The Basics of Battling

When on a battle you'll first have to choose one character from your party of three characters. The dice will then be rolled to determine how much SP you'll gain. Afterwards you have to decide if you'll attack using your current character or switch to another. You'll have to consider which of your characters have the right set of attack types to get the advantage.

Strengths and Weaknesses Table
Attack Type
Power
Speed
Technique
Close Combat
Neutral
Strong
Weak
Single Hit
Weak
Neutral
Strong
Bullet Rain
Strong
Weak
Neutral

This is pretty simple and if you know how to play Rock-paper-scissors you'll know which type of attack would be effective against characters of a certain type. It is also important to know who acts first, and for that this is the priority list:
  1. Switch
  2. Defend
  3. Evade
  4. Boost
  5. Debuff
  6. Suport
  7. Disrupt
  8. Recover
  9. Single Hit
  10. Bullet Rain
  11. Close Combat

If in case your character is in a situtation where he/she can faint in one attack, you may want to use a Single Hit attack even though it won't be effective against the enemy. At least, you'd be able to deal some damage before the enemy knocks your character off of the field. If you and your opponent have chosen the same type of action, both will be done at the same time. (Double K.O. on story mode will mean game over.)
Playing through Story Mode
You'll start with just QP in your party. As this is just an introduction to how battles are done the battles on school won't be hard if you buy cards to get a full party early on. Be sure to do this once you are able to and to help your clear the school without any hassle.

When moving on to Red Barrel, the game's difficulty rises up moderately and you'll have to grind slightly or else you'll have to overcome your opponents by taking advantage of a party built to take on all types of characters (Power,Speed,Technique). Just be sure to choose your characters well so that you have all close combat, single hit, and bullet rain type of attacks.

Once you get to Sora, you will have to take some moderate grinding. Stat growth varies for different characters, and the levels would really affect the difficulty of beating your opponents. You might find yourself fighting an opponent already at level 22 while the highest one you have is at just level 14. Try not to grind too much though, you'll be given a multitude of opponents to choose from for when you have to prepare for the boss battle. Just get some bullets raining on the flying castle.

Finally, it is good that you get your party's level maxed out (30) before trying to fight the final boss. If you want more challenge, you may limit your level to 25 as this will be the level of your opponents from here on.

You can start a new game with a cleared save file. You'll be able to go through the game again while keeping all of your cards, levels, and stars.
From the main menu, select in this order: "New Game"-"Clear"-"Use clear game data? (Yes)"
Unlocking all Achievements
There are currently 23 achievements to unlock. No need to go multiplayer as all of them can be done in single player/story mode. Seven of them are unlocked by going on through the story. Four of them are achieved through collecting cards. You'll know how to unlock most of them by reading the description.

Unlocked through story
The First Friend
A Flying Friend
Comedy Trio
Unbreakable
New Winds
Santa of Miracles
Feather's Flight

The Phantom Card
Unlocks upon acquiring an Ultra rare card.

Made of Steel
Defeat a party of three without taking any damage.

Mix Us
Unlocks upon combining two cards. See Combination List for elligible cards.

Chain Fusion
Combine an already mixed card to another card. An easy way to do this is to combine Tequila & Mescal and afterwards combine it to Pig.

Who Threw the First Poppo?
Combine the cards of Kai and Marie Poppo and use it to attack an enemy using protagonist crash (Kai & Marie Poppo).

Shield Counter!
Use any character's support skill that can reflect an attack and make the opponent faint with it. If you just reflected an attack and it didn't take down the opponent this won't unlock.
e.g. Kyoko's Ice Mirror, Full Gear Nath's beam reflector

Party of One
Win a battle with a variation of just one character cards.
e.g. QP, QP (Dangerous), and QP SG

Parity
Win a battle using a party of three character combination cards.
e.g. Aru & Arthur, Islay& Sherry, Kai & Marie Poppo

Reversal
First, you must find a battle 3 vs 3. Let your first two party members faint and finish off three opponents using your remaining character. The key is to have one character strong enough to take down three enemies, you may want to try this on the school's third floor when you are able to travel between worlds.

Mark of the Strongest
Win the Bonus battle against the final boss.

Here is a video example. This is Hugo's fight against the final boss.

200% Mixed Juice!
Unlock all achievements.
Looking for Multiplayer Battles
I won't be discussing things that can help win multiplayer battles. This is just so that you can at least look for a fair match as I've seen players using level one characters on Free Tier multiplayer.

Obviously, the gap in level will be a very big disadvantage. On "Free Tier" it would be good if you have characters at level 30. On Level 20 Tier, you'll be fighting against characters at level 20 or lower. If characters are higher than level 20, they will be scaled down to level 20. Same goes for Level 10, 5, 1 tiers. Moreover, the options for cards can be limited to common, uncommon, or rare. Rarer cards are easier to use so but if you don't have them yet, you might want to limit usable cards to uncommon or rare based on the available cards that you want to use.

Try collecting some cards and check them out so you can prepare a good party. You can grind your characters while piling up some stars to buy more cards after finishing the game.

Thanks to this guide, I decided to try using Shifu&Robot's My Authority power to open up. It turns out that if Suguri doesn't break out of it before she has to heal, it will block her self heal. I didn't even need my third character for it.

In my case, I used Marc&Islay&Sherry for the first opponent, then Shifu&Robot, with Aru&Arthur for cleanup with their big 8 point attack. Except, the last part wasn't needed. XD

I'm not sure Made of Steel is correct - I took 2 hits from a party of 3 gulls (but didn't die) and still got the achievement.

Alright, turns out I had the cards necessary to put together a party of Peat, Peat (Blue Crow), and Peat (Pig), so I leveled them up a little bit with the help of Marc (Red Barrel), and then won a battle with the Peat-filled party, and I got the "Party of One" achievement. Thanks!

Ohh... Didn't realize that. Okay, I guess I'll keep trying until Mixdus cooperates.

@SomeGuy712x
Nope, I already tried that, you have to do it with cards that are not paired with another character.
You may try and do it with Marc and Peat.

Umm... Can I not get "Party of One" with Capt. Tequila, Tequila&Mescal, and Tequila&Mescal (Pig)? I tried winning a round with that party since I had the cards for them and Mixdus wasn't giving me cards for other possible combinations even after several dozen tries, but I didn't get the "Party of One" achievement. Does it have to be specifically QP variations?

Shifu is more fun againt 46B Year old Suguri than the video implies, since sealing prevents her healing too. ...Well, as expected of the original Suguri Antagonist.
