings (75k Standing) and, after the quest Natah, from Cephalon Simaris (50k Standing). You can also buy them from the Market for 20 platinum.

Effective Use:
Adapters are weird, the bonus they apply is minor enough but still notable I suggest applying them to whatever Warframe you feel like.

Slots

Now the title can be a bit misleading, but slots are too important to not talk about. Slots are technically recieved whenever a player obtains an event weapon, however the slot is immediately used to hold the new loot. I highly recommend you don't sell this gear, if anything to use as prestiege later but if you are desperate for slots and don't care to show off feel free to sell the weapon.

There is six different types of slots, listed below with their prices

  • Warframe Slot (20 Platinum)
  • Weapon Slots (12 Platinum for 2)
  • Sentinel Slots (12 Platinum for 2)
  • Archwing Slot (12 Platinum)
  • Archwing Weapon Slots (12 Platinum for 2)
  • Stasis Chamber (10 Platinum)

Obtaining Platinum In-game

Players can sell mods and valuable items to other players at trading posts (Available in a Clan Dojo and Maroo's Bazarre). Please read the section "Making Platinum in Warframe" for more information.

The Warframe University
Quite a few of the veteran players in the Warframe community (me included) have decided to group up in a Discord channel to help introduce new players to the game. Note that this group is NOT for merely tossing items at newer players and letting them on their way, our goal is to help newer players learn the mechanics of the game and become more or less self sufficient.

To join the group for a more personal learning experience or if you want to join to help newer players (By having either 200+ in game hours to be an "Advanced Student" or 500+ in game hours to be a "Teacher") join the group at this link[discord.io]
-----Soft Stop-----
If you have read this far, you have finished the basic beginner's guide. While I have listed a lot more information below about the game, it is supplementary at best with no way to avoid it being a data dump at times. I suggest new players (Or prospecting players) to play with the game a bit at this point and if you don't have fun with it feel free to stop. Reading any farther is a waste of time if you don't care for the game and I'd hate for it to be like that.
-----The Warframe Encyclopedia-----
Starting from this point, the content of the guide will be focused towards explaning various mechanics. It's not part of the Beginner's Guide due to the fact that there is a large amount of the subjects can very quickly become a data dump. If you get to this point and aren't sure about whether you will still play the game, I'd suggest to hold up on reading further just in case you find the game isn't what you are looking for.
-----1.0 Affinity-----
Introduction to Affinity
Affinity is how Warframe refers to Experience and is gathered for killing enemies and completing objectives. It is displayed in game by blue text appearing for half a second or so on kill or completing an objective.

Successfully finishing a mission nets you extra Affinity, this boost is practically double every time so complete every mission you can.

Fight Together or Die Alone take forever to rank up

On muiltiplayer matches, you may have noticed an icon appearing by your health. This is the Shared Affinity range counter, telling you how many people you are near enough to benefit from the Affinity they gather. In short, try to stay with your teammates for added Affinity.

Playing in a group is better for your affinity as long as you can stay within the Shared Affinity range. If this is too hard (And trust me when I say there's no shame in it) either find a lower level group or run a couple of maps in Solo until you get comfortable with the content in the Advanced Movement section.
Advanced Affinity
More thourough explanation of Affinity Gain

I've mentioned earlier you gain affinity from kills and objectives, however this is an oversimpilization.

List of all ways to gain Affinity
  • Kill an enemy - Determined by type and level
  • Be within the Shared Affinity range as another Tenno gets a kill
  • Use an Ability - Equals energy to Cast - Bugged, only occasionally is awarded
  • Hack a Terminal
  • Complete a Challenge - Press Esc during a mission to see it at the bottom
  • Scan Things

Tip
Even though you gain more Affinity for killing higher level enemies, due to how difficult / long it takes to get to them it's generally suggested to find large quantities of lower level enemies.

Distribution of Affinity

When the Player kills an enemy

  • With a Warframe power - 100% affinity to Warframe
  • With a Weapon - 50% to Warframe and Weapon

When a Teammate kills an Enemy (In Shared Affinity Range)
  • 25% to Warframe, 75% split between all your weapons

Tip
You may have noticed you can select "None" when equipping weapons. The purpose of this is specifically so players can maximize the shared affinity to one weapon. Taking one weapon to a mission and letting someone else kill all the enemies will actually net you more exp than killing all enemies with your weapon of choice.

In Conclusion
If you want the maximum amount of experience possible:
  1. Find a party to maximize the enemy density.
L For Warframe experience, kill as many enemies as you can. For weapon exp, play a support role and follow the person killing the most enemies.
  2. Find a map with large amounts of enemies early on (5-10 minutes to really start)
  3. Bring only one Weapon (Unless you have more than one to level)

If you can't fill a support role and are trying for weapon exp, fight your enemies anyways. No one likes someone sitting in, breathing their oxygen.
-----2.0 Arsenal-----
Introduction to the Arsenal
Modding doesn't do you any good if you don't know what each stat means, here's the gist of it.

In the picture above, your stats are in the window surrounded by the Red border

Tip
The last item your mouse hovers over displays its stats in this window.

  • Power Strength
  • Power Range
  • Power Effeciency
  • Power Duration
  • Sprint Speed
  • Shield
  • Power
  • Health
  • Armor
  • Conclave

Power Stats

Power Strength

This stat controls how effective your powers are in most cases. This means powers meant to damage enemies will inflict more damage while powers that can take a certain amount of damage get their health increased by this value.

Power Range

This stat is rather simple, It controls the range of effect for your powers. Let's say you have a range of 10m for a power, setting this stat to 110% will increase that range to 11m.

Power Effeciency

Never explained except for the tutorial that's hidden in the bottom right, Effeciency controls how much energy a player uses to cast a power. There is a hard cap of 175% effeciency, which means a power that costs 100 energy will only cost 25.

Power Duration

Power Duration controls how long powers last after being cast. If you have a 10 second duration and your duration stat is 15%, your power will only last for 1.5 seconds.

Tip
You may notice that my Frost build in the picture above basically works all the stats and trashes Duration, this is because I've built my frost specifically for his third ability, Snow Globe. Even though it creates a lasting effect on cast, Snow Globe lasts as long as it has health (Which is affected by Power Strength). This means while my 1, 2, and 4 suffer from decreased freeze durations, my Snow Globe can sustain being under fire at very high levels.

Warframe Stats

Shield

This stat controls how much damage your shields (The blue number in the top right during missions) can take before breaking. Once destroyed, health damage is taken. Shields regenerate after avoiding damage for a few seconds.

Power

This stat controls your maximum energy cap (or Energy pool) during missions. Can be increased with mods, however Effeciency is usually a better stat to work on.

Health

This stat controls the amount of health (Red number in the top right during missions) your Warframe has before being forced into a downed state (Or death in Single Player). While shields absorb damage for the most part, health can be damaged directly (Bypassing Shields) if the player recieves a Bleed or Toxic proc.

Armor

Only touched upon earlier, the armor stat applies a percentage decrease to the amount of damage your health takes. The formula is as follows:

Damage Reduction = Net Armor / (300 + Net Armor)

Net Armor is slightly fickle due to it changing depending on what your "Armor Class" is (Flesh, Cloned Flesh, Ferrite Armor, Etc.). We won't be discussing that here though, for the most part your net armor is whatever the armor stat listed is.

Tip
The damage reduction obtained from armor has decreasing gains, to elaborate, 0 armor makes you take 100% damage, armor of 300 makes you take only 50% damage, and it takes an armor stat of 1200 to get the damage reduction down to 25%.

Conclave

All gear and mods have a conclave rating, this stat is the additive total of all the items equipped in your loadout. Conclave is used to adjust the level of bosses throughout the game to prevent players from stomping the earlier levels.

Note
The number on the left of the partition shows the conclave gained from whatever the last item you hovered over with your mouse, the number on the right is your total conclave.

Loadouts

The Green border highlights a button that, when pressed, opens a window that shows all of your pre-set loadouts.

To edit a loadout, simply select it and then start changing gear.

To create another loadout, make a copy of your current one using the "Loadout Options" button at the bottom right of the screen (Seen in the picture) and name it something like "Test 2"

To unlock more loadout slots, go up in Mastery Rank. You can also buy 5 additional loadout slots at 20 platinum each.
-----3.0 Builds-----
Introduction to Builds
Occasionally while playing Warframe you may notice people talking about builds or how they have built something a certain way, this term is used to quickly describe to people your loadout for missions so they have an idea of how you are going to be playing your frame.

Generally Named Builds

These builds are named simply after whichever stat they aim to boost. For instance let's say I want to make a Warframe build that focuses on Power strength, I would simply refer to it as a Power Build to other players. You can have a build named this way for any of the four stats: Power, Range, Duration, and Effeciency.

Ability Named Builds

Whenever a player aims to maximize one ability on their Warframe, players will name their build after the ability in question. If I made a Frost build that focused on maximizing Avalanche (Power - Range), people would have a basic understanding of the limitations of my frame.

Specially Named Builds

Sometimes you may see someone referring to their Frame with a completely different name. For instance, sometimes someone may say they are bringing a Slova to a mission stating that they are bringing a Nova built around heavily slowing down enemies on a large scale (Duration - Power).

Alternatively someone may say they are bringing a Speed Nova to a match, this unique build requires the player to have negative, or less than 100%, power strength to instead cause enemies to speed up when afflicted with Molecular Prime. Very situational, this build is used to speed up farming enemies by making them run to your kill zone faster.
-----4.0 Clans-----
Clans and Alliances
Clans are a very important part of Warframe, featuring access to unique Blueprints and a fully customizable dojo. There used to be a Clan vs. Clan feature, however it was temporarily removed due to balancing issues (Remnants of it can be seen from "Dark Sector" nodes).

Starting a Clan

To start a clan in Warframe, go to the ESC menu while in your ship, select Communications > and click Clan. I believe on the right half side of the screen near the bottom you'll find a "Create Clan" button. Creating a clan does not cost anything (?), and all you have to do is come up with a name.

You'll automatically receive a Clan Dojo Key BP in your foundry, build this key to permenantly unlock access to your clan dojo. There's two ways to enter your dojo, either go to the Galaxy Map and search for the Dojo in the outer rings, or go through the ESC menu, Communications > Clan, and hit a button that says Enter Dojo.

Once inside, you'll notice your Dojo only has one room. Players work together to expand the dojo and decorate it. Dojo's have an Energy and Capacity stat which is purely to require players to build reactors (for energy) and Halls (For capacity). There is a few key features players may want to invest in as soon as possible to get the most out of their dojo.

