Hello
Welcome! This guide is going to teach you how to import your old colors from BBCT, BBCSE or even the new colors from BBCF.

Don't believe that it works? Here are some images demostrating these colors in action!
(NOTE: All images were taken for the sole purpose of this guide. In no way do these images demonstrate my skill at the game)

Changing the Colors
First off, you are requried to own the following.
  • The Steam Version of BlazBlue: Chronophantasma Extend
  • (Optional) The Steam Version of BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger and/or BlazBlue Continuum Shift
  • A functional computer to run BlazBlue: Chronophantasma Extend for Steam
  • (Optional) A backup of the BlazBlue: Chronophantasma Extend files
  • (Optional) A USB Steam compatable game controller

Once you finally realized I just wasted time of your life, you're gonna wanna go into wherever your Steam game files (the one for the game, not the backup) are located. For most users, it should be:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common

Or you can just follow these links for each game's color files:
NOTE: These are the ONLY files that will work in Hipster for creating your own custom color sets. All of the Steam versions of these files WILL NOT work (Except for CF's Steam Files). The reason for this is currently unknown.

Central Fiction:

Fix for Celica's effects: (This goes in the same folder as palettes)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/fge5pbudiqbmkav/char_ce_vri.pac?dl=0

NOTE: Sadly the BBCF palettes are from Arcade Version 1.20.00 (the version on consoles is 1.30.00). That means colors 2-12 are the only colors that will the modified. However, Colors 13-22 will still be usable and will work fine.

Once you are there, go into the BlazBlue game folder with the character color you wish to have in BBCP, once inside select the "data" folder and find the "Char" folder. Inside, locate the character you wish to change the colors for. For each character, it should be:

char_rg_pal.pac = Ragna
char_jn_pal.pac = Jin
char_no_pal.pac = Noel
char_rc_pal.pac = Rachel
char_tk_pal.pac = Taokaka
char_tg_pal.pac = Tager
char_lc_pal.pac = Litchi
char_ar_pal.pac = Arakune
char_bn_pal.pac = Bang
char_ca_pal.pac = Carl
char_ha_pal.pac = Hakumen
char_ny_pal.pac = Nu-13
char_tb_pal.pac = Tsubaki
char_hz_pal.pac = Hazama
char_mu_pal.pac = Mu-12
char_mk_pal.pac = Makoto
char_vh_pal.pac = Valkenhayn
char_pt_pal.pac = Platinum
char_rl_pal.pac = Relius
char_am_pal.pac = Amane
char_az_pal.pac = Azrael
char_bl_pal.pac = Bullet
char_iz_pal.pac = Izayoi
char_kk_pal.pac = Kokonoe
char_kg_pal.pac = Kagura
char_tm_pal.pac = Terumi
char_ce_pal.pac = Celica
char_old_ny_pal.pac = Lambda (or char_rm_pal.pac)

After selecting the character palette file you wish to change, go back to your Steam apps folder and select the "BlazBlue Chronophantasma Extend" folder, then the "data" folder, then select the "char_e" folder, then paste the file in there (and replace if asked).

After you followed those steps, congratulations! You have just imported your old (or new) BlazBlue colors into BlazBlue Chronophantasma Extend!

WARNING: If you import your CT, CSE or CF colors into CPEX, you CANNOT access colors 23 or 24.

NOTE: These colors will be visible only to you unless the opponent changes their colors too. For example, if you are using Ragna's famous Gintoki Color from BBCSE but your opponent hasn't changed any of the color files, it will appear as if you are wearing the Ichigo Ragna color to them.
How to Make Custom Color Sets
If you aren't satisfied with what we have to offer, we figured out this method for changing individual colors. It's a little complicated but nothing too crazy, in order to do this you need:
  • A copy of the char_[name]_pal.pac file for your desired character you want the colors from.
  • A copy of the original palette file from CPEX.
  • A program for ripping the individual palettes called Hipster found Here.[mugenguild.com]

Once you have all that, we can begin changing our colors.

NOTE: Currently we found no way to replace colors with CT colors, only CS, CP and CF
UPDATE: As of the April 23, CT Colors have been uploaded, the Hipster compatable files are now the files that can be downloaded from the Changing the Colors Section

Step One: Extracting the palettes.

