So you see the end is not as cruel

This is many months too late, but as it turns out, the official Karmaflow Facebook page uploaded all the Data Shard lyrics[www.facebook.com] (even giving Jojobean and I a little shout-out!), rendering this guide moot. For the sake of completeness, I'll fill this baby out and leave it here as a reminder of the fun I had uncovering the story's secrets. Much love to the Karmaflow team for creating such a wonderful and interesting experience; I hope your future efforts are met with more success!

After a couple times playing this game to the end, I realized that - aside from one - none of the Data Shards respawn on subsequent playthroughs. "Well, shucks," I thought. "That's story I will never get to experience again. How am I supposed to understand what's going on now?"

Thus, I scoured various Let's Plays and playthroughs (even the concert itself) in an effort to compile the Data Shards all in one place. Here you will find them, arranged in the order found in [J7] DSP21's lovely guide. Enjoy!

1. One of the seven shards you have found
In every realm I’m the echo of its sound
Fragments of all the worlds, you will see
Useful data visions, now unlock me

2. She moved to the cold icy echoes
The Muse disappeared in the shadows
The Conductor felt she was slipping away
Melodies weren’t heard since that day (Thanks, jojobean!)

3. In many forms and many ways
Preserves the dark for many days
Feeding itself with suffering in disguise
Eventually the Dissonance will rise

4. The Muse is no more, it changed her course
Her consciousness pulled like a puppet on a string
Her true identity sometimes shimmers through
But then again the Dissonance settles in

5. The imposing tower
Overseeing all effected
With Consonance power, the Dissonance he deflected
Inspired by his Muse, his compositions were magic
Now used as a weapon

6. Embraced by his grief, the Conductor commanded
To search for his Muse in the Dissonance of the lands
And it slowly crept up…
And they never came back
Now only one village remains

7. When his mood is changing, the walls are raging
His anger and depression have a great striking power
Crumble the foundations of his tower

8. The ancient Guardian, he is their Guide
He leads the souls lost in the lands forgotten by time
Shifting the lands
For the spirits to pass on to the other realm

9. Four Shamans left to help lift the burden
Their song not strong enough
In fear and despair the Guide moved the land
Now four are lost
And the wandering souls all became Dissonant

10. And the soul of the fifth moved towards the Guide
A trace of Dissonance he left behind
Stronger than the Guide could comprehend
Not able to be cleansed

11. Coping with death, one of the Shamans lost his loved one
Bringing her to a place of unholy ceremony
A forbidden ritual, lashes back, resulting in death
And a soul full of despair

12. The Guide rids the spirits of all the wrong they did
Extracting the Dissonance, consuming it
But the Dissonance grew strong
In one who truly did wrong

13. Five Shamans to perform the ritual
That drives out the Dissonance left behind
In the Guide’s mind
To find peace for a while
Until new souls arrive

14. Plaguing the Guide’s mind, nightmares unimaginable
Screaming in rage, his sanity crumbles, and so does the land
On the brink of falling apart by his own hands

15. From the old Guardian the Sun and the Moon are born
Two of the same, united in blood
Stand divided, as their father is no more
The Bird Goddess now guards the throne
Until the rightful heir becomes known

16. Wise and loyal being of the sky
The Bird Goddess guides the Guardian’s son
As his late father’s faithful ally
She’s convinced he must be the chosen One

17. Their father’s grave was erected in the sky
High above where she could not reach
Furious waves gathered
Empowered by her rage
On the surface is where the grave now lies

18. Bound by blood
Once inseparable, now grown apart
In her fury, the Moon Sister keeps to the ocean’s floor
Certain to never again come ashore

19. Dwelling deeper in the dark of oceans
A healing light for the Moon Sister appears
Radiant from the mighty Sea God
Who resided in these depths for years
Aided by his creatures he built her a throne
He offered her his loyalty and home

20. Words and whispers to protect her precious skies
The Bird Goddess counsels with care
Fearful a Karmakeeper may change the future winds
And abate their world of air

21. The Moon Sister polluted by sorrow
Dissonance slowly embraces her heart
Contemplates her father’s will
The Sun and Moon now torn apart
Were they not meant to rule together?

22. Once was a creature, weaving and breathing
Life through his veins, expanding and growing
Creating his own legacy, birthing a far reaching land
Now locked behind the gate
Deep down below he waits

23. Small were the creatures
That grew from his veins
Quickly growing stronger and greedy
Consuming until nothing remained

24. They arrived in the city
Rebuilding their community
Losing the memory of the old lands
New opportunities
A dormant guardian would protect them
When awoken, the new Heart will arise
Does he dare to seek the entrance?

25. Remembering the fear and disturbance
Connected to the flowers and the surface
The Hero will guide you
And give directions
Knowing not of his fate and the Heart’s intentions

26. Deeper and deeper
Close to the core
The secret of the flowers is about to be exposed
Towards the discovery of their origin
How they blossomed, grew from his veins

27. A ruined city
As the gateway to the core
Destruction was needed
The Heart was broken, his children were no more
His veins grew again, from inside his core
Rebuilding existence
The world would restore

28. Growing, keeping the new city alive
A new start for his children who survived
Again they grow greedy…
