What is Starwind?

Starwind is a Morrowind Total Conversion mod that changes the base game into Star Wars set in the times of Classic Kotor games. That means it has its own unique story, with over 12 planets (Kashyyyk, Hoth, Lok etc.) and still growing via mod addons created by an active community. The base game is feature complete and boasts version number 3.1 (usually release versions are 1.0 so it has updated quite a lot).

It has about 8 joinable factions from Sith (fleet) to Jedi (fleet) to Hutt Cartel, Assassins, Bounty Hunters and various interesting questlines such as the hidden path of Jedi.

You can wield lightsabers and blasters, fly speeders and a spaceship, nobody though possible in a 20 year old game.

It is a huge Star Wars adventure running on your favorite game - Morrowind with gameplay very close to Morrowind some things have been altered slightly to allow Star Wars feel in it.

Character creation is deep. It has reworked Morrowind skills and attributes but they mostly function the same old way. You can can choose from around 31+ playable races which are usually expanded the more DLC addons you install. From Rodians, Twi'leks, Zabraks to even Droids. All have their unique feats and abilities.

The game is full of secrets and easter eggs. There are a lot of collectibles such as famed Fenelar armor that you have to search for through out the galaxy if you wish, Gizka pets and holocrons that bestow you their power!

Star Wars epic

I would say gameplay wise with all the expansions it is anywhere from 50 to 100+ hours of playtime. It adds over 150 weapons, and over 200 quests as well as several mini-games like pazaak and dejarik. The ability to free roam in space is interesting too.

The mod requires OpenMW but it provides a lot of functionality and quality of life changes like being able to have multiple (over 30) quicksaves and generally runs better on modern computers. As such you can also play Starwind online via TES3MP which is an online mod and Starwind even has an online expansion of planet of Naboo (which is only played Online). But if you don't want to play Online there are plenty other planets to explore. Afaik the entire game can be played Online.

Installation and helpful links
So you need OpenMW Free Modern community created engine for Morrowind, installation is pretty straight forward but I will link you another Steam guide that I used for help and it also allowed me to integrate the OpenMW into the Steam Install of Morrowind.

Then you need the mod itself obtained from Nexus

Here is a link to Elder Scrolls 3 Multiplayer mod if you wish to play online with friends, it has a guide at the bottom of the page how to get it running but since I have no friends I only played main campaign so I can't provide any other guides and links to help you install the online portion

Here is the invite link, if it gets outdated just write a comment in this guide I will update it.

You can use discord to talk to the developers directly, they are nice people and show up frequently. They ask for suggestions from players, what mods they'd like to see. They offer help and you can even get a few work in progress patches from them to get an even better experience. But you don't need those patches too much as the game is of a rather good quality already.

Feel free to pop up and ask them any questions
