Before anyone starts calling hacks, note "TSA" in the title. This is what's called a "Timescale assisted" speedrun, recorded with the use of the Source engine's host_timescale cvar. I played at 25% normal speed, so when it looks like I'm using an aimbot, I'm not. I'm just aiming in slow motion.

I got the idea for this from TheRealDJLO and Transgenic86 (DemonStrate). Links to their channels are at the bottom.

Done in five segments, obviously. From when I first gain control to when I step into the helicopter at the end is 13:04, with a lot of room for improvement. I time each segment from when the map finishes loading to when the saferoom door is completely shut.

Segment 1:
Time 0:35

I jump on the skylight at 0:03 to avoid the slowdown that occurs when making a high jump. I could have used DemonStrate's crouch-jump but I would have ended up going the wrong way and needed to double back. Jumping onto the AC unit isn't actually necessary. It's possible to just run off the  edge and land on the corner, which would save some time and health.

Shooting the second zombie at 0:18 was a waste of time.

If the saferoom door closes while you're healing it will interrupt the animation and cause it to finish. I do almost all of my healing this way.

Segment 2:
Time 2:22

Picking up the auto shotgun at 0:45 isn't an ideal situation. The best place to find one is on the white table in the subway tracks, since I can run by and pick it up without stopping.

At 0:53 I try to grab the pills without stopping and fail.

At 1:11 I almost get caught by a smoker on top of the train. Trying to kill him wastes a few seconds.

I should have zombie-boosted my way onto the catwalk instead of waiting out the event. About 30 seconds is wasted here.

Picking up ammo at 2:35 wastes about a second. I could have just waited until the next saferoom.

Climbing onto the truck at 2:48 is slower than staying on the ground, but it allows me to avoid a bunch of zombies.

Segment 3:
Time 2:04

At 3:07 I get stuck on a zombie that went down but didn't die. This throws off my timing so I close the door in my face instead of behind me. Four seconds lost.

I jump onto the lift railing at 3:29 to allow me to get off a tiny bit sooner.

A failed crouch-jump and a slow ladder climb at 4:48 make me lose about three seconds.

I'm sure the counter at 5:01 can be cleared without landing on it, but I didn't pull it off this time.

Segment 4:
Time 4:48

At 5:07 I use the crouch melee glitch to increase my speed for the rest of the map.

From the time I stop to throw the molotov to the time he dies, the Tank fight takes 45 seconds. Ideally there wouldn't be a tank at all.

The elevator event takes 56 seconds. I make it in three seconds after the doors open. Not bad, but I should be sitting right against the doors towards the end.

I got very lucky at 7:26 with a zombie blocking or breaking the smoker's tongue.

The elevator ride takes 46 seconds. Nothing I can do about that.

Segment 5:
Time 4:14

Since I'm still crouch glitched I can get through the vent at 9:08 without stopping.

Zombie at the top of the ladder causes me to waste 4 seconds.

I use the radio at 9:32, but can't use it again for 25 seconds. This lets me do a little prep work.

Some pro jumping at 9:45.

The small ledge I get to at 10:09 doesn't have a navigation mesh, so the zombies assume I'm too far away and despawn. Smokers are the only thing I need to worry about at this point, since they can still grab me if they get line of sight.

The second tank dies at 12:45, making for a 2:48 finale.

I had planned to run along the ledge at 12:57, but a smoker was down below that area. It wastes a few seconds to reroute.