  • Reactor's give power to the dojo, put them in a corner somewhere
  • Clan halls give capacity, can be set as the main spawn room, and act as large hub rooms (With the last two having a total of 6 doors).
  • The Oracle room gives access to research labs. It offers no other benefit however so tuck it away in a corner someplace
  • Five research halls, sadly end caps, these are the main rooms people will be visiting in your dojo.
  • Trading Post (Under decorations), Placing one allows all clan memebers trade within the dojo.
  • Treasury (Under decorations), placing one allows clan members to donate credits to the Clan Vault.

Tips
  • You can deconstruct rooms and decorations, the resources used to build the room or decoration will be redeemed into the Clan Vault and can be used for other build projects and research in the dojo
  • The Warlord (Creator) of a clan can rename all the ranks and assign uniqiue permissions to every rank.

Joining a Clan

Recruiters from other clans can invite anyone, to accept this invite go to "Communications - Inbox"

Alliances

Warlords can agree to make an alliance with other clans. As of now, there is no real benefit to doing this but with the old Dark Sector Clan vs Clan feature, Alliances were able to collaborate on the construction of Solar Rails to take over nodes.
Trading
For Free-to-play Tenno, trading is very important for getting Platinum (The premium currency in Warframe). While new players may not find valuable items right away, eventually you'll get lucky and have something you could sell to someone.

What Can I Trade?

Prime items are the most commonly traded items and are obtained randomly through relics and Void Fissues. While all mods can be traded, most people won't pay for an Ammo Drum. Syndicate weapons can be traded as long as they haven't recieved any Affinity (Basically, don't take them out into any mission). Arcanes (recieved from Raids) and Weapon parts recieved from Sorties can be traded. Lastly, Arcane Helmets (Unobtainable aside from trading anymore) can be traded.

How can I Trade?

Unlocked at MR2, players can go to a Clan Dojo or Maroo's Bazaar, located on earth.

To access the Clan Dojo, at least one of the traders will need to be part of a clan and have built the "Clan Dojo Key" (Obtained after joining a clan, it has a 12h build time). Somewhere in the clan, you'll find a tower with four consoles attatched to the base. While they recycle the model for the treasury (Albeit with a gold tint around the outside), it's rather distinct.

To trade in Maroo's Bazaar, open your gear window by holding the appropriate key (I've changed it to Q so long ago I don't remember what Default is) and click the "Open Shop button in the top right corner. Put the items you've agreed to trade before in the five slots, and select open shop. Whoever you agreed to trade with runs up to you and presses X, at that point the normal trade window open.

How do I get more trades

By raising your Mastery Rank of course, earns you an extra trade for every level. Once you run out for the day, you'll have to wait for tomorrow before you can trade again.

What are the valuable rewards?

While there's no easy way to do this except by spreadsheet, recently u/xeio87 on Reddit has released a tool that reads the rewards from the reward select screen and displays them in a window outside of the game.

Realize that this tool shows Ducat values however in general higher ducat values means a pricier item.

Original Thread

How Do I know I'm getting a Good Price

All the prices are determined by the players so prices tend to fluctuate, however there's two resources I can think of right now that are at least more or less respected.

Warframe Nexus

A new site, they utilize a chat bot to scan Trade chat for WTS and WTB prices. So far the prices seem a little high, but that's because any person that regularly trades will start slightly high just to go somewhere.

If that was too convoluted, people tend to start with higher prices as bartering is expected.

Warframe.Market

An unoffical auction house, Warframe.Market relies on people honestly posting products and using an "Online - Ingame" toggle on the site itself. Other users message players through Warframe.Market and they agree to meet up for a trade in game. While I'm not a fan of it, you can usually find average prices with relative ease.

-----5.0 Companions-----
Introduction to Companions
Companions play a small but valuable role, each one being unique in what they do. There is three types of Companions: Sentinels, Kubrows, and Kavats. All companions have their own category of mods (Sentinel, Kubrow, and Kavat).

Sentinels are robotic companions that stay at the Tenno's shoulder during missions, each have their own Precepts and weapons which change how each play.

Kubrows are, in short, space dogs. Feral Kubrows can be seen on Earth however after the quest "Howl of the Kubrow" you can have your very own pet dog. Kavats are easily described as space cats scanning a feral Kavat (Found in infested missions) will award you with a DNA sample which can be used in conjunction with a Kubrow egg to get yourself a pet cat.

While Kubrows and Kavats may sound intriguing, they do have an upkeep as they can die if you don't stabilize their DNA for about a week. Later on in the game, you can upgrade the Incubator in your ship (Introduced with Howl of the Kubrow) to save pets before their untimely demise but as you've just started out it's better to stick with Sentinels.

Carrier

There is a total of seven different Sentinels but Carrier is by far the most useful, With the ability to vacuum nearby items during missions (Mods, Ammo, Resources, and Energy and Health orbs) to the player, maxing out the precept "Vacuum" removes the hassle of running over valuable items and makes any resource grind a breeze.

Sweeper, which is obtained with Carrier, is a very effective weapon for clearing out any enemies that run up to you. It uses shotgun mods so if you plan to use a shotgun with your Carrier you may want to keep two of each mod.

How to Obtain
In the market, you can find the Carrier blueprint for sale under the Companions tab. Ultimately, it will cost 200k credits to build (100k for the blueprint, another 100k to build) but is very worth the cost.
Sentinels
Robotic Companions that follow the player by staying over their shoulder (Always the opposite one the camera is on), these companions feature unique Precepts which make each one use a different abilities.

When you obtain a Sentinel (Whether through crafting or buying from the market) you receive both the Sentinel and their weapon, as well as an unranked set of their precepts.

The only way to get a Sentinel Weapon is to build the Sentinel it is associated with, while each weapon has it's own stats and accepts various mod types (Rilfe, Pistol, Shotgun, Melee and such). Note that a mod can only be used once, so if you are currently using a shotgun and try to equip the same mod on a Sentinel, you'll recieve an error. To circumvent this, either collect two of the mod you want or use a different mods on your Sentinel.

Sentinel weapons can be used by any Sentinel, however their unique firing Precept can have unusual results

For Sentinels to attack foes, they need to have a firing precept equipped. Each one comes with different Sentinels and consist of a unique firing mode and range.

The "Ability" precept is restricted to a specific Sentinel, for instance Wyrm comes with a Precept that causes it to cloak both itself and the Tenno when around enemies. This precept can't be equipped on Carrier, whose special Precept allows him to bring in useful loot.

Sentinels stats are just like Warframe stats, to see a description of each one please read "Stats and Loadouts". I'll be including a few new columns labeled "Weapon", "Firing Precept", "Ability", and "Alternate?" to the table, denoting what weapon is obtained from the Sentinel, what the special ability is, and if there is an alternate verson of the Sentinel available.
Kubrows
Kubrows are space dogs which can be first seen on Earth as feral wildlife. To obtain a Kubrow companion, players will have to complete the "Howl of the Kubrow" quest.

Obtaining

Kubrow companions are created by the player by first finding a Kubrow egg on any Earth node (By destroying dens), the egg is then incubated on the ship. There is two types of Incubation, Random and one that uses Genetic Code Templates to manipulate aspects of the Kubrow.

Note
The type of Kubrow obtained through random incubation has an even chance split between the five types.

Maintainence

After hatching, Kubrow pups can be named and interacted with around the ship. However they will also now suffer from daily Genetic degeneration and loyalty loss. To mature a Kubrow, players simply use the incubator one more time.

Kubrow Loyalty is also reduced from the Kubrow "Dieing" in missions.

Loyalty is regained by simply interacting with your pet, however the Genetic degeneration requires DNA Stabilizers bought from the market.

If the DNA of a Kubrow is completely lost, they permenantly die, however if the player has the incubator upgrade segment they are saved right before they die automatically.
Kavats
Kavats are space cats, unlike kubrows however Kavat abilities are more metaphysical (More like Warframe powers) and tend to be

Obtaining a Kavat

First and foremost, players have to complete the Howl of the Kubrow quest to unlock the Incubator and the Incubator Power Core Blueprint. After that, they'll need to craft the Kavat Incubator Upgrade Segment (Available in the Tenno Lab or as a drop from Hyekka Masters). Finally, players will have to scan feral kubrows until they manage to obtain 10 Kavat DNA samples.

Back on the ship, players will have to use a Kubrow Egg with the 10 Kavat Samples to start incubating, normal Incubator mechanics apply from this point on.

Maintainence

After hatching, Kavats can be named and interacted with around the ship. However they will also now suffer from daily Genetic degeneration and loyalty loss. To mature a Kavat, players simply use the incubator one more time.

Kavat Loyalty is also reduced from the Kavat "Dying" in missions.

Loyalty is regained by simply interacting with your pet, however the Genetic degeneration requires DNA Stabilizers bought from the market.

If the DNA of a Kavat is completely lost they are permanently gone, However if the player has the incubator upgrade segment they are saved right before they die automatically.
-----6.0 Damage-----
Damage 2.0 - Physical Damage
Encompassing all aspects of damage in Warframe, this section will be done in parts.

Procs
Every weapon naturally has a chance to inflict a status ailment on enemies depending on the primary damage type it deals, this only applies with physical damage. When hitting an enemy applies a status ailment it is referred to as Proccing.

IPS
Every weapon in the game has an Impact, Puncture, and Slash (or IPS) stats. This is supposed to represent things like the Miter (A sawblade launcher) inflicting Impact from the disc striking foes, Puncture from the tips of the blades digging into enemies, and Slash from the blades cutting them

Types of Physical Damage
Impact
Effective against Shields, and thus effective against Corpus, Impact damage is less effective against flesh. When procced, Impact damage stumbles the target..

Puncture
Effective against Armor, and therfore effective against Grineer, Puncture damage is less effective against Shields. When Procced, enemies deal less damage.

Slash
Effective against Flesh, Slash is best used when facing against the Infested while weak when used against Armor. When procced, Slash causes direct to health bleed DoT.

Finishing Damage
While only utillized in very specific cases, finishing damage ignores the armor stat which would normally remove a percentage of the damage dealt by players. Only used on Finisher attacks (Stabbing enemies that are on the ground and backstabbing enemies in stealth) and a few Warframe Powers.

Damage Modifiers
You will see many types of armor listed in the following table and while listing where they apply would take a guide of its own I feel it's still useful information.

Damage 2.0 - Elemental Damage
Unlike Physical damage, Elemental damage does not normally appear on weapons (there is exceptions) and will only appear when players use mods to apply them. There is four base elements and six combined elements (Which will be covered in a different section).

The Elements
Cold
Deal more damage to shields and less to infested flesh, when Cold procs it will slow enemies.

Electricity
Deal more damage to Robotics and Shields, Electricity causes enemies to become stunned when procced.