For this step, you have to open Hipster, and select the option explore from the File dropdown menu, then select the palette file you want the colors from. A window should pop up showing you all the palettes.

Now, for every palette you have to add +1, so 0 is palette 1, 01 is palette 2 and so on. I also should mention that you only need to extract files ending in 00, because palettes ending in 01 and up are for effects, most of them don't need to be changed (though Noel's may need to be changed due to her bullets being different colors depending on the palette).

Now, when you are done choosing which one you want, you right click the desired palette and click extract.

Step Two: Replacing the palettes.

This step is really easy, simply open your CPEX Palette file using the explore option, now you should see the same window as before.
Now you should click what palette you want to change, then right click and click replace, then choose the palette which you previously extraced and click OK, and a window should popup with a warning, just click OK.

And that's pretty much it, if you did everything right you should see your palette in the game. We haven't tested all the palettes and is most likely that they have the same bugs as having them together. If anyone finds a bug be sure to notify us in the comment section.

-Added a Note in the "What you need" section of the guide.
-Man this update was short.
-Nothing really witty to say.
-Though I wonder when BBCF is released on Steam if this trick will work...

9 November 2016
-Added MediaFire download links to each game's color files. I sure hope this works though...
-And... apparently that's it.
-Man people love the Gintoki Ragna color don't they?
-Funny cause all of the Ragna matches I see in BBCF, the players use colors besides that one...
-Not saying it's a bad color.
-In fact, I like that color too.

26 October 2016
-I can't believe there wasn't a Mu-12 section to this guide, so I've added one. No errors yet though! And by that I mean no errors that will affect gameplay effects, just pre-intros. Thanks to ℕᵒᶰᶤˢ オタク for pointing this out.
-On the topic of non-gameplay errors, found a error with Valkenhayn and Platinum's arcade NPCs (Rachel and Trinity respectively).
-Found a Aerial Dancing Edge error for Taokaka.
-Added some fun things to do with Nu as Lambda Colors.
-God, why do all of the guide's images take so long to load... It keeps screwing up the screen... One day I have to figure out how to fix that.
-"Tsubaka Yaoi" and "Izayaoi" is kinda funny.
-Though "Tsubaki Izayayoi" looks weird.

10 May 2016:
-Somehow the update yesterday completely screwed up Nu-13's errors of the "Known Color Issues" section. This issue has now been fixed.
-BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend is now referred to as CSE instead of CS. (The title has also been changed to reflect this)
-Added a warning about Palettes 23 and 24 on the "Changing the Colors" section.
-Bolded the dates in the "Guide Change List" section.
-One of these days, I'll have to upload a YouTube video showing off the color changes.
-And probably add some screenshots of a step by step showing how to Change the colors in the "Changing the Colors" section for people who learn better that way.

-Found some issues with Taokaka's palettes.

18 March 2016:

-Changed the picture in the "Hello" section.
-Changed all the images to the inline alignment instead of left.
-Adjusted all of the images in the "Known Color Issues" section.

14 March 2016:
-Added a Guide Change List.
-Removed Lambda-11 from the files area due to the fact that while her files are labeled as char_rm_pal.pac, trying to replace those files will result in the game crashing. Thanks to MightyKombat for helping me realize this.
-Added Amane's Astral Finish bugs.
-Identified a "bug" with Arakune's curse mode bugs. Heh, get it? Stupid joke...
-Added some pointless things in the "What you need" area of the Changing the Colors section.

6 March 2016:
-Guide first published.

Funciona en dota?
Dormin 24 abr. 2017 às 16:08
yeah, you can do that by using the files from the dumps of those games.
MightyKombat 24 abr. 2017 às 15:38
Also I'm guessing you modded the backgrounds in too? I'm seeing CF and P4AU stages there.
Dormin 23 abr. 2017 às 10:12
They're up, hopefully that works for you. The link is located in the new section.
Dormin 23 abr. 2017 às 10:08
Sorry about that, I'll upload the files that you can open in Hipster.
baronrider 23 abr. 2017 às 2:37
Every time I use hipster, It says that it's a 404 unrecognised pac file? Is it broken?
