So to start with a small introduction of the maps.
I catogorize them between:
- CQC (long-range is there as well but not a lot)
- Mix (some CQC and some long-range)
- Long range (CQC is there as well but not a lot)

I will tell the CQC (Close Quarter Combat) build in CQC, Mix in Mix and long-range in long-range.
These are of course guide lines. You can play any build on any map and still be succesfull.
E.G. I almost always go my mix build and almost never CQC build, since i can use a pistol well to get those kills in the beginning.

I excluded heavy guns from the lists. They are to expensive for most people, however if you can get one always get one!

The CQC maps are:
- Catacombs
- Hanger
- Highrise

Item builds:
Short range:
1. Get an SMG/Shotgun (get one you like, i like P90 or SPAS)
2. Slap some armor on yourself (so you can go crazy)
3. Get a grenade (depending on situation get grenade over armor)
What is the situation to get a grenade over armor? Well when you are basecamping or they are camping your base. People are closer so easy kills with a grenade!

Mix map is:
- Factory
Only one in my eyes at the moment.

Mix build:
On a mix map you get the items you like and play with it since no build is really better.

1. Use your pistol to get some kills and then get an AR (I like AK47, Famas, QBZ9S or M4A1)
2. SLAP SOME ARMOR ON YOURSELF
3. Again a grenade (same rules on the grenade as in the CQC build)

I get the AK47 most of the times. Easy to use, high damage and really cheap (2700).

The long-range maps are:
- Pripyat
- Industrial

Long-range build:
Okay here it gets tricky since it depends on YOU!
If you are good with the pistol just bank that cash till you can buy a sniper rifle.
If not get a different weapon first, preferably something cheap (less than 3000)

In the situation of you having trouble collecting cash get the M24 if not go for AWP or M90.
Why not SVD or something. Well they aren't 1 shot kill on even a no armor target unless it's a headshot. So better just collect some more money.

Build 1:
1. Collect that money with the pistol and then get a sniper
2. Armor
3. Grenade

Build 2:
1. Get Assualt Rifle/Shotgun/SMG
2. Get the Sniper you want
3. Armor
4. Grenade