Heat
Deals almost universally more damage to infested enemies, fire is almost a comletely safe choice when taking damage modifiers into account.

Toxin
Only good against basic Infested enemies and certain Grineer armor types, toxin generally does less than the listed damage. However when it procs it does direct to health poison DoT to enemies which is useful against Corpus Crewman and other enemies that rely heavily on shields.

Damage 2.0 - Combined Elements
Whenever a player equips more than one element, pairs combine to create a new effect. The new element has its own set of resistances independant of the two original and while they tend have greater bonuses against enemies that are susceptible to them resistances tend to be greater as well.

Elements combine from top left to bottom right in your mod loadout.

The Elements and their Effects

In total, there is six different combined elements with their own procs:

  • Blast - Causes enemies to fall over in a small AoE when Procced.
  • Corrosive - Enemy Armor permenantly reduced when Procced
  • Gas - Creates a poisonous cloud when Procced
  • Magnetic - Reduces maximum shields when Procced
  • Radiation - Reduces accuracy and causes enemies to attack each other. When afflicted, players can damage each other.
  • Viral - Cuts maximum health in half

How to Create the Elements

They are made using the following combinations.

  • Blast = Heat + Cold
  • Corrosive = Electricity + Toxin
  • Gas = Heat + Toxin
  • Magnetic = Cold + Electricity
  • Radiation = Heat + Electricity
  • Viral = Cold + Toxin

-----7.0 Events-----
Introduction to Events and Tactical Alerts
Warframe is around three years old at the writing of this guide, throughout its lifetime special limited time events occur usually in between or right before major updates.

Events

Events add major changes to certain nodes, generally have a leaderboard for clans to compete, and usually have some major rewards for continually playing things like an extra hard survival map. Occasionally events will have multiple outcomes and change how parts of the game play, factions may "Permenantly" take over entire planets, some nodes can be changed dramatically, and on occasion, new enemies are introduced (To be reintroduced at a later date). Events generally last about a week from start, to allow everyone a chance to work at it.

Tactical Alerts

Utilized much more often and for lesser reasons, Tactical Alerts do not usually add a new mechanic to the game. Rewards from Tactical Alerts tend to be more minor than Events, usually just a sigil or badge to show off. The mission introduced for Tactical Alerts tend to be simply a normal map with a modified value, in example, Thousand Cuts was a tactical alert that forced players to use only melee weapons, as well as the enemies. It then had an increased amounts of Manics, fast enemies that shadowstep constantly and slash at the player. Tactical Alerts have multiple missions that vary in difficulty with the last mission awarding the "Stratos Emblem" for completion. This special emblem changes its look depending on how many you earn Tactical alerts tend to last for three days and the version of the sigil shown in the picture is after 23 alerts

-----8.0 Farming-----
Introduction to Farming
Warframe is a loot heavy game, for that very reason everyone will have to undeniably farm at some point while playing.

Each planet has four resources that all the enemies will have a chance to drop when killed. To see what they are, clear all the nodes and hover your mouse over the Excavator symbol in the bottom right corner while looking at a planet

[Insert Example pic here]

Early on in Warframe farming is a rather arduous task. The most effecient resource runs involve playing survival maps for as long as you can without slowing down too much on killing enemies. In general, the more enemies you can get to spawn, the more effecient your run will be.

Opening lockers and crates is useful for farming for small quantities of things, which believe me when I say 2500 of a common resource is reason enough to loot. Later in the game, you'll be improving your farms with various Warframe powers and Companions to help.

In fact, please read "Introduction to Companions" to learn about the first and probably the most important boost to looting resources and collecting mods.
Advanced Farming - Enemy Drops
Warframe is a loot game and while all players acknowledge this fact it doesn't mean we don't try our damndest to reduce the grind. Now while it's hard to declare a single ultimate way to farm all enemies, there is a few general ideas that make up the perfect grind.

The Farming Basics

Determining a Node

While mainly up to preference, there is a few options when it comes to picking a map to farm. When considering nodes, think of whatever faction currently resides there and the objective (Prioritizing objective). My favorite grind locations tend to involve Infested Survival missions due to the Infested being weak against the Slash damage type and the Fire element (Which is probably the easiest to obtain) and the fact that only a few of the Infested have long range attacks with all of them requiring a short travel time.

Density

One of the most important factors in any enemy drop grind, maximising how many chances you have for the item to drop is key. Certain nodes contain more enemies in general than other ones but until you get farther into the game you probably won't have to concern yourself with this.

Level of the Location

The level of a location changes how much of a resource is dropped (When it actually happens), while locating a node that both allows for the player to maximize this advantage is a concern, it's much more important for players to be able to dispatch enemies as quickly as possible.

Upping your Loot Game

Carrier

Talking about in "Introduction to Companions", Carrier is the easiest way to make your loot runs more effecient. Featuring the precept "Vacuum" merely having Carrier along with you on missions draws in valuable items like Resources, Mods, Health and Energy orbs, and ammo. You can buy it's blueprint from the market for 100k credits, while a hefty price it is well worth it.

Nekros

The first loot-frame introduced into the game, Nekros's third ability (Desecrate) causes corpses of enemies to have a chance to drop health orbs. If the ability turns a corpse into a health orb, it rolls the dice once more to determine if a resource or mod drops at the same time.

While I don't normally suggest running Nekros in single player due to him being rather squishy and the fact that his kit does not have any way to kill large groups of enemies quickly, more seasoned players can make use of fully modded weapons to offset the lack of crowd killing abilities.

Tip
Desecrate functions on dismembered limbs of enemies. If a player brings a weapon with a high Slash damage stat and aims at shoulders and enemy waists, there is a very high chance of enemies getting dismembered and thus increasing your chance at loot. Using these same waepons, players do have an opportunity to mutilate corpses as well (However I don't remember if it's before they settle or after).

Ivara

Although difficult to obtain, Ivara's three ability (Prowl) enables the player to "Steal" loot off of enemies before they die. Requiring the Ivara to stay near the enemy while Prowl is active, the ability is only really useful when it comes to farming enemies that spawn rarely in small amounts. That being said, since it guarentees at least one drop it is a better choice than Nekros for very specific farms.

Hydroid

While not naturally a loot frame, an augment called "Pilfering Swarm" changes Hydroids four (Tentacle Swarm) into a large scale loot power. Enemies killed while grabbed by the Tentacles will drop loot while this augment is active, making him a smart choice paired with Nekros for large scale looting.

Tip
While Pilfering Swarm is only works when enemies are killied while being tossed by tentacles, there's two ways to use this ability. The way I favor involves larger amounts of power damage and effeciency and sacrificing range and duration as half of Hydroids abilities are more accurate from having less range. This tactic requires slight luck when it comes to energy orb drops, but enables the player to kill most enemies directly through the use of the ability instead of relying on killing the enemy while being tossed around erratically on a tentacle.

Atlas

While by far the least effective loot frame, the fact that Atlas has the ability to gather extra loot puts him on the list. Using the Augment Ore Gaze, Atlas's 3 will petrify enemies (Like normal) but also both scan the enemy and adds a 50% chance for loot.

Tip
Atlas's 3 forces him to move at a slow pace, players can still roll to get around faster. Still though, it's much more effecient for Survival and Mobile Defense missions where people tend to move less.
Advanced Farming - Mission Rewards
Unlike enemy drops, farming missions rewards requires the player to finish missions in as short amount of time as possible, besides learning maps, mastering advanced movement, and perfecting different objectives before hand there is a few things players can do to assist in a run.

Mods

There are two stats on Warframe mods that help with speed runs, "Sprint Speed" and "Mobility" (The latter affecting things like sliding and parkour).

Rush is a very common mod and increases how fast a Warframe can run, if players can manage to bullet jump their way through the map however it is useless in 95% of the cases. Bullet Jumping is rather difficult however and with a certain mod setup players can actually run just as fast without going through all the trouble.

Warframes

Volt

Good for missions that mostly involve going from Point A to Point B

A volt built for Power Strength and Duration can turn any run into a speed run with little trouble. Combine with mods that increase sprint speed and you'll be zipping through in no time.

Equinox

Good for lower level missions that require killing massive amounts of enemies

Building for effeciency, power, and range enables the Day form Equinox inflict a large scale slash proc, cutting through shields (After the initial hit) and killing lower level enemies either with the initial hit or from bleeding out a short time later.
-----9.0 Missions-----
Advanced Missions
This section will discuss all the types of missions and include tips where appropriate.

Reward Tiers

Endless missions have a unique drop system to allow players to continue to receive rewards without having to reset. Once the reward rotation has been completed, it resets (Meaning if a reward rotation is AABC, once C has been completed it resets at the first A).

Types of Missions

Assassination

These missions features the player maneuvering through the map to reach a boss and kill it. Many of the bosses feature their own arena and invincibility phases which are bypassed generally bypassed shooting something other than the boss.

Capture

Players race through a map to find a high value target and take them down before the target can escape to a special evacuation room. The target has increased health and speed, and tend to not get distracted (they constantly move towards the exit).

Deception

While removed for the most part, Deception missions requires the player to pick up a datamass located at the start and carry it to a console located somewhere on the map.

Note
These missions are still playable when they show up as part of Sorties.

Note
If the player is detected before deploying the Datamass, there is a high chance that after placing it the map will change to an Exterminate mission, requiring players to kill all the enemies on the map.

Defense

Endless (AABC), every 5 waves

These missions feature a spawn room and then one main room where the objective is located. The objective can be one of four targets (Cryopod, Relic Container, Power Core, or Captive) with only the Captive being mobile. Objectives are targeted by enemies and if they take too much damage they are destroyed, failing the mission. Players are given a reward every five waves as well as an opportunity to evacuate, all rewards obtained at the five wave mark are received if the player successfully evacuates.

Tip
Frost is by far the most useful for these types of missions, however any frame that can block projectiles hitting the objective is useful.

Excavation

Endless (AABC), Every Successful Drill

Players are dropped onto a map, following the waypoint leads to a circular area that when entered drops an drill onto the map. Drills are targeted by enemies and can be destroyed after taking so much damage. Drills need power to continue doing their work, power cells are dropped by special enemies which need to be picked up by players and brought back to keep it charged. Once a drill finishes digging (After 100 seconds at minimum), a second spot is revealed and the process continues.

Exterminate and Crossfire

Players must kill all the enemies located on the map, a counter is provided on the left hand screen.

Crossfire is slightly unique, while the objective stays the same (To murder all enemies) you'll be facing off against two factions who are also fighting each other.

Tip
The minimap marker points at the enemy farthest from evacuation. For the most part as long as you follow the minimap you won't have to back track much.

