First Your setup.

Hooksize: #1/0
bait: Cutbait
Depth: 250 centimeter
Time: Most times from 10am till 7pm.

Try to get a setup like this: you can have a better Rod reel or better cutbait

Where To Fish

Try to throw the same like the red lines in the pictures. always throw 6 to 8 metres out.

The Fish

Sometimes you will get the message. The Fish tried to bite and escaped. but that are just the little ones, sometimes you will catch Young Cats around 0,7 kg or 0,9kg, but most times i catch a Catfish from around 1.7 or higher or Thropy Cats like this one:

@ravenfire, correct the smaller the hook size number the bigger the hook is. At least until you get in to the x/0 sizes, like a #1/0 is smaller than a #2/0

You dont need to cast across the river for cats, in fact most new players wont have gear that can float fish at that range. 20 feet in front of the player cast towards yellow boat and let the bait drift along with current.

You dont explain how far a distance to throw it... but pretty good guide
