Welcome!

In fact, you're just minutes away from running a fully-automated trade robot to increase your trading productivity!

Feel free to join our group for all your trading needs
What can MyBot do for me?
MyBot is an automated robot running on your computer that filters through Trade Offers
on Steam, automatically accepting offers that match your sale price, and allows toggleable auto-declining of offers that do not match price.

MyBot aims to assist traders by providing an alternative pathway for trades to occur while you are occupied in trades elsewhere: in trade servers, chatting with potential buyers/sellers on Steam, or simply away from your computer.

Trade.tf ad for REALTourney's REAL Ultiduo Tournament 2014:
What are the benefits of MyBot?
  • Trade while away from your computer
  • Enhances your trading experience; you can trade normally via trade requests while you simultaneously accept trade offers received via steam
  • Increases your chance of a sale, all your trades are advertised on the Trade.tf main page and Instatrades
  • You can post automatic trades on other trading sites, and still be able to accept trade offers from other users from those sites.
  • You can run your bot within your modern web browser (Except Internet Explorer, ew)
  • You don't need to install software on your computer!
  • It's cross-compatible with Mac OSX, Linux, Windows
  • No knowledge of programming needed
  • Allows easy key banking, earbud banking, etc.
Easy instructions for your very own trading bot
Any questions before you make your bot?
Please ask your questions below in the guide comments, or create a new discussion in the MyBot forum in our group!

Step 1. Login through Steam at the Trade.tf website.
Simply click the Login through Steam button at the top-right hand side to login to Trade.tf

Step 2. Go to the MyBot page.
Click the downwards facing arrow button by your username, and then click on the MyBot button.

Step 3. Installing a small browser app (it's safe, guaranteed)

First, click on the Install Tampermonkey button, then click on the [Free] button after it takes you to the page in the second image. Finally click Add in the confirmation box displayed. If done correctly, a success page should pop up.
This step is carried out in Google Chrome. The plugin being installed is called Tampermonkey, and is a userscript plugin, which is required for the bot to work. This is a very important step!
(You may use alternative userscript plugins/apps for popular browsers such as Firefox, Chrome, Opera, and Safari although the installation process is quite similar)

Step 4. Installing the script itself

Firstly as in the first image of this step, click the button to reload the page AFTER you have installed [Tampermonkey or the plugin in step 3]. Then click on the Install Robot button to install, and press Install on the next screen shown.
(The second step may vary from browser to browser, but you simply have to press install or confirm your installation of the bot script.)
The script only runs on the Trade.tf MyBot page.

Step 5. One more thing
If something pops up like this when you install it, please press "Always allow domain" for the bot to find your trade offers.

Step 6. All done! Your bot is fully installed and ready.
If successful, this page should display when all the instructions were followed through.
How do you add items to the bot for sale?
Step 1. Scrolling down to your TF2 Backpack.
When your bot is fully installed, simply scroll down to your TF2 backpack.

Step 2. Selecting the items for trade.
Simply select the item in question, then press the Sell button that is displayed in the preview box.
Fill in the textboxes that come up with your desired sale values (in buds, keys, and metal), then press the Sell it button again.
If you're generous enough to give the item away, simply fill in the textboxes with a small value <0.06 refined, and press Sell It. This is useful if you want to get rid of useless crates filling up your inventory.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. The bot doesn't work? OR I can't see my inventory :(
A. The bot warns you of your inventory settings (which are private by default), and directs you to change it to Public. If you have recently set your inventory settings to Public, simply wait a while and visit your Backpack by clicking your username button at the top-right hand corner of the Trade.tf website.

Q. How do I select my weapons for sale??? ARGH!
A. You can select your other items, sorted by Tools, by Class, by Multi-class (for hats/weapons used by more than 1 class), and All-class cosmetics/weapons.

Q. Why isn't [{ item }] showing up in the place where it's supposed to be???
A. If your item (e.g. "Team Captain") does not come up under All-class, try a different option instead (Multi-class). Else, it may be that you've recently acquired it and your inventory hasn't refreshed yet (see below), or it's a glitch, which you can report to the Trade.tf steam group forums.

Q. Why isn't my item showing up after I got it from someone??? WTF???
A. Also, if you have recently acquired your item by trading, simply wait a while for your inventory to refresh (sorting your inventory in-game can help speed this process up sometimes) for it to appear.

Q. Why can't I sell my [{ Ghostly Gibus }]?
A. Only tradable items can be sold; if you want to sell untradable items, simply gift wrap your item, and put that up for trade.

Q. I can't sell my metal? HELP!
A. You can't sell currency using this bot. Try banking something instead.

Q. Wow, I can't sell my items that are valued over a key. Thanks Gaben?
A. Guess what? You can become Pro for free simply by adding "trade.tf" anywhere in your Steam name. It's as easy and simple as that. Just wait a few minutes, logout and login to the site, and enjoy.

Q. Will the bot accept dirty items?
A. If by dirty items, you mean scammed items, MyBot should automatically decline trade offers from scammers marked on Steamrep. You can toggle accepting of gifted earbuds, but since MyBot only accepts pure currency for sales, most of the time you will not have to worry about gifted or uncraftable items.
For banked items, you may receive gifted items, but most of the time the value of the item will not change.

Q. Help! I'm getting errors when installing the bot!
A. 90% of the time, you can just post directly on the bugs/suggestions forum. For very specific problems, we may need screenshots, the date of which you experienced the problem, and if possible, the steps taken to reach this error. Simply post the necessary screenshots through an image hosting site (imgur, gyazo), and post the links as well as other information in the bugs/suggestions forum in our group.

Q. Your bot scammed me of my items! SERIOUSLY??
A. The bot has no control of your inventory, and none of the bot scripts run outside of the Trade.tf website. If your items disappeared or you've lost control of your account, it may be because of malicious links or software installed on your computer.

Q. Help! MyBot can't find my trade URL!
A. Log out and log back into the website to try fix this problem. Tampermonkey update recently broke things as well (June 2016) and so I updated the guide to reflect this new change.
Trading tips
Avoid trading with scammers
This website uses Steamrep to check the user reputation status; if a user has been reported to actively scam people in the community, users can file a report to http://steamrep.com/ with sufficient evidence.
IT IS RECOMMENDED TO AVOID TRADING WITH THESE PEOPLE, as they may damage YOUR reputation as a trader if you are caught trading with them.

Display your MyBot trades on other trading websites
After clicking on the arrow button next to your username, there's a "My Bot Trades" button.
You can click this link or copy this link to give to your friends or place on your trades in other trading websites for them to see your active automatic trades.
[Update 2] Tampermonkey update
There has been an update for Tampermonkey that has prevented some people from trading properly recently.

If possible, try factory reset MyBot and follow through install step 5 again, else you can remove the script entirely and reinstall MyBot with the updated steps (see below screenshots for options available)

Hi! Sorry, I don't maintain this guide anymore as I've since left the Trade.tf team. In the time I did use it though, I believe the script runs only when you're on the Trade.tf domain. The script will also put your listings on the Trade.tf site as well.

Hello! I had 2 questions about Trade.tf's MyBot:

1: Is the script safe? I know it probably doesnt contain any harmful material, but is it built well structurally? (Ive heard bad scripts can slow down your pc and increase cpu usage, so just asking for a friend.)

2: The bot lists trade on the Trade.TF site, right?

@Beli - if you have mobile authenticator you'll still need to approve trades there.