Hijack

Players must locate an objective and defend it as it travels along a track, as of now there is two types of Hijack.

The original Hijack involves players escorting a Fomorian core from a Grineer Dockyards to a location where Ordis can pick it up and safely detonate it in space. To move the cores players must stand near it and use their own shields to push it along the track, due to the nature of the Fomorian cores their health will deplete slowly but constantly once the escort is started.

The other Hijack involves players escorting a Corpus Rover across an area, once again powering it with their shields. Unlike the Fomorian Core, the health of the rover will not deplete on its own.

Hive

Some Infested nodes contain a hive, these heavily infected corpus ships act as breeding grounds for the Infested and must be destroyed. Players will be tasked with destroying three large HIves, which can be found on certain tiles throughout the mission. The hives are protected by Tumors which are found in the same room, before damage can be done to the Hive all the tumors must be destroyed. Destroying a Hive destabilizes the ship, causing environmental hazards to appear throughout the mission.

Resource caches (Glowing White lockers that give off a hum) can be found throughout these missions, opening the first two will reward the player with rather basic materials or Fusion Cores but the third has a chance to give a rare mod.

Interception

Endless (AABC), Every Round

Can be referred to as a Control Point mission, featuring four spots on a map that both Tenno and other factions fight for control over. The round ends when one of the two gauges fill, if the Tenno wins they are given a reward and an opportunity to evacuate while if the enemy wins the mission ends.

Tenno capture points by staying in an area under the control point, killing any enemies that enter the area as they prevent capture.

Enemies capture the points by accessing one of two consoles near each point, when they start interacting the node starts flashing and a localized alarm goes off. Killing an enemy while they are "hacking" will prevent a capture.

Tip
Bring a longer range weapon for these, they enable a player to snipe enemies that are hacking points from across the map.

Tip
I highly suggest you always play this gamemode in a group, each player can take a point and defend it instead of requiring you to rampantly try to defend all four points.

Invasion

Easily located from the Star Chart using the Mission Toolbar (Tabs located in the top right while looking at the Galaxy map) These missions feature the three main factions vieing for control over a node.

Players are given a choice between Corpus and Grineer while any invasion involving Infested will force players to side against the Infested. After playing for the listed amount of times (3 or 5), players will be awarded the reward listed when the node ends, regardless of which side wins.

Players that side with one faction five times in a row become marked for death by the opposing faction, please read "Unique Spawn Mechanic Enemies" for more information.

Mobile Defense

Players carry a datamass throughout a mission to a console. They then must defend the console for a set amount of time before picking up the datamass once more and moving to the next, this occurs three times.

Recovery

Only available after being defeated by the Zanuka Hunter, players are forced into another mission where they must escape a Corpus facility dedicated to disassembling Warframes. You are forced into single player for these missions and are weaponless at the start, to evacuate you must find all your missing gear and escape like normal.
Advanced Missions 2
Rescue

Players must locate a prisoner somewhere on the map and rescue them. They are found in special prison tiles that contain Wardens who are heavily resistant to normal damage but are killed instantly by stealth attacks. If you are detected, Wardens will run to a console to start the execution sequence, killing your rescue target and failing your mission after a timer.

Rescue missions award Spectre blueprints at the end of every mission, determined by the mission level, whether the player killed all the wardens (?), and on if the player managed to rescue the target in Stealth.

Sabotage

There is two types of Sabotage missions due to a bug still occasionally causing the original Sabotage mission type to show up.

Old Sabotage involved the player running through a map, finding a core, and destroying all the coolant tanks on it, occasionally causing a meltdown to occur giving the player a timer to escape else instant failure.

Sabotage 2.0 (And the most common one now) features players first sabotaging two coolant tanks located on the map to force the engine to shutdown. Players then force the engine to start up again using a console after either replacing the fuel tank back into the engine, putting a coolant tank into the engine, or putting a fuel tank into one of the coolant tanks with each combination providing a different outcome.

Spy

Players locate three Data Vaults on the map and try to stealthily hack the main console within to steal data. Getting detected by automated defenses will automatically start a timer which when depleted will cause the console to lock up. For most regular missions, players will only need to secure one of the data vaults to succeed, however players seeking Ivara parts will have to successfully hack all three.

Survival

Endless (AABC), every 5 minutes

Players are to create a distraction so a "Tenno Operative" can loot the area. They start the mission by triggering an alarm which inevitably causes the enemies to cut off life support to choke out the tenno.

Life support Towers are spawned in by the Lotus periodically to provide the players with a quick boost, while all enemies have a chance to drop Life Support Capsules (Affected by Loot Frames).

After five minutes, players can evacuate the mission at any time by retreating to a standard evac room.

If the life support depletes before five minutes, the mission instantly fails while if the Life Support is depleted after five minutes players quickly lose shields and health until they hit critical health. Picking up Life Support after it is depleted will not add more to the time, your best bet is to scramble to evacuate.

Trial

Large Scale misisons featuring 8 tenno trying to complete an objective over three missions. These are end game missions that feature unique Arcane rewards which can be upgraded for an increased bonus or sold to other players.

It's highly suggested that players look up a guide for each trial before attempting one.

-----10.0 Mods-----
Introduction to Mods
Mods have already been touched on in the tutorial, but considering they are a VERY important part of Warframe they'll need their own section or three.

Basic Mod Information

There is four rarities of mods: Legendary, Rare, Uncommon, and Common. The latter three can also be referred to as Gold, Silver, and Bronze. When dropped, Gold mods will spark with golden embers and have a golden beacon shining from them.

Apologies for the quality, above is a fortuitous screenshot containing all the key features of mods. (Note to self, redo with Darkened)

Obtaining Mods

Each enemy has its own mod drop table, from a basic Grineer Lancer to your boss of choice. For the most part I suggest new players just kill enemies and always look out for mod drops (Pictured to the right). Further into the guide, I'll list some of the cornerstone mods, where to get them, and how to effectively farm them.

General use of your Mod Collection

If you forgot how to find your mods after Vor's Prize, go down the ramp in your ship and look directly to your left. Using the machine here will open up the screen on the Right.

At the top, you'll see the Fusion, Transmute, Sell, Dissolve, and Ayatan Sculptures button. Above the Ayatan Sculptures button you'll see a small number (151,840 in the screenshot) which tells you how much Endo you have. Endo is used to upgrade mods and is found in missions and from Dissolving mods.

Below the five main buttons, you'll see a Search... dialogue window, to the right of that buttons that filter out your mods for a single category, and a Sort By drop down box. I suggest sorting by name for consistency.

In the bottom right, you have three buttons:

  • Tutorial - I suggest paying attention to page 3 as the picture I provided above does not show all the information on a card. Conclave isn't used for PvP anymore though, it's used to balance bosses
  • Filter - Has the options to filter out mods by Rarity, Polarity, Game Mode (PvP, PvE) and the ability to hide maxed mods (I suggest you don't use that one, there are many mods in the game and if you hide your maxed one you won't know if you already have one come mod selling day).
  • Exit

Fusion
In Warframe the most direct way to gain power is leveling up your mods through Fusion. To rank up mods you use Endo and credits at increasing values. When a mod ranks up the power of the mod is additively increased in most cases (Something gives you a 5% bonus? It's now 10%, then 15%, Etc.) and the cost to equip the mod goes up by one. If you are concerned about running out of your 30 mod capacity on items, fret not. There is two ways to maximize your mod capacity on gear, however I talked about those in the Beginner's guide section under Important Consumables. For now, work on leveling up mods as long as they don't have more than 5 levels. If you have a mod that has 10 levels, only go to 7 for now. The cost to upgrade after 7 becomes unreasonable early on as it's mostly a long term goal in the game.

TIPS:
  • Transmute Gold mods (when you have an excessive amount of credits) or sell Gold and Legendary mods to players.
  • After you max out a mod, start selling the Duplicates (Assuming they aren't Rare or Legendary). This will be a substantial part of your credits after a while and the endo received from a common mod is just not worth it.

Transmuting
Taking four mods, players can basically burn them (With credits) to generate a completely new mod. In general, I would not bother using Transmute unless you toss in four Gold cards and 36k credits in the hopes you get another gold card that you don't have. You are far better off directly farming a mod as long as it's not a rare that drops from an enemy that barely shows up.

Polarity
In the top right corner of every mod, you have a number next to a symbol. The number shows how much it will cost to equip the mod and the symbol shows the polarity.

Occasionally when you mod a weapon or warframe, you'll notice sometimes slots have a symbol in the top right corner as well, Using a mod with the same symbol on that slot will cut the cost to equip the mod in Half while using the wrong symbol bumps up the cost to equip by 25%.

Using Forma, a player can change the polarity of a slot. Do not buy Forma from the market though, it is obtainable in game through a Blueprint (After a 24 hour build time).

Obtaining Legendary (Primed) mods
Baro Ki'Teer will sometimes sell Legendary mods for Ducats and Credits, these mods are in general costly to buy but well worth it as they can potentially double the effect of the regular mod. Please read the "Relays" section for more details on how to obtain Ducats and on Baro Ki'Teer appearences.
Advanced Mods - Categories
Mods are the cornerstone to Warframe Gameplay and DE knows it. There is many different types of Mods with each category requiring a different type of farm.

The Percentages

All enemies have a 3% chance to drop mods on death, 75.9% of the mods are common, 22.12% are Uncommon, and 2.01% of the mods are Rare.

Categories of Mods

Standard Mods

By far the largest category, the mods I consider "Standard" are earned from killing enemies. All enemies have their own drop tables, even planet specific enemies like Drekar and Frontier Grineer. To collect all of the mods, you'll have to farm on all the planets and occasionally kill one specific enemy to get what you want.

Damaged Mods

To guarantee new players would have mods for various parts of the tutorial (Vor's Prize), Damaged mods are automatically awarded throughout Vor's Prize.

Conclave Mods

A sub category, there's actually two different symbols to signify Conclave mods, both can be seen to the left of the mod name. The diamond symbol signifies mods that can be used both in PvE (Regular play) and Conclave while the Conclave symbol signifies a mod that can ONLY be used in Conclave.

Exilus Mods

Exilus mods are actually a sub category, they are more commonly referred to as Utility mods and are identified by a small symbol located top-middle of a mod portrait.

Exilus mods can be equipped in any slot on a Warframe, however you may have noticed Warframes contain 10 slots, two across the top and another 8 in a 4x2 pattern. The slot on the top right is an Exilus slot, which is unlocked using Exilus Adapters. Only Exilus mods can be equipped in this slot.

Aura Mods

Exceedingly useful, these mods are obtained from Alerts only. They can only be equipped on the Aura slot (Top Left slot) on Warframes. Unlike normal mods, equipping an Aura mod will actually give the player more mod capacity instead of taking away from it. Aura mods affect everyone in the party and can stack if players use the same mod.

