Description
Earth Will Never Be The Same
Revisit the debut prototype of Halo 2 in this restoration of the notorious "Earth City" demonstration, initially unveiled at the Xbox press conference during E3 2003.

For the first time ever, take it to the streets, your way, with support for cooperative action, optional navigation points to rehearse the exact demo path and an included 'Playground' version of the level, allowing free roam of the city.

This release represents an effort to rebuild content originally designed for a different functioning game engine, the first campaign collaboration between Digsite and Halo Studios.

Several elements are updated to accommodate differences in Halo: The Master Chief Collection, however some inconsistencies will exist. Your play experience may vary.

Halo 2: Anniversary is required to launch this mission.
For community modders, source tags & data are available here.[github.com]

MORE WHERE THAT CAME FROM
The complete index of all of our restorative releases and work, available here on Steam.

ALPHA MOON - Now Available!
A cut 2003-era continuation from the gas giant environment seen in The Arbiter, pursuit of the Heretic leader continues on Basis, a moon among remnants of Installation 04. The second campaign mission restored by the Digsite Team, drop into a graveyard of relics from the first Halo, on a holy mission sent by the Prophets.

Hot new maps o' action, freshly authored for Halo 2 by Delta Rampancy. Sight see the outskirts of combat in Jetty, battle in the cathedrals of Abyss, or take it old-school with In Amber Action, a ground up reimagining of CE's Boarding Action.

CRASH SITE - (Join the Decamillennium)
A new Halo: CE campaign level built upon the island seen in the Macworld reveal trailer for Halo, reinforce allies & eliminate Covenant on a search to uncover the island's mysteries, in one of the largest sandbox environments available in-engine. Also included is SPLASH SITE, a variant of Infinity tweaked for jet-ski action. Flip music included.

Originally included in the Limited Collector's Edition of Halo 2, this documentary chronicles the team behind Halo 2's development, including an intimate deep-dive of their world producing the E3 2003 prototype, the devastation manifest that followed, and their great journey to ship.

Hey folks, just a heads up that upcoming updates will both:

- Add dialog subtitles with speaker name to both Alpha Moon and E3 2003.
They'll respect the MCC setting to display subtitles, so turn that on if you'd like to use them.

- Coincide with a NexusMods mirror release of Alpha Moon, as we have already done for E3 2003.

Cheers, all!

I cannot even describe how surreal it is to play the level from the Halo 2 trailer from way back in 2004. Back then, I didn't even own an Xbox yet (Christmas 04 changed all that), and yet I watched this trailer over and over and over in absolute awe like so many of us did.

Fast forward 20 years later, still playing Halo 2 on Insignia using old Xboxes I try to keep alive, being able to play this Demo is something I never even fathomed. Bless the team that built this, beyond words as to how thankful I am being able to explore this over and over again.

I love the level and i love that their's a low spec version since the mission was a low quality level made it more nostalgic

It was nice to play the E3 Demo, although it did really show just how far along they were between Halo CE and Halo 2 at the time (Couldn't pick up weapons, the dual-wielding was clearly a hard objective but they had to do it as if it were a modded CE weapon, the Ghost was a remodeled and retextured HCE ghost popping a 'wheelie' when pressing jump and all, etc.). Between the demo and the final release Bungie clearly pulled a lot off.

Only issue is that whenever I tried to pause during the mission, my computer would essentially have an aneurysm, stop displaying to all monitors, become completely unresponsive, and the fans would run at max RPM. Had to force the computer off twice. Not sure what on earth could have caused that within Halo, but I felt like I would mention it just for you guys to keep in mind.

Hey folks. Alpha Moon is targeting this Friday as a release. We will not be delaying it any further, and this was done to bring the quality further in-line with a retail H2 campaign mission.

Thank you for the continued support and interest! We're excited to release it. 🎸
