Alert.
I have never met him in person, but he seemed to me to be a serious person and not the kind of person who would engage in account theft. So, perhaps, but I think he was already a victim of account theft due to the new method I am sharing.
The M.O. is to receive a Playtest invite for a new game, like Deadlock. But in chat. It looks official because it is sent as a set of embedded message and URL. I thought so too at first.
But the domain was Steam powered next playtest com, which I had never heard of, so I was skeptical and looked up the AppID on mouseover on SteamDB. The AppID of the URL was Dune:Awakening.
This is a very official-looking trick, so please be careful. I unfriended him and contacted support about his involvement in the theft.
Here is the thread on the official Steam community forum that introduced this modus operandi.