Nightmare Mods

Earned through special "Nightmare mode" missions, these mods give boosts to two different stats.

Corrupted Mods

Earned using Dragon Keys (Blueprints found in the Orokin Lab in a dojo), Corrupted mods are obtained by playing Orokin Derelict maps and finding a special "Vault" room. Opening the room requires one of four randomly determined dragon keys, because of this it's highly suggested to find a group in Recruitment chat and have everyone run a different key, that way once you find the Vault you only need the person carrying the correct key to open it.

Corrupted Mods are unique due to the fact they both add and subtract two different stats, making some abilities function in very unique ways.

Augment Mods

Obtained through Syndicate offerings, these mods (Are supposed to) change how abilities fundamentally work. While they vary in usefullness, there are some very impressive mods that completely change how useful certain setups can be.

For instance, the Augment for Ice Wave causes the ground to stay frozen after casting. The slow effect from this new feature is very powerful and with a completely different mod build, my Frost switches from an "Area Control" frame to a large scale Slow Frame.

Legendary Mods

Also known as Primed mods, these are only obtained with Ducats and Credits from Baro Ki'Teer (Read "Relays and Neutral Syndicates" for more information). They are based off of existing mods, but have an extended level cap and requires many more fusion cores and credits to rank up. The end result is a mod with twice the effect as the original.
Advanced Mods - Cornerstone Mods
A commonly asked question beginners have when starting Warframe is which mods are essential. While I don't like to push people towards specific farms early on due to a firm belief that the game plays better if you move at your own pace, it's hard to ignore the usefullness of certain mods as well as their longevity in the game

Warframe Mods
Power Mods

Heavily based off of each players playstyle, I believe that the mods that affect different aspects of a Warframes Power are the most valuable. Some may disagree and say mods that boost the Warframe stats like Shields, Health, and Armor however as I believe most damage can be avoided if you play smart enough I find making my powers more effective a higher priority.

Weapon Mods
Damage Mods

While simple, these mods increase all damage stats by a percentage (Slash, Puncture, Impact, and Elements). Fully ranking them up takes time and will be expensive, so it's generally suggested getting them to rank seven early on as the damage boost later on will not be as substantial.

There is also damage mods that only increase one aspect of the ISP stats on a gun, these bonuses are usually great but are only effective on weapons that have a particularly high stat already, the above mods are always a priority above these rarer mods.

Multi-shot Mods

These mods add a percent chance for weapons to fire more than one bullet at a time. The extra bullet does not consume extra ammo and as such occasionally allow weapons to inflict double or even triple damage.

If the player manages to get more than 100% multishot, their gun will always fire two bullets and have a percent chance to fire a third. Sidearms can achieve a 180% multishot stat by utilizing both Barrel Diffusion and a Nightmare mod called Lethal Torrent.
Advanced Mods - Making Builds
When players decide to make a build, you first have to have a objective in mind. If you can come up with more than one aspect of your frame to upgrade, here's a list I believe people should prioritize.

  1. Warframe Powers
  2. Warframe Stats
  3. Mobility
  4. Utility

It is possible to have less than 100% in each of the abilities, while not usually desired it can lead to interesing effects and sometimes the type of build you are trying to make simply doesn't use the stat. You'll be seeing me refer to stats with less than 100% as negative, even though this is a misnomer.

Warframe Powers

Not only is this how you determine what to name your new build in 80% of the cases, modifying your powers is by far the best way to make your game easier. The following sections will be written like this:

Modified Stat
Name of Build (If primary stat)
Description

Power Strength
Strength Builds
Obviously increasing power Strength will make damaging abilities dish more out, however it also affects abilities that create a certain amount of things and the Health of whatever you create when casting.

Having a negative stat in Strength will normally decrease damage done by the ability or reduce the count of whatever you create when casting.

Power Range
Range Builds
Range affects how far players can cast targeted abilities and the AoE of crowd hitting abilities.

Having a negative stat in range will simply restrict how far you can cast single target abilities on an enemy and the range of AoE effects.

Power Duration
Duration Builds
Duration controls how long your abilities will last, if they create an object in the world this stat may not affect its longevity. Less apparent however, this stat takes part in the formula used to determine how much energy is lost per second with "Channeled" abilities.

Negative duration will cause powers to dissapate quicker after cast and to drain more energy if the ability is channeled.

Power Effeciency
N/A
Effeciency is an important part of practically any build and as such isn't usually how you name one. Controls how much energy your powers will use in all cases.

Negative values will cause powers to use more energy, a power that uses 10 energy to cast noramlly combined with an effeciency of 90% causes the power to use 11 energy.

Types of Abilities

The section will use the following format:

Type of Ability
Common Stat Modifiers
Description

Hitscan Abilities
Power and Range
Utilizing a common method in video games usually reserved for bullets traveling instantaneously, this applies to any ability that when casted will affect the target area without delay.

Lobbed Abilities
Power
Abilities that have travel time after being cast.

Single Target Abilities
Power and Duration
Any ability that requires you to target an enemy or ally to cast

AoE Abilities
Range
Any ability that hits an area, this can be around the player or their target.

Channeled Abilities
Effeciency and Duration
Abilities that are activated once and continue to drain energy either till empty or recasted.

-----11.0 Movement-----
Advanced Movement (2.0)
This section will mainly be talking about how movement affects combat in Warframe, for basic information on how to perform certain moves please read "Movement in Warframe"

Parkour in Combat

In Warframe the faster the player moves, the less accurate enemies will be (Other factors play into the calculation as well).

There are mods that change how Parkour moves work, however even without them the player will be able to navigate and dodge enemy attacks.

Wall Jumping

Players can jump off of enemies to inflict minor damage and force them onto the ground.

Wall Grab

Grabbing a wall will cause enemies targeting the player to recieve a hit to accuracy, however staying on a wall for an extended period of time will cause the screen to shake violently making aiming at enemies accurately impossible.

Sliding

Sliding mainly makes the players hit box smaller, however when enemies are fighting with a lobbed projectile weapon (Think most energy weapons) sliding will cause them to aim drastically far ahead of the player, effectively dodging. Mods can be applied to increase the speed of your slide.

Rolling

Rolling reduces a large amount of the damage taken when hit, as well as allowing the player to ignore knockdown effects.

Gliding

Even though Gliding slows down the player, enemies targeting the player receive a hit to accuracy during the glide. Mods can be applied to increase duration.

Bullet Jump

Using near enemies causes them to be forced to the ground and recieve minor damage. Mods can be applied to the Warframe to change the element, damage, and range.

-----12.0 Relays and Syndicates-----
Relays and Neutral Syndicates
Relays are meant to be places for Tenno to gather in between missions. They are plentiful with features, however due to some limitations while in the relays they tend to be more trouble to use instead of your ship.

  • + Can Access Missions from Mission Control (See Map)
  • + Can Access Arsenal from the Escape menu (Equipment > Arsenal)
  • + Syndicate Leaders can be found in each of eight rooms. (See Map)
L You can buy offerings and trade in medallions while in Relays
  • + Darvo's Market, random discounts on Market items (Still payed for with Plat)
L Occasionally Darvo will sell valuable items however there is a limit and if you don't have a way to see right when things appear more than likely he'll be sold out.
  • - Can't view your Inventory from Relays
  • - Movement is greatly slowed in Relays
  • - On busy days, the game will stutter in relays (Loading other players)

TIP: If you make use of Bullet Jumping, you can move much faster in relays.

Syndicates

Starting from MR3, you can access the main six Syndicates from your ship at a console behind the Codex (Staring at the navigation console, to your left and behind the desk). For the most part, you have the same features available to you in both the ship and the relay however you can trade in Medallions found in special "Syndicate Alert" missions for extra Standing. However, Relays contain two more Neutral Syndicates (Are not affected by any Syndicate). They handle the secondary features of the game, Player vs. Player (Conclave) and scanning (Cephalon Simaris).

Conclave

We were led astray. We forgot the Conclave, so when that new evil came, we were not prepared. This is how we failed the Orokin. You went into stasis, but not me. I searched the long path for redemption, for the kind of balance only The Conclave can create.

Now I return, only to find the Tenno still herded like livestock. Horrors from beyond the Outer Terminus are coming. You must prepare. You must accept The Conclave. Let it be your teacher and I its humble guide. For true balance can only be found in the face of the ultimate enemy. Yourself. ---Teshin

Warframe does have a PvP feature, it's constantly being balanced and weapons featured in the PvE part of the game are constantly being added and balanced. Conclave has it's own set of mods and while some of them are useable between both game types, most are restricted. You earn standing in Conclave just for playing, can rank up like in other Syndicates, and are offered a very unique set of offerings (Included are none to shabby looking weapons skins).

Cephalon Simaris

Cephalon Simaris is building a digital oasis called Sanctuary. Simaris requires Tenno to hunt down and 'convert' special targets in a process called 'Synthesis'. In exchange, Simaris promises enlightenment to his hunters.

Through synthesis we can rebuild and preserve. Create memory-immortals within this data oasis. Will you become enlightened Tenno? Will you hunt for me? ---Cephalon Simaris

For people interested in building their Codex, we long had basic Codex Scanners that were hidden in the market. Simaris can be found in the Sanctuary on Relays, you can spend credits to buy his special scanner (Called the Synthesis Scanner) which is upgradeable with three modules to provide a double scan chance, scan much faster than usual, and infinite scans. While you can scan everything in sight to get Standing, Simaris provides a daily target which you can hunt to earn a much more massive standing reward.

That's not the only thing in the Sanctuary though, you can spend standing to unlock the Simulacrum Key which gives players access to a sandbox room to test out different gear setups against any enemy they have fully scanned.

The Sanctuary also allow players to replay old Mastery Rank exams as well as the next one available to a player. Practicing here will not use up your one daily try and you can use it all you want until you feel ready to rank up. Take the ramp on the right when you first walk in to find a console for every exam.

Ducats and Baro Ki'Teer

While beginners probably shouldn't concern themselves with Ducats at the start, it's something that is good to at least know of. Ducats are obtained by going to the Ducat vendors in Relays (It's just a console) and trading in Prime Items for a set value of Ducats.

Baro Ki' Teer appears for 48 hours once every two weeks. He sells Primed mods and Prisma weapons and aesthetics for Ducats, usually the gear is merely a side grade of the original but as they are technically a unique weapon you can use them for Mastery. If you do not level up the weapons he sells AT ALL, you can trade them to other players for Platinum as well as the Primed Mods.

