No you most likely didn't do anything wrong. It sometimes happens. Try to verfiy the integretiy of the installed Files of Wallpaper Engine on Steam, that often fixes the issue. if it still doesn't work after that try to see if some of your drivers are outdatet. If both options fail, try to contact Wallpaper Engine support. I hope this was helpful.