NOTE: Primed mods have a hefty trade tax of 1,000,000 credits. If you intend on buying one, you'll have to at least have that much money.
The Main Syndicates
Unlocked at MR3, however they can be accessed earlier from Relays. There is 6 Syndicates fighting for control over the Origin System. While some of them may seem extreme, they have more morals then the Grineer and Corpus so the Lotus has agreed to bring them in contact with the Tenno and allow the Tenno to pick which one to follow.

Syndicates have their own list of rewards (referred to as Offerings) which are payed for with Standing.

There is a daily cap to how much Standing you can earn, however every MR you go up increases the limit by 1000.

To start earning Standing, pick your Syndicate of choice and pay for their starter sigil. After buying one, go to your Arsenal, hover over your Warframe and hit Appearence, click Regalia and select either Front or Back Sigil. Make sure to equip your new sigil on one of the spots. Earning standing after that mostly involves merely using a warframe equipped with your selected sigil.

Syndicate Alerts appear once a day and last for 24 hours, they reset with the daily login. The points earned from these alerts do not affect the daily standing cap and allows you to go past it. Hidden throughout Syndicate alerts are medallions that you have to pick up with X. Collecting them is optional but you can take them to the respective syndicate leader in any relay and earn further points.

Earning Standing in one Syndicate will net you +50% standing on an Allied Syndicate, -50% standing with an Opposed Syndicate, and -100% standing with an Enemy Syndicate. If you decide to change your current syndicate to one you have negative standing with, you'll have to switch to their sigil and work your way through the negative numbers (There is a minimum cap so you don't have to worry about getting buried).

There is 8 tiers to the following six syndicates, each with their own access to certain rewards and own minimum/maximum standing caps.

Steel Meridian

Led by a battle-hardened Grineer deserter, the Steel Meridian fight a guerrilla war against a vast enemy. They are sworn protectors of what little remains of the colonies.

The Grineer are not often seen as valorous individuals, but time and again members of their leadership have displayed a certain code of honor. Members of Steel Meridian set aside their former allegiances to defend those who cannot defend themselves.

Ranking Up/Down

Players rank up in a Syndicate by maxing out the counter and paying a tribute, players go down a rank by end up exceeding the minimum standing.

Death Squads
If you get a low enough ranking (-1 or -2) with any Syndicate, you become a target for their Death Squad. Each Syndicate has their own and they consist of one type of enemy, however every enemy in the Death Squad is an Eximus unit. Dispatching these squads nets you a hefty amount of Affinity.

Notes
  • Once you've payed tribute to rank up in a syndicate once, you will never have to pay for that rank again (assuming you end up losing a rank).
  • Killing a Death Squad targeting you or an ally will not change your current standing
  • There's two sizes of Death Squads, -1 ranking will usually net you ~8 enemies and -2 will bring in ~15
-----13.0 Relics-----
Introduction to Relics
Relics and Prime Items

Occasionally when playing Defense or Survival missions, you may have noticed you've been recieving "Relics" as part of your rewards. You take these to Void Fissures nodes (Which take over other nodes randomly throughout the system) and will be given a rather typical mission objective. The difference however is large groups of enemies will cause fissures to appear on the map (They look like a floating giant orange tear), the tears power up enemies and cause Corrupted enemies to spawn around the anomaly. Killing enemies afflicted by the tear will occasionally cause Reactants to drop (Orange orbs on the ground) which can be picked up by running over them. Once you've "Charged" your relic (There should be a gauge on the left hand side of the screen), completing the mission will award you with a random reward from the drop table that's displayed during the relic select screen.

Relics come from four era's, This is mostly used to keep "Lower level relics" in the low level maps due to how the game randomly places rifts.

Completing the Mars Junction unlocks the Relic Refinement console (Tucked away in a corner to the right of your arsenal). Using Void Traces (Which are earned from sealing rifts), you can refine relics and increase your chance to obtain rarer rewards.

Tips for Prime item farms

  • Void Traces are gathered in packs of 6-30 when you open a relic.
  • You can set your game to public and use whatever relic you want and still find a group.
  • In general, if someone is making a group to hunt one specific reward, you will be required to use a relic that also drops that reward (Nothing in the game double checks for you, this is merely a courtesy to your fellow Tenno)
  • If you and one other Tenno gets the same reward (And you want that reward) select their copy of it as then you'll be giving them one extra void trace

If you are looking at Recruitment chat and see people mention T1, T2, T3, or T4, they are referring to one of the four era's relics come from.

  • Lith - T1
  • Meso - T2
  • Neo - T3
  • Axi - T4

-----14.0 Scanning-----
Scanning - Basic Features
Hidden in the market you can find Codex Scanners. While completely optional, using these scanners on enemies, objects, and even fellow Tenno yield snippets of lore as well as resistances and drops within the Codex.

Codex scanners are single use only however they are relatively cheap, can be bought in bulk, and you can take 100 of them with you on each mission.

Synthesis Scanners can be obtained from Cephalon Simaris (Read "Relays and Neutral Syndicates") for credits. These scanners initially act the same as codex scanners however using them gives you Standing with Simaris, enables you to capture Synthesis targets, and can be upgraded to scan faster, cause some scans to count double, and even have infinite charges.

There is a few ways to help with scanning so you don't have to manually use a scanner. Sentinels (Covered in the Companions section) have a variety of uses and Helios is the perfect companion to anyone building their codex. Buying its' blueprint comes with a hefty price of 100k credits however the benefit to scan enemies and objects passively is too useful to ignore. Helios requires the player to have either Codex Scanners or Synthesis Scanners equipped in their gear and uses charges like normal. Upgrade the Synthesis scanner to have infinite charges however and you'll never have to worry about anything asides equipping the scanner initially.

Get enough standing with Cephalon Simaris and you can buy the Helicor blueprint. Killing enemies with this hammer causes them to be scanned on death. For more information on Cephalon Simaris, read "Relays and Neutral Syndicates")
Scanning - Oddities and Fragments
Oddities

Hidden on different maps throughout the game, players may find little statues that can be scanned to obtain snippets of lore on The Twin Queens (The rulers of the Grineer). Finding these objects are purely optional, but players do recieve two rewards for finding them all.

Cephalon Fragments

Occasionally you'll find glowing blocks on the ground, scanning these fragments gives the player concept art which is fully unlocked after multiple scans. Look at the concept art using the Codex, while doing this you may here a buzzing sound that gets louder depending on where you put your cursor. Hidden on the concept art in a very small spot is a trigger that causes Ordis to muse about the nature of Cephalons and his past.

Tip
Cephalon Fragments can be seen on the minimap if you have any mods equipped to show loot.

-----15.0 Stealth-----
Introduction to Stealth
Warframe does feature stealth gameplay. While early on it is a little difficulty to actually successfully kill multiple enemies in a row, it speeds up how much affinity you gain. There is a few things you'll need to get started though:

  • A silent weapon or use only Melee attacks
  • A weapon that can kill an enemy in one shot
  • While not needed, some form of cloak

There are mods that silence weapons for use in stealth runs, if you don't have one of these mods you can use bows (Including the crossbows) and throwing daggers.

Note
Players can use special stealth attacks on enemies with their melee weapon by running up to an un alerted enemy and pressing the quick melee button at their back.

Advanced Stealth
Stealth in Warframe is purely optional, however it can be useful in various situations.

Benefits of Stealth Gameplay

  • All standard melee attacks recieve the stealth multiplier on unalerted enemies, which multiplies the damage done by eight. Attacks receiving the stealth multiplier will be shown in yellow, same as critical hits normally. Crtical hits done on a stealth attack will still show as yellow but with increased damage.
  • Sneaking up on enemies in stealth will allow for Stealth attacks when approaching from behind. Depending on the type of your weapon you'll recieve a damage increase on top of the stealth damage multiplier.
  • While most enemies can be stealth attacked, there is a few that are immune mostly due to the lack of an available animation. MOA's can be stealth attacked mostly with single handed melee weapons, however even then there is a few exceptions.
  • Killing unalerted enemies in succession increases the amount of affinity the player recieves, up to 500%
  • Scanning is much more effective on unalerted targets.

Determining Room Alertness

Occasionally when you look at your map, you may have noticed the outline of rooms changes occasionally (Mostly between white and red). There's actually three types of alertness with each one changing the outline of the room.

The Alertness Levels

Unalerted
A room is unalerted when it's outline in the minimap is White. Enemies are calm and casually patrolling the map.

Low Alert
The outline of the room on the map is Yellow when it's in Low Alert. Enemies have heard something suspicious or have seen an associate killed, they don't know where or what the threat is but they start alerting nearby associates, check corners, and have their weapon at the ready.

High Alert
The outline of the room on the map is Red when it's in High Alert. Enemies have seen the Tenno and are currently fighting. They can activate consoles to either trigger a global alarm which puts the entire map on high alert (Can be hacked) or to initiate a lockdown, closing all doors and forcing the Tenno to hack their way out of an area.

Why Stealth?

  1. Affinity Gain
+ Utilizing the affinity multiplier for stealth killing enemies ultimately gives the player more affinity than any other farm. Hitting the 300% multiplier will actually award the player with more affinity than killing most level 100 enemies for a much quicker action.

    - To get experience on a specific gun, you'll have to kill the enemy with that gun in particular. As only melee weapons get the stealth multiplier, the weapon will naturally have to be able to one shot your target. Mods will almost always have to be applied to at least silence your weapon and possibly to increase the damage.

  2. Simaris Standing
+ Normally to obtain standing for Simaris, players will scan enemies during a mission or hunt specific targets which will earn the player a large boost. However, scanning unalerted enemies will give the player triple the normal amount of standing.

    - Some missions will cause the enemies to be foced into Low Alert after completing the objective. While the stealth bonus to affinity can still be obtained occasionally in this situation, scanning will only give the alerted amount.

The Factions
The Grineer

From the wiki
"The Grineer are the first enemies encountered by newly reawakened Tenno. They utilize technologically crude and undeniably effective weapons. Many Tenno have fallen because they underestimated the firepower of Grineer machines."

Lore
The Grineer are descendants of the cloned Orokin slaves (Also known as Grineer) used to maintain the various structures out of sight from the main populace. After an uprising either before or during The Old War, they became independant of the Orokin but found out that the technology for perfectly cloning more Grineer was lost. Because of this, many Grineer are crippled with a heavily shortened life span, genetic mutations, and a desire to murder everything that isn't Grineer if anything out of spite. They hunt Orokin technology not only to achieve a technological advantage over their enemies, but also in the hope to one day perfect the cloning process and take over the Solar System with a flood of Grineer.

The Corpus

From the wiki
"The Corpus are a conglomeration of plutocratic commercial and industrial interests unified by a single trade language and a common goal - the acquisition and trading of ancient Orokin technologies and Warframes..."

Lore
During The Old War, many of the Orokin scattered across the Solar System to escape but left behind the technology that made them great. Years have passed and the Corpus rose, commonly referred to as a merchant cult (However this is a misnomer), valuing money and profit above all else. The Corpus tend to use their great wealth to invest in security proxies and in general maintain a technological advantage over the Grineer through the utilization of Energy Weapons. They hunt Orokin technology to sell it to the highest bidder while keeping the epitome of it (Things like the technology that created the Tenno) for themselves to eventually establish total control over the Solar System.

The Infested

In-game Lore Description
"INFESTATION describes both a disease and its victims - a metamorphic affliction without cure. Living organisms are consumed and merged into rabid amalgamations.
Individuals are violent and animalistic yet the larger whole exhibits signs of coordination, with multiple swarms converging on ships and colonies.
Its origins are uncertain but there is historical evidence of a similar outbreak before The Collapse."

Lore
The Infested are an ancient and parasitic ... let's say race that comes from outside our Solar System (Also I believe referred to as the Dark Sector). They infect both living matter and technology, twisting and corrupting it till there's only a small remnant of what it used to be left. That being said, the Tenno are the only ones that seem to be immune to infestation, further steeping what the Tenno are in mystery. If there's one thing the three main factions (Corpus, Grineer, and Tenno) can agree on it's that the infested must be eradicated.

The Tenno

Excalibur Codex Entry
"...In our desperation we turned to the Void. The blinding night, the hellspace where our science and reason failed.

We took the twisted few that had returned from that place. We built a frame around them, a conduit of their affliction. Gave them the weapons of the old ways. Gun and blade. A new warrior, a new code was born. These rejects, these Tenno, became our saviors. Warrior-Gods cast in steel and fury striking our enemies in a way they could never comprehend."

Lore
The Tenno are the remnants of the long lost Orokin Empire, created in an attempt to save their civilization during The Old War. While effective in battle, they were greatly feared as even the Orokin did not completely understand what they had created and were sealed away in cryo pods to be awoken at a later time should it be called for.

Please Note: The exact details are very spoiler heavy and currently being fleshed out in game through the quests "Natah", "The Second Dream", and eventually "The War Within". If prompted to after getting this guide in order I'll write a spoiler guide to be used in conjuction.
**Important Characters
The Lotus

The enigmatic woman that first saves you from dissection by the Grineer, the Lotus acts as mission control. Her motives are unkown but as she so far has only wanted the Tenno to thrive we assume she is not malicious in her intent.

Ordis

The Orokin AI that controls your Liset and Orbiter, after many years being abandoned but functional on Earth, Ordis now suffers from a variety of behavioral complications.

Maroo

A thief that comes to the Tenno to seek protection after stealing from her employers, the Grineer, Maroo eventually sets up a Bazaar on Earth for Tenno to congregate and trade wares for a cut. (Players that have a clan will more than likely not use this feature)

Darvo

A Corpus merchant who was to be executed by his fellow Corpus for his business practices (Generally selling at hefty discounts and stealing inventory), Darvo is first introduced during the Vor's Prize quest to establish Rescue missions. Darvo can then later be found at any relay in his own store on the second floor.

Baro Ki'Teer

Commonly referred to as the Void Trader, Baro Ki'Teer appears once every two weeks for 48 hours at a time at a specific relay. He sells random unique items for Ducats which are obtained from the kiosks in the main room to the left and right in relays.

Teshin

A mysterious individual who guides the players in the Conclave, believes there is a greater danger approaching the galaxy than the infested that can only be fought if the Tenno learn to fight their own.

Frohd Bek

A member of the Corpus Board of Directors and father of Darvo, Frohd Bek actively opposes Alad V and Councilor Vay Hek. He prefers to stay neutral with the Tenno as he understands what very well may happen if he got on their bad side, however he has on occasion come to the Tenno with offers and pleas.

The Corpus Board of Directors

The Corpus are led by council, while we only know of (I believe) four of the council members there is almost definately more.

The Twin Queens

After the Grineer uprising many years ago, the Twin Queens rose to power. Not much is known about them aside from what is learned through scanning Kuria on maps.

Weapon Prefixes and Suffixes
On top of the weapons obtainable in the Market, via Blueprint or directly buying, there is special variants that are awarded out during limited time events and Sorties. There is five categories, with the only real distinction between them being the look of the weapon. You may be asking why there's even so many diiferent categories then, the short answer is for lore reasons which will be touched upon below.

Prime Gear

Remnants of the Orokin Empire can be found and obtained through relics. While crafting a primed item takes time and relies heavily on luck, they are more powerful than the standard version.

How to Obtain
From the galaxy map, click on the quick bar in the top right part of the screen. Select the Void Fissures tab and select a mission. Pick a relic to use in the mission from the following screen, the possible rewards for that relic are shown on the right. The mission objective will be typical, however groups of enemies in these maps will cause Void Fissures to spawn, powering up enemies and spawning in "Corrupted" enemies.

There is many prime items in the game, so many in fact that every time they introduce a new set DE has to remove an old set from the game. Fret not however, as occasionally Vaulted prime items are reintroduced for a limited period of time in special relics.

All Prime Items can be traded between players in parts, including vaulted items, for platinum. Be wary however, Vaulted items can be VERY expensive.

Prisma Gear

Items treated with Void-Hardened Prisma Crystals, featuring a blue metallic tint with a cloudy animation covering the surface.

How to Obtain
The vast majority of these are obtained from Baro Ki'Teer (See "Relays and Neutral Syndicates"). Baro provides both weapons and armor of this variant randomly when he appears on Relays. There is only four prisma items that are not obtained from Baro, they come from the market and are part of the "Prisma Excalibur" bundle.

Dex Gear

Featuring a modified Lotus model, these weapons are given out to celebrate "The day the first Tenno awoke from slumber"

How to Obtain
Dex gear is awarded to all players who log in during anniversary week of Warframe. Players who already have the weapons from a previous anniversary are given an extra, as there's no real reason to keep the spare players can sell the duplicate to make use of the free slots.

Wraith Gear

Featuring a very dark purple and red color scheme. Weapons of this varient are usually a side grade of the original gun, meaning it's not better but its not worse. As always, these are useful as Mastery Fodder.

How to Obtain
Wraith gear is awarded after various events and occasionally in parts from Sorties.

Vandal Gear

For the most part discontinued, Vandal gear features a blue metallic finish and a Lotus Emblem.

How to Obtain

Very rarely (only once so far) Vandal items have appeared from Sorties, even so, there's not many Vandal items and considering most of them were bonuses for playing in the Closed Beta and during U8 (First update Warframe became F2P) I wouldn't hold my breath.

List of Limited Availability items
The items sets I've listed occasionally show up in the market, usually for holidays. While there is many more unique sets, I have no plan to include the ones that have only been made available once or that are only available with spending real money.

Day of the Dead Skins

Available during the week of halloween, these skins features a mexican skull motiff akin to the holiday they are named after.

There's been three of these weapon skin packs so far and they seem to introduce a new one every year around halloween as well as the old ones.

Winter Skins

Available during the week around Christmas, these skins feature festive decorations and colors.

Deluxe Warframe Skins

Available occasionally to celebrate new primes and the heavier reworks, Deluxe skins drastically change the look of a frame.

Dark Sector Skins

Occasionally released whenever appropriate, there's two skins in this category for Excalibur and Nyx. They are reminiscent of Hayden Tenno's armor and the Nemesis

Holiday Color Pallets

Multiple color palettes that become available during the their respective holidays, there is the Easter and Valentines color packs.

  • Players can roll through security lasers, ignoring the knockdown and reducing most of the damage.
  • Any power can be cast during a slide, doing so will give the player the benefit of moving as well as the accuracy reduction enemies face when targeting sliding players.
  • Any power that can be cast in mid-air with an animation can be casted during and throughout an aim glide. Doing this allows players to benefit from the accuracy reduction enemies face when trying to target a moving and gliding target.
  • Any power that has an animation that locks the player down can be used to ignore knockdowns if timed correctly, generally this is more diserable if a hit is unavoidable.
  • If a Warframe receives the corrupted buff from opening a relic, any ability that is channeled or applies a buff to players receive a hefty power boost that will stay with the player after the corrupted buff ends as long as they don't stop channeling it.

Warframes

Ash

  • Bladestorm inflicts finisher damage, this has the unique function to inflict true damage which will allow players to ignore the enemy armor stat (The main thing making enemies harder to kill at later levels).
  • Bladestorm is affected by the players modified melee attack speed, while having a fast melee weapon will not naturally speed up the animation, modding a weapon to speed it up will benefit Bladestorm.

Atlas

  • Landslide when used in quick succession increases in power and AoE.
  • Rumblers benefit from the Warframes Health, Shield, and Armor mods.

Banshee

  • Multiple intersecting Sonar points on an enemy will continue to boost the damage dealt to an enemy.

Chroma
At least half of Chroma's Powers are affected by the element of Chroma, here's the changes.

  • Spectral Scream - Targets are inflicted with the standard Proc enemies would normally receive for the selected element.
  • Elemental Ward - Allies and Enemies are both affected differently depending on the chosen element,

Heat - Allies receive a large boost to base health, Enemies take Heat damage

Electric - Allies receive a boost to base Shields, damage taken is turned into Arc discharges which deal bonus damage to a single nearby target.

Toxin - Allies receive a boost to reload and holster speed, enemies around Chroma have a percent chance to take 5% of their maximum health as damage per second.

Cold - Allies receive a boost to base Armor, damage taken is reflected back at the enemy with increased damage and a chance to slow.

  • Effigy changes its breath attack depending on the element of Chroma, same as Spectral Scream.

Ember

  • A common misconception with Accelerant is that it boosts all fire damage done to enemies no matter where they are, in reality it only boosts the damage done to enemies that are stunned with it. The timer in the bottom right tells the player how long they have for the casting speed boost player receive on casting.

Equinox

  • In day form, Maim gathers damage from enemies that are killed as long as they have been affected by the Slash, running out of range before an enemy dies won't deny you the damage stack.

Excalibur

  • Slash Dash can be used for mobility as long as no enemies are in your range.
  • Radial Blind opens enemies up to finishers, bypassing any armor they may have.
  • Exalted Blade benefits from the mods on your Melee weapon.

Frost

  • Freeze creats ice patches which slows enemies for a short time.
  • Snow Globe benefits from Frost's modded Armor stat.
  • Avalanche guarentees freezing enemies, affected by your duration. Frozen enemies lose a portion of their armor.

Hydroid

  • Range doesn't actually help half of Hydroid's abilities (Mainly Tempest Barrage and Tentacle Swarm.
  • Tentacle Swarm does finisher damage to enemies that are trapped, but not when they first emerge or when they dissapate.

Inaros

  • Dealing Stealth Finishers will heal 20% of Inaros's max health.
  • Scarab Swarm boosts Inaros's base armor, this can be further increased using Armor mods.

Ivara

  • I don't know any.

Limbo

  • While Rift Surge only benefits Limbo, it still has a sizeable damage boost making Limbo excellent at taking out targets one at a time.
  • Mixed with Rift Surge, Cataclysm and Rift Walk can be used to rapidly kill large groups of enemies either from a distance or in close quarter combat.

Loki

  • Decoy doesn't get stronger with levels or Power Strength, placing it in cover is the only way to keep it from dying at later levels instantly.
  • Placing Decoy in an unreachable location for enemies will cause them to forever try to target the decoy for as long as it's active, however Infested enemies will retarget after a short time.
  • Invisibility gives Loki's melee attacks the ability to use Stealth Damage multipliers
  • Radial Disarm gives all enemies in range (except for bosses) stun batons (Including MOA's).

Mag

  • Many of Mag's powers deal more damage to enemies currently affected by Magnetize.

Mesa

  • Shatter Shield can provide Mesa with a 95% damage reduction, Useful when used in Conjuction with Peacemaker
  • Ballistic Battery can be discharged but not activated while using Peacemaker, providing the player with a guarenteed hit damage boosted shot.
  • Peacemaker benefits from the Shooting Gallery weapon damage boost.

Mirage

  • While Active, all affinity gained from killing enemies during Hall of Mirrors is added to Mirage, not the weapon. This makes leveling Mirage easier, however prevents leveling weapons.

Nekros

  • Terrify is affected by Power Strength, making it only useful when players do not have a negative Strength stat.

Nezha

  • Enemies impaled with Divine Spears will not be saved by Nullifiers, however if Nezha runs into a Nullifier field the ability is forcefully dispelled.

Nova

  • Molecular Prime range is actually increased through the Duration stat, Range increases the explosion that occurs from killing afflicted enemies.

Nyx

  • When Mind Controlled, enemies that create hazards (Brood Mother's, Mine Ospery's, etc.) will cause them to become friendly regardless if they were created before or after the target was controlled.

Oberon

  • Renewal can be applied to allies from anywhere on the map, keep an eye on Teammate health.

Rhino

  • Rhino Charge can be used in quick succession to increase damage and effect. It is also useful for traversing the environment.
  • Using Ironclad charge and Iron Shrapnel, players can turn Rhino into a rather powerful bomb. Charge, using Iron Skin, Detonate, repeat.
  • Iron Skin benefits from Armor mods on Rhino.
  • Using Stomp before it ends will not provide extra time on already frozen enemies.

Saryn

  • Most of Saryn's powers benefit from Spores being on the target, try to spread them as much as possible.
  • Enemies tend to take more damage depending on how many Toxin procs are applied to them, using Toxic Lash gratuitously will allow for larger amounts of damage.
Warframe Tips T-Z
Trinity

  • With a low duration and high Power, players can first cast Well of Life on an enemy to boost their max Health. While this may seem like a good way to hinder killing an enemy, if the player applies Energy Vampire to the enemy just before it ends, the pulses will deal massive damage to a single target, making Trinity super effective against a single target.

Valkyr

  • Valkyr greatly benefits from Armor mods, practically all builds should have Steel Fiber included.
  • Using Rip Line in quick succession will increase damage and effeciency.

Vauban

  • Bastille can be stacked on itself, increasing how many enemies it can grab.
  • Vortex is excellent for facing off against Infested enemies in close quarter combat.

Volt

  • Shooting through multiple Electric Shields will further boost damage inflicted.
  • Speed mixed with the Heliocor can be very effective at scanning large groups of enemies.

Wukong

  • Players can remove the energy and health negatives from subsequent Defy procs be recasting Defy.

Zephyr

  • Using the Turbulence augment, Jet Stream, Zephyr can become very effective with any weapon that has lobbed projectiles, this includes things like the Penta and Boltor.
  • While unrealiable, Tornado can be used to block enemy projectiles as long as it's kept between Zephyr and foes.
Weapon Tips
General

  • The best mods are the simple ones, a straight increase in damage generally has a higher priority over a mod that may increase damage but cause accuracy loss. As always, there is exceptions.
  • Reloading is a one handed action, this means players still have (Almost) full mobility while doing them. Feel free to slide, bullet jump, double jump, aim glide, and even use some abilities while doing so. Rolling will pull you out of a reload.
  • For the most part aiming will not boost your accuracy noticeably, on longer maps this changes but for all intents and purposes fire from the hip if you value mobility.

Syndicate Weapons
The six main syndicates all apply a unique mechanic to weapons obtained from them. After gaining a certain amount of Affinity with these weapons equipped, they will unleash a large AoE that damages enemies and applies a boost to the user.

Primary

Crossbows
Use Thunderbolt and fire rate mods for easy crowd damage. Beware self damage.

Flamethrowers
Note: This applies to any weapon that fires in an invisible cone in front of them

Using the mod Heavy Caliber (+damage, -accuracy) can be seen as an overall boost to the weapon as decreasing the accuracy widens the effective range (Howerver headshots will become more random).

Shotguns
Shotguns have damage falloff, this means they lose damage the farther you are from your target.

Snipers
  • Snipers have the unique feature where if the players continually hits enemies while aiming, they'll receive buffs to damage and punch through
  • I find sniper rifles as the better "New Player" weapon type, while slow fire rates and low ammo pools hinder them for later game, the higher base damage enables a new player to dispatch low level enemies faster than basic assault rifles.

Soma
An assault rifle, this weapon relies heavily on critical hits making mods that increase crit chance and damage more valuable than usual.

Simulor
This weapon fires unique projectiles that combine to make a black hole that sucks up loot and causes reasonable damage to enemies, use the Alt Fire button (Default MMB) to explode these orbs to allow for picking up items trapped in the black hole and for additional damage.

Sidearm

Atomos
With the mod Ruinous Extension, the range the beam will chain to enemies is increased greatly, making the Atomos effective at dishing out moderate damage to large groups of enemies.

Sonicor
A sidearm effective at large amounts of CC via ragdolling enemies. I need tips for building this one

Melee

General
  • Almost all melees feature a heavy attack, performed by holding the quick melee button down (Default E).
  • Some melees can be thrown, while dispatched the player cannot attack via melee. This is performed by holding your quick melee button (Default E).

Daggers
Using the mod Covert Lethality turns all stealth finisher attacks into one shot kill attacks, fantastic for anyone seeking a full stealth playthrough.

Gunblades
By holding the melee button players will fire their gunblade without a special stance, due to the fact that gunblades do not make noise (?) you can use their ranged attacks for easy ranged stealth attacks.

Polearms
The mod Reach works very well with polearms due to a higher than natural range.

Companion Tips
General

All Companions

  • Any Benefits you receive from your companion mod wise (Loot Radar, Enemy Radar, etc.) will be lost on Companion death.

Living Companions

  • When pets lose all their health instead of dying they are forced into a downed state like players, however they are unable to attack or move during this time. If they are revived there is no further negatives however if they bleed out they will be unavailable for the rest of the mission and will receive a hit to Loyalty.
Mission Tips
General
  • There is three level tiers, enemies that appear at level 19 may be replaced with newer things at level 20.
Faction Tips
General

  • Faction damage mods are applied after damage calculations, making them very powerful as long as the player equips the right one.

Important Links
There is a host of third party links that are available to players. None of them are affiliated with Digital Extremes but it's hard to ignore their usefulness.

Warframe Wiki

http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/WARFRAME_Wiki

Kept updated often, items tend to appear even when they are barely announced.

Official Warframe Twitch

https://www.twitch.tv/warframe/profile

The developers have a host of schedules streams talking about various topics on the game depending on which one you watch. While I find the DevStreams as the most interesting they talk about upcoming features and can be spoilery for players that haven't completed the "Story" missions.

Warframe University

A discord channel made by dedicated players to help teach the game inside and out. Open to everyone, requiring only a Discord account to join and chat in the group. We are not a carry group however we can and will help newer players with their goals at a level they can reasonably play at.

Real-Time Alerts

Deathsnacks

https://deathsnacks.com/wf/

Online site that tracks Invasions, Alerts, Darvo's Deal, Void Trader, and other limited time events. Useful for players that want to see what is currently available without actually logging in.

Trading

Warframe Market

https://warframe.market/

In an attempt to ease the WTB/WTS madness in trade chat, Warframe Market allows users to post how much of an item they have and how much they are willing to sell it for. People can track that player and when they become online in game (Using a tab on the site itself to announce this) message the player through the site.

Nexus Stats

https://nexus-stats.com/

Utilizing a chat bot to read WTS/WTB messages, this site displays the average price for items generally sold.

People tend to think the prices are a little high on this site, however considering many people start with high prices (As bartering is generally expected) it's still better than trying to determine prices by ones self.

WFTrading

http://wftrading.net/

Generally outdated, this site tries to set averages in item prices and sets. People feel the low range is the average price however and due to the slow nature of the updates it isn't the best.

I've included it here because there is some people that still use it even though it's past its hayday.

Special Thanks
Special thanks to everyone from this Reddit thread for providing key points for me to implement into this guide. Without this it would have been far more sparse.

Digital Extremes, for making half the games I've ended up playing for way too many hours (Looking at you Unreal Tournament)

The fine folk at the Warframe Wiki[warframe.wikia.com] who have kept it updated through MANY updates.

Important Note

I'm going to let people message me in-game for a short amount of time if they need help or have any questions. To see if I'm online, come to this guide and hover over my name to see if I'm currently playing Warframe. If so, whisper me in game using "/w Wyldbill" if you have questions or would like some help. Realize though that I may be working on the guide at the time and might not be looking at the game.

Fixed the Warframe University Discord link. For a while there it kept getting changed and at some point I missed the actual permenant link.

I'm not a proper mod on there anymore due to the lack of general moderating but you can still find me on that channel and message me through Discord if you have a specific general question or here if a subject needs to be fleshed out more.

This is insane how much infomation there is here! Thank you for taking the time to make this guide and help countless players.

Sadly I have to say you must take the specific information with a grain of salt, I changed computers since I first started working on the guide and lost a lot of my resources. The Quest map is out of date and despite how lazily done it looks it had taken me about an hour due to looking up the quests and then reordering them because one required an extra two or so. Also at this point I believe it's missing quite a few of the new quests but I believe if you click on them in game it will tell you the prerequisits in the summary screen on the bottom right corner.
